Genuine question: are there any plans to improve combat?

The combat in this game has gotten worse over time.

Snares and roots make the combat annoying.

Abilities not firing when trying to activate because:
1. I hit the button to active ability, swap bars and ability didn't fire.
2. It's an "instant" cast ultimate and it got interrupted or you interrupted it.
3. I'm trying to fire an ability, but because my reticle wasn't perfectly on my opponent it didn't go off.
4. I activated my "instant" ability but it's a melee attack so if my target slightly moves out of range my attack stops mid animation.

Tab targeting is useless. I can have my opponent highlighted but if there's a pet in the way my attacks prioritize the non-highlighted enemy.

Block cancelling animations feels satisfying and speeds up the combat. Removing the ability to do this on a lot of moves just makes this game feel like a generic MMO rather than one that originally attracted me to it because of its combat.

And this isn't even addressing proc sets which continuously make PvP less and less desirable to play.

    I really get annoyed with all the snares and roots the mobs have. It's as if the combat team can't come up with anything else.... And on a new 50 CP20... LORDY it's awful (my second account EU main.... gonna be a while before I do anything but Master Writs on her.... the combo of mega-ping because satellite is my only connect plus the awfulness of being a sponge when it comes to staying alive.... Ugh.)

    The way i figure it is if your happy with your weaving and block cancelling then you should also be happy with your abysmal performance. They cant be separated.
    It's 0.0666 of a second to midnight.

    The way i figure it is if your happy with your weaving and block cancelling then you should also be happy with your abysmal performance. They cant be separated.

    That's not accurate. The game has had better performance in the past with old weaving options.

    Yup. The tests themselves are probably a good indicator of the direction ZOS wants combat to go going forward.

    It’s funny I was fighting the western Skyrim world bosses the giant boss alone has two snares, and a root/stun that his adds spam on the player. The WW world boss has a gap closer stun/snare. All three NPCs can root/snare. The really annoying moments in the game are when I lose control of my character. Even some little skeever can tag my mount flying by and somehow apply a 70% snare.

    in beta and at launch we did not have break free, the "break free" is what ruined eso pvp in my opinion.
    it is Very disturbing and anger inducing - i hate it and it should never have been injected and forced on us.
    the break free and force hold people in place skills need to be removed from combat completely just as it was in beta and at launch.
    there are people who actually believe that this is helping pvp and they claim that without these skills no one would ever die, and that idea is not only rediculas, it is false and completely without merit.

    In the beginning we also had abilities like unstoppable that players could use to effectively counter snares/disabling effects.

    But I don't like all the stun/disabling crap either. It just makes the combat more annoying in my opinion. And it's pretty bad on this game. Honestly if it wasn't for Mist Form I doubt I would even be able to stomach PvP on this game because of all the stuns and disabling crap. That's the one ability that makes it tolerable for me.
