100% Double Node Passive apply to surveys?

Can anyone on PTS confirm this? It could have a really strong reaction to the market if it does. I really hope so because it could finally drive down some prices for mats and even reduce the effectiveness of bot farming... which has long been a scourge on all platforms...

    yes, tested and confirmed.

I collected 12 surveys on the PTS with the passive and all 72 nodes were doubled.

Thank you for the confirmation!! That's pretty awesome. Rewarding the crafters among us finally - and hopefully we can start to quash those bot farmers with our own dedication and hard work for a change! That's put a HUGE smile on my face

The passive clearly says "yields from normal nodes" why would it specify normal if it is supposed to work with abnormal nodes? (Survey nodes)

So if it works with survey nodes, file a bug report. It's certainly not intended and would as you say, harm the economy. Perhaps not at the moment, where every realms suffer from inflation. But at some point.

EDIT: Just the possibility of this being intended, will make me do crafting dailys from now on to store up on surveys.

Survey nodes are pretty normal to me. They are the nodes that I normally interact with. With 18 characters doing daily writs thus producing surveys I hardly ever interact with any other kind of node.

One could say that the 'abnormal' nodes are the psijic ones; the tooltip specifies it as to not expect to get twice as much region specific gear from them.

Yeah, I don't know how PC or XBOX are, but trying to get a node out in the world in the base game is next to impossible against bots - so I'm really hoping this stands for survey nodes because they are pretty much the ONLY node safe from bots.

I'm sitting on tons of chromium plating, but I'm not worried about their prices dropping a bit. Especially since gold jewelry is already hard to craft at the current pricing.... I mean 1.5 million gold worth of mats into a fully gold jewelry set (on PS4 NA) is crazy flex time! lol.

But I'm glad that surveys will be of strong value finally, and that doing writs diligantly will pay off... it makes it genuinely feel like being a crafter is of value :) Bravo.

Language is the same on Live for the plentiful harvest passive, and it's always worked on Live for surveys.

I think the "normal" nodes in this case is meant to exclude things like heavy sacks, apothecary satchels, etc...

    I agree.

I don't really mind having smaller profits from materials at all even after being realistic and factoring in that I am not going to sell twice as much just because the price has halved.

Main chromium source for me is crafting writs.
Weirdly enough I tend to run out of platinum and ancestor silk from surveys. Sits on thousands of metal and wood on the other hand.

I also went node farming in Craglorn for nirncrux. I only found one but the node happened to give me both - potent AND fortified nirncrux at the same time. Tried to find more to see if it is just a coincidence but did not manage to get any mor nirncruxes.

That happened to me twice in about an hour of farming in Craglorn on PTS - in both cases that I found nirn, it was always 1+1, never two of one or one alone.

I guess this was seen as a more balanced solution to double potents and double fortifieds?

On the other hand, Pulverized Titanium seemed bugged only to drop 1, when everything else I could see benefitted in one way or another from the 100% guaranteed double CP node.

I agree the green tree is a step in the right direction as far as the RPG portion of this game goes. It's really the first time we've had something of strong value for those of us that like to play in a diverse variety of ways across all our toons.

I've long been frustrated with how little has been done about the bots - and to enhance the resource gathering via CP to make bot farming so much less viable is absolute genius on the part of Zenimax. It means they can ban bots, and not worry about them coming back because they'll NEVER hit CP and get these bonuses.... heck I'd be happy to see even more implimentation of such bonuses for the green CP tree if it gets rid of these scourge to base game areas that are preventing genuine players from farming.

Hopefully it´s intended and makes it to live. The current price levels of tempers are absolutely absurd and the new CP perk would definitely help to balance it out a bit.

On Xbox, the bots are in every single base game zone. From the ones spamming a single node, to running programmed path loops. Bot trains and Bot mobs are a real issue that ZOS has yet to openly acknowledge.

Remember that the current Harvester passive works with surveys on live. So why wouldn't the CP 2.0 version work with surveys?

Normal nodes in this case refers to harvest nodes, as opposed to mats that can be "harvested" from monsters, heavy sacks, wet gunny sacks, etc.

Now, it is true that during events, only the nodes "in the wild" will yield potentially double rewards, but it's also limited to a particular zone (with the recent Explorers Event as an exception).

Regardless, the double-harvest passive currently works with surveys on Live, so it's no surprise that the new version will work with surveys.

I do hope this might reduce the botting, but I suppose as long as there are players willing to buy from them, nothing will change. I don't look forward to Dreugh Wax falling below the 4.4K currently. Alloy and resin has crept up a bit, so I'm trying to sell as much as I can now while the price is high, since selling Wax is hard right now. Just my one trading guild has an entire page of Wax just sitting there, with sub 5K prices.

So, I'm preparing for lower prices on mats overall, which is somewhat unfortunate considering that most of my income comes from selling mats. But, maybe that will mean that the outrageous prices on dungeon/trial motif pages will come down if those players don't have to spend as much on alchemy and improvement mats.

I often (often as in when I actually get a drop) get the two together on live on PS4.

This is a very good point. Unless you have a really high amount of tempers there's literally no point in doing jewellery writs, the high writ ticket value other writs are way better to do.

I also find I have a massive bottleneck with zircon, not chromium, I hope this would help with that too.

This, then you do surveys you randomly get double amount. This is the double-harvest passive.
With CP 2.0 you can get this up to 100% at high cp, now at who CP can you make it 50% as its now?

Just that having a 10% chance to yield double from a survey node is an entirely different pair of shoes than having a 100% chance. Though I suppose it's ZoS' answer to the current economy.

Needless to say, I have just had all my characters absolve their certifications and primed that lazy writ addon so they can stock up on surveys for me. The first round already yielded good results.
What a lovely Update this is going to be if I put aside some of the negatives. Really looking forward to the changes.

A little concern I had: Has someone tried refining materials with the new passive? I have refined thousands of raw materials and have not gained a single golden material. Normally I see a roughly 10% for those on live.

Apparently that 'passive' is not currently working as intended.

This is from the current patch notes:

'Meticulous Disassembly: This passive is currently not working when used in tandem with the max rank of some crafting skill passives.'
