Thoughts on your character's voice?

I hate it

I hate it and I wish she'd shut the hell up. It's so annoying to hear, "aaaahhh!" with every damn hit.
Personally I'd wish for more of a choice than we currently have.

My first character's voice sounded great and then when I leveled up to rank 10, she started clapping and laughing; sounded like she had a smokers cough. I had to delete her and restart.

@Luckylancer, Each race has its own player voice samples. So, "male voice E," is actually nine different actors. A couple do pull double duty. For example, Argonian M G and Orc M H are both Keith Szarabajka. And Imperial player characters just use the equivalent Breton voices.

Also turning into a Blood Scion needs some work. I thought it was putting a filter over your character's voice, but its actually not. ZOS if you could please fix this it'd be much appreciated because the voice all Blood Scions, regardless of gender apparently, are forced to use is just as ugly as the form itself.

Wait, they use the same voice? Really odd. If true then please add new voices or filter.

Btw, does anyone know of any full showcases of voices? Would be very nice to know.

Yes, this list is super useful! Helped me pick a decent voice, as the char creation preview is awful.

If you have an appearance/race change token you can access your sliders without using it. Don't want to make you go out of your way though, just curious though because I find all male voices too masculine. It's probably voice D anyway.

Voice D for male Nords is the one i use. I prefer that over the others.

I don't ever hear it, really. I actually wonder why we bother choosing one, since all we ever hear is a grunt or something a few times every play session.

It's funny how people say Nolan North voices almost everything, but he has nothing on Mr. Blum. You can even make it a drinking game and drink whenever you stumble upon a character voiced by him in ESO. The man does a lot of work.

If you play battlegrounds, your character actually talks. The only time they aren't a mute.

I like my 8 characters' voices, although I find it a bit annoying that all orsimer have raspy voices. Not sure why that was necessary. I think our characters would be even better if they had some actual voice lines, rather than just the non-verbal sounds.

It was just a hint that for a longer discussion, it's better to make a new thread, because the mods will close this one anway, as soon as they see it (something I dislike, btw, especially if it's a topic that still is relevant, but they do this all the time).

I mostly like the sounds, but it varies between races. I have already mentioned the hubby’s high elf templar that makes a ridiculous quacking sound. That’s the bad.

I love the Khajiit “HIYAAAAA” karate sound when she drops her ulti. My orc was a screamer with her jabs when I played her years ago, but I loved that too. She had the most humorous guffaw of a laugh that suited her perfectely.

I think, like others have said, the random voice sampler is inadequate to show all of the character sounds. I sit there for a while and they sound good but then later one character action will trigger a sound that I did not hear before.

I think one thing they could easily do is add new versions of the emotes for 'hello', 'goodbye' and 'thanks', in which your character actually says those things. I'm fairly sure appropriate soundclips for all of the playable voice types already exist to be used by NPCs.

Also, I know it's necro, but this thread has a poll, and it's unlikely anyone will make another one like it, so maybe leaving it open wouldn't be such a bad idea.
