My main has about 6.5mil, I have probably close to 2mil in uncollected trade mails, and my other 9 chars have an average of 300k. So it'd be probably very close to 10mil.

On PC NA I've currently got between 5 million and 6 million. I think I'd gotten over 6 million about a month ago, but then I did a bunch of master writs and had to buy some expensive motif pages and rare style materials to complete some of them. I've been playing on PC NA since the end of August, 2017, so not quite 3.5 years now. After spending all of my gold on bank upgrades and pack upgrades for all of my characters, I started spending it on buying the player housing in ascending order by price, so it was hard to reach 1 million, then once I'd acquired all of the less expensive properties I'd start buying another one as soon as I got over 1 million, but then I decided to pause on that. I've still got several houses I haven't bought yet, but now I mostly save my gold and spend it on motif pages and crafting materials.

On PC EU I've currently got between 2 million and 3 million. I had over 2 million, then bought a couple of houses in zones that I didn't own any properties in yet-- I like to have a house in a zone whenever one of my characters starts questing through that zone, for "free teleportation" reasons, so if I don't already have one there then I'll buy the least expensive one. That knocked me back down to between 1 million and 2 million, but I've gotten back to over 2 million again. I didn't start playing on the PC EU server until the Summerset Pathfinder Event where everyone worked together to earn the free pet, mount, and Psijic villa.

I used to go on thieving runs in Vivec City to farm gold for bank upgrades and pack upgrades, until I discovered that the Daggerfall docks are a better location for that. Now I just do daily crafting writs on all of my characters, although I didn't start doing that on both servers at the same time, which is part of the reason why I don't have as much gold on PC EU as on PC NA.

I would make the options ranges, which I think was your intention, and I would eliminate combine the lowest options to 0 to 10k or even 0 to 100k and then the highest option over 1 billion.

The most I’ve ever had at once was a bit over a million, but I’ve made and spent much more than that as I’m into housing, crafting, etc.

Yes, but in my case it actually helps, since I was able to pick the best answer that fits both servers that I play on.

I don't see the point in trying to get billions in gold. I still do trading when I feel like it, and usually end up using the gold to buy green and blue tempers to make free low level gear for guildmates. Been playing since beta.

If there's something in the game that you can spend a currency on, then I understand the point of trying to accumulate that particular currency.

Once you've bought all available housing that can be purchased with in-game gold, what is there left to spend your gold on? All I can think of-- besides the gold sinks of paying to use waystations without having to travel to them first, or paying to apply outfit styles to your gear and dying it-- are the things for sale from guild traders, or to bid on guild traders. So after a certain point, what's the value in acquiring even more?

Right now I could easily wipe out my gold balances on both servers by purchasing some more playing housing, plus I've still got a lot of motif pages and style pages that I haven't acquired yet, so I'll keep farming gold every day and saving up. But once I've gotten those things off of my ESO bucket list, I'll probably stop farming gold and just play the game, because I have zero interest in trying to manipulate the game's economy by playing the item-flipping game.

I just hit 25m the other day, but then again, I also buy expensive random stuff all the time and also with guild donations and raffles. If I was just saving every single gold I've ever gotten, I'd probably be worth around 40m. But meh, having that much gold doesn't mean much anyways.

I make gold fairly easily, about 1 million a week when I spend time farming in Craglorn. So making gold isn't the problem.

It's that I spend it.
Every time I make more than around 8 million, I start going "Do I really want to grind for that motif/style page? Nah." Or, "Hmm, I could buy and decorate that house!"

And then I drop below 5 million, and then I'm like "Ah! I need to farm and make more gold!"

I've probably spent over twice what I have over the course of five years playing ESO.

Edit, just noticed the second part of the poles question about how long we have been playing:

I started in December 2018, that said my gold was nearly empty as of July this year, I had a lot built up and just could not be bothered doing daily writs for quite a few months I was down to a few hundred thousand gold.

When I started doing writs again, had a lot of surveys sitting in my bank and a large amount of upgrade mats I had not gotten around to selling yet, once I did all those I went back up to the 7M mark after that it was just doing writs daily and selling stuff I got from them, combine that with the mat price inflation we have been seeing these last few months, eventually brought me to the 30M or so I have now.

It will go up a bit more but with work starting back up I am going to be ignoring writs for the first few months of next year.
