The announcement for the event starting 23rd January was released on 22nd last year. Are we going to get more notice this year? I can take some time off but not with 1 day's notice.

Well given that events usually starts on a Thursday it will be either the 21st or the 28th. My money would be on the latter as the reveal stream of Gates of Oblivion was supposed to be on the 21st before they moved it, but it's just a guess.

Why? They ran it in June when performance was what it is now.

I figured now they've stopped the Indriks they'd cut back on events too, and that one was only bought in for the Indriks in the first place so guessed on it not happening

I didn't see it on the January crown store showcase; I assumed it was going to be in July as a result. I could be wrong though.

Remember that time they gave out the start date for like, an entire quarter's events?

    Remember how nice that was?

But didn't they then change the dates of some, and everyone raged because they'd made plans around them? I seem to remember a lot of "how can they do this, I booked time off!" posts

I just hope that MYM will be Cyro OR IC quests, not both... so we could chose.

Previously it was 1 event ticket for Cyro daily and 1 event ticket for IC daily - so you did not had any choice but you had to do both. This caused so much unnecessary traffic and queue times (people were queued for both Cyro & IC).

Also... IC kinda sucks and is ultra-toxic. It is small area with a lot of ppl with mixed PvE & PvP... So even if you make a stealth - build and sneak to avoid being zerged down - it is still very annoying & even stressful to some degree.

It would be nice if we could "chose" - Cyro or IC or BGs to get event tickets this time.

I hated they added IC to it too, especially as they still had another IC event. For both I did all the quests on a few characters a few days early while it was still quieter, then just logged in and handed one in a day - then totally ignored it! I don't even care that the only holiday achievement I don't have is the patrolling horrors one :D

I remember like 1 guy did that, and everyone roasted him for it.

It sucks that someone's plan were inconvenienced but its a small price to pay for all players having some ability to plan out their week. For instance now is the perfect time to do those 6 imperial quests across 15+ alts so you can have a spare 180 coffers to turn in over the next year and sell a few extra timbercraw costumes

    Edit: Oh and its both
So I get to farm sewer bosses for style pages again this year, oh boy.

@madrab73 I’d say midyear will likely run 28th-feb 11 as they announced linchal manor will be available for sale then and that was usually there during midyear.

Performance is always better during Midyear Mayhem. Whether they rent more server capacity, loosen the Akamai bottleneck or what, I don't know. But PvP performance always improves during events...... then goes back to the usual level of dysfunction afterwards.

It's there, under events. "Single Event Tickets will be available in the Crown Store on all platforms for a limited time during Midyear Mayhem. Stay tuned for event details! Event Tickets are also giftable to other players from within the Crown Store."

My guess is it'll start this coming Thursday, with one or two days notice. Maybe try asking them on twitter?

Just finished leveling and gearing my gank PvP character...ahh sweet times ahead.

And before someone gets their feathers in a bunch I don’t gank pve players doing quests. If I see you’re just doing quest I leave you be, unless you hit me. My ganking is reserved for the back line squishes of your group. :)

Great. ESO communication has moved to Twitter instead of here?
Thank you for the information though. Now we can all screenshot the Tweet and communicate it to our friends by copying and pasting it in Discord.

They're working from home though during these trying times. Let's be glad they were able to manage a tweet at least.

Well, yes, if you believe that that is the point of PvP events, then I agree that zero is too many. I happen to think that the intent of MYM is to encourage and reward PVP, since it is a major activity of the game and events should cater to as much of the playerbase as possible. Not that each event needs to do that, but that events as a whole should. But what do I know?

I've taken to doing all the days worth of IC quests on a bunch of toons before the event when the IC is still pretty quiet and you can get things done there without having to worry as much about the toxic gankers and rolling balls of werewolves. It's still stressful but MUCH less than during the event and then all you have to do is go into the sewers once a day and turn a quest in for your tickets. The only annoying part about doing it is going up and down the ladders to collect all the dailies first so you can just go district to district.

I'm actually kind of tempted to jump into a super dead Cyro campaign (lmao all of them then?) and get the dailies all done there too so I just have to turn them in each day as well, since ZoS doesn't like my previous awful behaviour of "healing randos I'm not grouped with".

    @PizzaCat82

I’d say it’s more of an event for PvP players too enjoy compared to the many pve events through the year. If pve players join that’s great but you should be properly geared and ready to face other players. Just like PvP players have to be during pve events that take us into dungeons.

    Yes.

Usually someone will repost a good guide on how to avoid actually dealing with other players to get your daily tickets. There are always scouting quests, which you can do stealthed up and now if you have a Ring of the Wild Hunt it will take half the time it used to. Some of the IC dailies are okay depending on the time of day and the server population; if you are able to go in the wee hours of the morning when there's hardly anyone there it helps, just never go right after rollover because that's when the noob nunters are at full force. I'd take the time before the event starts to max your stealth and speed by every means possible and maybe also make an annoyingly tanky build so if you get caught you can just self-heal and block until they get bored and go away. Also remember to never have any Tel Var on you in IC so if you do get ganked by a noob hunter they get nothing but a few AP for it.

Please don't compare PVP to joining dungeons. I've done every dungeon in this game, most on HM. Its nothing like PVP.
