What problems did this solve? None. It created problems and insults the player-base.
Unless the problem was that too many players had reached the end of the "CP hallway". And the solution they went with was to stretch a grossly inferior hallway out to 4.5 times the length of the previous one. Rather than come up with something fresh, to add to what we already had.

several issues with the new CP system that would take too much take to adress from a PvPers standpoint. pvers just notice they have more hp and more WD/SD. makign content easier for them. but hell for us pvpers.
also it takes pvers roughly 1400-1600 to maximize pve potential but pvpers need 2100+ to maximize pvp potential. meanign the grind is real for pvpers.
all those extra perks that dont need slotted i nthe warfare subsection. bonus WD, percentile mitigations, armor penetration. it's crazy. simply crazy to assume this is balanced.
2.0 is very pve catered. i nthe sense that it makes life easier for pvers, but man does it ruin pvp.
I dislike the change also because of the complexity of the new CP system and the lack of explanation of the direct effects of the steps. No explanation of what each skill effects my DPS so I can decide what is the better places to put my points.
I also hate that now my harvesting is going to suck because I don't have the points to get my harvesting time decrease now.
I also feel that the CP should have been modified to represent the amount of experience I have into the CP not the number of CP I had so I should now have more CP.
I also hate that not all my characters got my skills refunded so I can respect them.

Returned from launch, played hard the last 2 years, the last one of which was spent finding a character / setup I could actually manage to do decent DPS on, which I found last month and was elated to not only break 55K, but actually hit 91K DPS! Today after re-alloting everything with my mere 1025 CP points, I am back to square one. I barely managed to hit 70K DPS, 65K was more the norm after many tries.
I do not have multiple years of grinding left in me to get back to where I was yesterday. I am at a complete loss at this point and don't know what to do. I am more than very sad as I really was enjoying this game.

This is all about the developers not coding properties correctly and implementing hash tables correctly. They complained about server lag due to checking every step and axe swing against a myriad of checks (ie mount speed etc) when it wasn't really necessary. Now they are coding for speed instead of function, and we all now suffer. Those that think your character is better now, didn't have a good character before. The rest of us are now questioning whether to put money into this game.
