No set-item in chests (veteran dungeon)

Hello,

I've noticed several times now, that I sometimes don't receive a setitem from chests in veteran dungeons. If I am not totally mistaken, then you should get a guaranteed set piece from there, since chests are minimum on intermediate difficulty.

Anyone else noticed that too?

I wonder if it’s that a set piece is guaranteed from Intermediate only with Treasure Hunter active.

With TH on, simple chests have a chance to contain a set piece, but it’s by no means guaranteed. Since TH effectively raises the loot level of the chest by one, then without it an intermediate chest should have only a chance, with a simple chest having no chance at all.

Treasure hunter does not have any influence on a item to drop. It just increases the chance of the quality. So if you open a chest on overland, treasure hunter perk influences, if the item is green, blue or even purple.

Also veteran dungeon-items are -always- purple, so treasure hunter perk have no influence on that either.

Before the patch, chests in veteran dungeons had -always- a set piece inside. I am a greedy khajiit that values any coin, so I have an eye on that :P

But since the patch I had a handful of chests, where no set-piece was included. So I wonder what changed there.

Edit: Also as important note: I have lootlog addon activated and I see, that all other 3 group members received their purple set drop. I am the only one who had none.

Did they have Treasure Hunter slotted and you did not? I would not be concerned with how Treasure Hunter should or should not work. Clearly something was different about their setup from yours, and Treasure Hunter is an obvious potential culprit. At least you would have solid info to explain how Treasure Hunter is behaving and that you feel it is a bug.

Still not acceptable. Veteran dungeon chests, the chance for a set item should be 100%, and Treasure Hunter should be irrelevant. Leave Treasure Hunter to be for overland chests.

For the above: I have a maxed-out Treasure Hunter slotted all the time, and I too have sometimes not got a set-item in a group dungeon chest.

    It's me again!

This time I was able to screenshot a chest.

    nhxlunz6edhq.jpg

It was a intermediate one and it just included a green useless stick. You can't tell me, that this is correct like that.

There is a missing set piece and if that isn't new or intended, then we have a bug here.

That's incorrect. What Treasure Hunter does is upgrade the quality of the chest. So a simple chest acts like an intermediate chest. An intermediate chest acts like an advanced chest, etc.

Set items are guaranteed only in advanced chests.

In veteran dungeons/trials, the minimum chest level is intermediate. If someone is using Treasure Hunter, then every chest will effectively be advanced, and you will always get a set item. But if you don't have Treasure Hunter, then there is no such guarantee.

Can you link any guide that proves what you said? The passive says "it increases the quality of the items", not the quality of the chest.
The old perk from the cp tree worked exactly the same. You had a chance to receive blue/purple instead of green/blue items.

Besides that: As you can see on the screenshot, my treasure hunter perk was equipped. Therefore the intermediate chest would have acted as advanced chest, but yet I had no guaranteed set piece in it.

And by increasing the chest quality, you've increased the quality of the items. A set item is better than a non-set item.

This is how Treasure Hunter has always worked. With both old CP and with new CP.

Second, the loot is generated at the moment a chest is unlocked. This is why you should keep Treasure Hunter permanently slotted when there are group-instance chests, instead of using an addon to auto-slot Treasure Hunter. Because if someone else in your group pops open a chest before you've slotted TH, then you won't get the benefit of TH for that chest.

(Similarly, in Stone Garden, CP perks are disabled while you're in the werewolf behemoth mode. So make sure that nobody pops open a chest while someone is transformed, since the transformed person will not gain the benefit of TH for that chest.)
