What counts for Z'en's Redress' tally of DoTs?

It is well known that:
  • Single-target DoTs count for Z'en's Redress.
  • Ground-based AoE DoTs do not.

But what about the other possibilities?
  • Do multitarget or AoE DoTs such as Reflective Light or Engulfing Flames count? (I'd guess yes.)
  • Do status effects that tick over time, such as Burning or Poisoned, count? (I'm pretty sure yes, but which ones do that?)
  • Is this one of the rare cases where a set proc can proc another set? (I'd guess no.)

Any DoT that is placed on an enemy will work.

When I say "placed on an enemy" I mean not on the ground below him, the enemy must have DoT visible as if it were a debuff
[*] Do multitarget or AoE DoTs such as Reflective Light or Engulfing Flames count? (I'd guess yes.)

Yes as long as they leave a DoT on the enemy (as engulfing flame does; after being hit the enemy can move but the DoT will just follow him unlike, let's say, wall of elements which does not count)
[*] Do status effects that tick over time, such as Burning or Poisoned, count? (I'm pretty sure yes, but which ones do that?)

Yes again; the healers or magDK usually running this set aims to have 4 DoTs from their skills and use burning as 5th dot. Poison would also work.
[*] Is this one of the rare cases where a set proc can proc another set? (I'd guess no.)

That depends on what the other set does; if you talking about sets like VAS staff or BSW they both proc burning (so yes). Probably DoTs left by sets like Valkyn or Alkosh would also be counted (can't confirm tho) since they are placed on the enemy while some other like ilambris/ghrotdar would not since they are ground dependant (Note the burning eventually proccing from such sets hits would count tho)

I think also yes. I'm pretty sure that zaan works. Technically, the set procs from light attacks and not from the dot, which just scales the debuff, so I guess we can argue that it doesn't break the rule.

In general, if you can see a dot effect that sticks to the target in the ui or in the debuff pannel of combat metrics then it counts for z'en.

    Thanks!

Anyhow, Alcast claims that Chilled and Concussed leave "very small" DoTs. https://alcasthq.com/eso-status-effects/
    UESP says otherwise. https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Chilled

    Which is correct?

Chilled & concussed are not a dot, they are direct damage followed by 4 second debuff of maim/vulnerability

    This is correct AFAIK @FrancisCrawford

    Never seen such DoTs;

Chilled Comes with Minor Maim Debuff (not a DoT tho)
Concussed comes with Minor Vulnerability another debuff (still not a DoT), also can bring to Off-Balance

Only ones i've seen with DoTs are Fire and Poison
