PTS Maintenance - March 2 @ 10am EST

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to give you a heads up that we'll be taking the PTS offline for maintenance tomorrow, March 2 at 10am EST to hotfix a high memory usage issue found on the server. We anticipate maintenance taking a few hours, but no patch will be required to download and all your current progress will remain.

can i just ask one thing, if you see this though, in greymoor after PTS week 4 there was a "last minute change", where some arena weapons and whatnot got reduced a little. Can we expect that this time too? or will PTS go as is now (maybe with a few hotfixes)

I was wondering why it was so laggy for me. Glad to hear it wasn't on my end! It only seemed to happen to me when i was on the character select screen and viewing certain UI's & loadingscreens in game.

Went to PTS to check it out, and when i am on the character select screen my GPU usage goes up to 100%.

Sititng idle in game it stays around 70%



Anyone else having similar issues?

I use 2 monitors, the eso screen seems to run fine while the rest of my PC slows down to a halt. The youtube video playing on my second screen just starts chopping forward, going down to 2 FPS.

This sounds like a different issue than the one we fixed, which was strictly on the backend. Let us know if you continue to run into this on Monday after launch.

Of course it's possible it's an issue on my end, but i am not sold on that yet. I have the PTS on a SATA SSD, while my primary live client is on my nvme SSD. But i haven't ran into any similar issues for any other software or game on the SATA SSD.

The first PTS patch everything worked like normal, after the second patch it got choppy on the character select screen & certain loadingscreens & UI screens. I believe it was the third PTS patch this cycle that fixed it, and then the lag got introduced again in the patch after that.

From what i can see now, the high GPU usage only seems to happen on the character select screen. I can't replicate the same issue in loadingscreens or in game UI's anymore, so thats good!

I will report back if the issue persists on monday.

My only theory thus far is the new character select background area for the Blackwood chapter might not be optimised properly for performance.

I seem to have mostly fixed the issue by lowering the refresh rate of my primary monitor down to 144hz instead of 160.

Not ideal, but not that big of a deal!

Just to come back and confirm. Haven't had any issues with this on launch, so it seems to be all good!

Well, after a few days, the issue returned and many of my friends are reporting the same issue specific to the character select screen. @ZOS_GinaBruno
