Really to all those that believe that our racial passives should mean something end game, follow lore and should pigeonhole what you can effectively do with that race: Shalidor the great mage was a Nord. Not a Breton, not a long lived High Elf but a Nord. He is still revered by all Mages to current day. Now he would never have been able to achieve such greatness if he was they typical Nord when it came to magic. He was not. He was extraordinary, of a completely different mold from his kin. So too should be the characters we play in game. Cut from a different cloth than the normal wheat and chaff of our kin.
I am not saying we should not have any racial bonuses that help define the race, we should they simply should have little to no impact end game.
Just because the majority of players are not trying to be meta does not mean they do not want to be effective. If they like how a Breton looks and want to be stamina dps I get it that it's their choice. The choice should not be so punishing.
