Well, this really doesn't give me faith in the devs that they can handle a complete rework of some of this game's core mechanics. Best bet for them should be "If it's not broken, don't touch it".

Well, i was testing to help, and they added a little bonus with the AP. That would have help for the test to have more people, and while those who dont do much pvp usually would have done, the results would have been a good way to know what to do for ESO.

After seeing how the testing is going on, with very few people joining, with no intensive to lure them, and a wild long silence from ESO, i will return to my green herb pve without expecting more from pvp.

it was fun, i mixed IC and CYro for some days, completed a alot of things, and none with double AP, so i can be proud of what i did, even little compared to the big pvpers :)

Maybe they simply do not need great many people participating to test what they want to test and do not want extra riffraff messing with servers for duration.

It is probably due to the convoluted way that AP is applied. There are so many calculations that have to be updated and they didn't get it in the first pass... IMO, it is probably a sign that someone needs to refactor the code and make it simpler to apply double AP.

    Playing since beta...

Then why do you just have to use Pelinals scroll to get double ap during Midyear Mayhem ? Use it - everything works. Why ZOS didn't just let us use this scroll is beyond me.

That's why I quoted my Keep wall and door repair figures.

Normally a fixed range of 49 to 69 AP per repair. 69 AP with Home Keeps and Scrolls - maybe a little more with bonuses.

Last week I was getting double AP per repair, and suddenly Monday morning double AP was switched off when Test 2 started.

With all the difficulty playing with AoE cool-downs there is no incentive to play without the double AP.

And now imagine these devs messing around with ESO's core combat system. Game will be unplayable for years.

However it worked perfectly during all other double AP events like the previous one this year.
I suspect it might be that they did not want people to get double AP in IC or BG? who is standard for double AP.
You can do kill enemy players Cyrodil quests in IC, and it was an IC event on, did you get double AP in IC during event before the test?
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

To be clear, you should be receiving double AP from player kills, player healing, and keep/outpost/resource captures, and those values will contribute toward AVA Rank and Leaderboards. AP is not doubled from Cyrodiil quests, due to how this needed to be setup. (...)

I read this as if repair AP will not count for the double AP. I know that "repairs" are calculated like heals, but maybe its differentiated between players and NPC units (+ buildings).

Imo this is already progress. We can already get MOST double AP towards Campaign rewards and ranks (didnt check that myself) - sacrificing the wall repair doesn't hurt much.

Unless - If your main source of AP is repairs, and you keep asking for incentive to test the AOE changes... wall repairs are not part of those tests, so if that is what you do - you don't deserve the double AP - you gave no incentive :-/

Yes - I understand your comment.

The problem is that AP gains can very considerably. Last week I had a Keep defense tick of 138K AP and a Keep capture tick of 28K AP - it varies alot.

At least Keep repairs are a fairly consistent value of AP - so easy to prove if double AP is being given for these tests.

If it is quiet I do repairs - it helps my campaign/faction, but I get alot more AP from offensive and defensive play. Note that during Midyear Mayhem repairs do count double.

I mean, they tried to implement double AP for certain activities - and accidentally turned on the frelling Witches Festival.
    How?!? :D

I seem to be getting double AP from everything but wall repairs. Good enough for me.

Performance did take a noticeable hit this week compared to last...

Gina mentioned that not all activities in Cyrodiil would grant double AP. It’s not quite the same as the Midyear Mayhem buff with double AP for absolutely everything.

No it isn't. Tested it 1 min ago. Seems to be intended that repairs don't give double AP.

Double AP doesn't seem to work for RotW either. Yesterday I got 150k AP but only 3 reward coffers.

    Yes

I think they intentionally left out repairing and quests so we try AOE changes etc

But defense, capture, kill and healing work
