    @Master_Kas idk, Walks-Like-Thunder (specifically its totem heal) has been ninja buffed
    a while back and they still haven't done anything about it, wasn't mentioned anywhere.
    (It's a pita to do that boss with randoms as it scales up the healing but people don't kill the totems or use Defile against it.)

    Frustratingly, I just started ESO and had settled (after hours of thought on the subject) on making a character based on pure crit chance/crit damage.

    Lo and behold my surprise when my first foray into the ESO world and crit seems to be not working as intended.

    It has to be an overlooked bug because even some of the Passives like 'Master Assassin' still claim to "Increase stun duration from sneak by 100%". ...well, sorry, but 100% of 0% is still 0%.. :/


    It seems to me that no matter what I try, my crit chance is always going by my inherent weapon crit (being at 14.9%)

    PvP:d for several hours yesterday and didn't get stun desynced by a single attack from stealth/flank/sneak and its absolutely wonderful. Makes PvP alot more enjoyable.

    Please keep it as it is, we don't need these kind of awful mechanics that doesn't have any proper counterplay to them.

    I definitely believe it to be a bug. No mention on patch notes, and as you said, literal passives dedicated to it.

    I do wish someone could give us a definitive yes or no, however. @ZOS_JessicaFolsom perhaps? Maybe @ZOS_BrianWheeler?

    Yup this is still not working

    No stun from sneak attacks in Cyro cp or non cp
    At least the spelling is difficult for you.

    Presumably unless they are awful mechanics that relate to your skill bar :/

    Could someone with Srendarr do a test with full event logging enabled?

    I would do one but no addons on Stadia...

    I've done some further testing and sometimes I managed to stun the enemies but it's not a 100% chance, same as the critical hit. What's even weirder is that I stunned enemies while not critting from Sneak (and tbh idc about the stun, just give me my 100% crit). I'm certain the sneak attack doesn't fail because of glyphs, damage done by a proc set, or CP (did tests without those).

    It feels like somehow the enemies get alerted of the attack before it actually does damage and it fails because of that.

    I cant speak for OP, but I wear 7 medium and don't get the sneak attack damage bonus, guaranteed crit, or stun from sneak attacks after U29. I use a bow, and enemies don't seem to detect me until after the attack from stealth hits.

    @Vanionator I might have, at theblast test I did but according to this other response, it doesn't work with 7 medium either.

    @FauxHunter It's the fraction of a second. It feels like NPCs start their attacks just slightly before the damage. Might be just my imagination though.

    And players automatically detect you when you attack from sneak. You become visible, which means you are detected by them.

    Just posting a short video of the issue I'm seeing. Maybe it will help someone at ZOS, or at least show that someone else is experiencing the bug. As you can see no sneak attack, crit, or stun. My latency is ~40ms so no lag that I know of. Some of my sneak attacks are normal crits, but even those aren't getting the from-stealth damage bonus. I haven't seen a sneak attack stun since U29 launched. Hope this helps and the issue can get fixed!

    As for the detection issue recently being discussed, it definitely could be happening for others, but not for me. In the video I don't see any detection before the attack hits and the damage numbers appear. All I know is sneak attacks aren't working lol

    I think the difficulty for sneak and being detected has changed. My thief character could move past a guard undetected, now, the eye opens or I am detected. That's even with the new cp system and all the wonderful slottables. If it's not broken why "fix" or change it?
    Picking pockets seems more difficult as well.
    Stuns, I haven't seen one since pre-patch either. Resorting to poisons to get a 20% chance to do so isn't a solution either. Thankfully the blade of woe still works, but that doesn't help the pvp'ers.

    Idk about that, heavy armor has a huge penalty on sneaking so if you wear heavy pieces, that could be it. I've never maxed sneak detection radius reduction so much, but using the same 2h/5m build with maxed stealth radius CP it feels about the same for me as prepatch.

    I feel lied to. I was told I could play however I want. But now I can't play as a StealthArcher™ or any kind of stealthy dude who does sneak melee takedowns.

    I was looking at skills on my alt characters the other day and I just realized that Radiant Magelight is pretty much pointless if you can't be stunned by sneak attacks anyway.

    Tried on a few dozen mobs while wearing 7 medium pieces with a very stealthy nightblade. Both melee and ranged attacks/skills seem to automatically pull you out of stealth before they land and the landing damage seems to be calculated as if you were not in stealth at all. I guess it may be a faulty optimization of conditions for damage calculation ... off to train a tank char. :neutral:

    This bug exists on console too.

    I haven't tested it extensively (it took most of yesterday evening to mostly get my characters back in order) but I was stunned to discover that... well... the stealth attack stuns were simply not working. Or critting. Which is a serious bummer for anyone telling stories with rogue/assassin type characters. They suddenly find they cannot do their jobs anymore. I cannot really test how the new CP system is working with my character that is that general archetype because the game mechanic here is broke. Am I doing more or less damage from stealth attacks? I don't know - the game won't let me do it anymore. Sad. This really needs some response or acknowledgement from the ZoS team. This is about as ridiculous as that one time we couldn't sell stolen goods for weeks on end...

    If this is deliberate (and let's face it, it probably is), then this is an absolutely dire new low in the way changes to the game content are being made.

    Not only because they are removing core mechanisms which a whole class depends on, but not even communicating this change. Just hiding it away to see who notices.

    The thing that I find irksome is the fact that it hasn't been addressed by the devs. Looks like I might be revisiting the KOTOR series. I certainly won't be getting eso+ in the future.

    If there is a problem with your cable or cell phone, the company involved is more than happy to help you or address the issue. Why? They don't want to lose a customer or their money.
