Another event where support roles are denied loot from world bosses. Come on ZOS...

What I can't fathom is why, on at least two occasions, I did get loot. As a healer, I've resigned myself to no loot and just keep retribution down then spam heals. I was half way back to the exit before I realised the boss gave me loot :D ... why?

I've gotten loot from world bosses on my templar healer. Drop a shard and spam jabs.... seems to get me enough damage most of the time to get drops - assuming I'm already in position before the boss spawns.

Honestly the loots are mediocre, you're not miss out on much. The quest turn in rewards are where it is at.

    Except for the style motifs...

Best solution: just chill, it's a game... At least it's better than when some random person yells at me in Craglorn that I "steal kill" in group event that requires us to kill all mobs in area LMAO

Honestly, I didn't even know you get loot from world bosses until it happened once accidentally. It was an "oh hey!" moment.

My thoughts on the matter, as a Tank main -

    1. Do I miss loot? Most likely. Do I care? No, not really. I am there for my daily quest. Anything else on top of that I consider a bonus.
    2. That said however, since I most likely won't get loot will I be so eager to help others? I might, but I might not. If its a friend or guild mate certainly. But if I am just trotting by, seeing 8-9 "clothies" getting chased in circles I am not motivated to get involved. Sometimes its a good /popcorn moment. It all just depends on my mood really, which I hope would be fair to say about anyone. But it would be dishonest if I claimed that knowing I most likely wont get any loot did not affect my decision either way, because it does. Even if it was just a scrying lead, or a vendor collectable or something, even "something" is better than nothing.
    3. However, to be fair, there are upsides to being a tank. The near instant dungeon cues are nice, which makes farming sets much easier than say, on a DPS. My fresh 50 DK got 4 pieces of ebony, and a full set of leeching plate, in a single day, just from running Imperial Prisons and Crypt of Hearts over and over. I doubt a DPS, (or perhaps even a healer) could do the same.
    4. Another upside, is even as a low CP newbie such as myself, being a tank does feel immortal at times. Just last night I grew tired of waiting for people to help get Skreg for the daily, so I just said Heck with it and ran in alone. About 12 minutes later, Skreg and I are still toe to toe, and this little level 12 starts hovering on the edge of the fight going "PEWPEW!" Which as odd as it sounds, I did notice their DPS helping. It "did" make a difference. Now I know lots of people solo things. But I did not expect myself to be able to.

So, honestly, there are ups and downs to being a tank. For the record, I am not a fan of PVE nerfs for PVP reasons, (in any game, not just ESO. in my humble opinion they should be entirely separate.) or PVP nerfs for PVE reasons for that matter, and yes, those do happen on occasion. But I have yet to see that happen here in ESO.

Plus, it is nice being wanted. Sure, it stinks sometimes playing solo as a tank lover. But there are upsides too, so its not all doom and gloom. And not a day goes by when a friend/guildmate pokes me and asks me to tank a random dungy for them, which is also always nice to get. And the gesture is all too often returned as well when I go "Hey friend, I need some of DAT THICC BIG BOI dps, are you busy because I need a fresh crater in map cordiantes Y, Z."

Please note this are my mere humble opinions, and experiences, also I am a newb. (I just hit CP 128 last night! Wuw wuw! getting super close to wearing big girl gears!)

    Best wishes!

Adapt your build to the task at hand. Full Stop.

So... if you are a tank or healer, spend a lot of gold constantly swapping from one build to the other, also have a complete set of gear for swapping around, etc.

If you are a DPS, continue life as normal, you're good!

    Yeah, that's not a solution, that's BS.

This is such a nonsense argument. Tanks and Healers make sense as a build only in the context of group play. If you are trying to farm a boss for an event, take two seconds and adapt your build to that task.

Like how do you play as a tank and healer in overland? Do you just run around spamming heals and taunting things and waiting for others to kill things for you? You have to do damage in this game unless you are in a group. You may think you are being helpful by overlanding in a support build, but news flash, it doesnt help anyone. These bosses don't need taunted, and good players build to be self sufficient when playing by themselves. They certainly don't need that random heal you are throwing out.

And for the record, I dont do this in a DPS build. I do it in an overland build. A proper overland build does damage, self heals, and is at least moderately tanky. For my toons that are specifically geared for tanking or heals, darn right I carry a damage setup for them. You are silly not to. Plenty of group fights in this game that dont require a given support role. Why wouldnt I want to contribute during those fights in some other way.

End of the day, either you have multiple alts, and this is not an issue, or you have one toon, in which case, it's just not that taxing to have an extra set of gear. Purple hundings/Julianos is all you need.

No, I carry around 4 separate sets of gear for different occasions.... 2 tank setups for dungeons, 1 for solo overland and 1 for stealth.

And still I get no loot on my tank, even in my overland set. It's just not possible to deal enough damage to a boss with 20+ other people hitting on it. And yet - it's a veritable loot piñata when I'm on my Damage Dealer.

I've had no issues on my support roles, but then again, I don't go in and plan to block or heal a boss to death. I put on a basic damage set like julianos, grab a staff and put out some damage.

I menanif you gonna try this hard to fail at an event atleast dry doing some damage world bosses don't need heals and debuffs just hit it with everything you got damage wise and don't stand in red I've gotten several drops on my tank all i did was put on shield bash and wep power pots. You are supposed to adapt to content not content adapting to you.

You want this event to be for everyone but when I wait for a world boss I heal and buff and debuff and use my destro staff and I get nothing. My friend who’s a tank experiences the same thing. This is not a good experience for 2/3 of your player base.

    Slot 1 damage skill.

I did WB on my 810 cp DD with all damage skills and got the loot from the 3rd try only. Heal with 1 dmg skill has no chance

You don't need a dps set up for WBs dropping in 3 secs. You just need 30k dps, which in a short period is best achieved by a single spammable. For the Imperfect, Templar puncturing sweeps or NB surprise attack will work. Don't need to weave, don't need to apply DoTs other than maybe a ground AoE at the beginning. The Crows are a little trickier because there are three. Only the main one will give full loot while the side ones will only drop a little gold. Standing in the center and spamming whirl wind or impulse will probably do the trick probably.

People are just impatient and panic lol. Every event the same thing. On 1st day its always packed everywhere and people buying pages and other items with crazy prices. Events last usually more than a week. Just chill and do other things. Let *** fight over the loot.
Now when the event is almost over you can do all WBs alone or with few people any time of the day. And you can buy all the pages cheap. I did AS and HoF all week with support roles lol no issues, fast groups. Got tons of pages and some motifs and sold them to impatient people who thought they not gonna get them If they dont buy all in first few days lol. I sold at least 30 style pages for 10-20k ea. And now I bought them all from guild stores for 2-5k ea lol.
OP try to relax next event and you dont miss out on anything.

This, note that my magplar healer overland build is the DD (off heal) with dropping an buff for rapid and dropping one Zaan piece for ring of wild hunt. Else its my DD setup or "healer" then just one heal and a buff works well.
Yes she have SPC, hollow fang thirst, earthgore and other healing / buffing tools.
Mix and match, one setup is SPC, powerful assault, and Zaan :)

Healers and magic DD is very close, you want more CP into healing but rest is in gear.
Tanks has more of an problem, still its quite possible, no you will not be an good DD but you don't need that for overland.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

As someone who made a tank of my first character: While building, I made a hybrid with rather a lot of points in both mag and stam as well as health. As I gained CP, I eventually hit a point where I respecced a lot of points into Health - but not 0-0-64: in fact I am still running 10-10-54.

I also run a double leech outfit (Bahrahas / Leeching Plate) which adds a considerable amount of damage that isn't counted on a DPS parse against a dummy, because dummies don't incur that damage because they never strike back..

I had to re-jig my CPs one more time, and change my gear, to get past the Ever Contracting Ring Of Doom in the Vateshran Hollows final boss. I don't think I could do that on veteran without a full respec of stats and skills to a DPS-type player, but I just about made it on Normal. (Incidentally, those void wraiths were another thing that my leeching armour does nothing against, because they too do not strike back.)

Just drop a destro and throw down a blockade the second it respawns. Chances are, you're probably not even going to be able to see it because of the lag, so you need to use ground dots/ultis.
Destro ulti has 2 second delay before damage starts, world bosses in CWC will be dead before even the first damage tick. (near prime time atleast). It's hilarious.

They should just remove the loot limit during events for related world bosses. Or, have the boss spawn some sort of instant negate when it spawns so all the pre-casted aoe abilities nearby get removed.
