Crimson Twilight, another vampire themed set that is doomed to be for tanks

WHY?

All vampire sets in greymoor have seemingly been made for tanks/stam users. I do NOT understand. The vampire skill line is not a tanking line.....vamps in ESO aren't really about tanking either. I'd be fine with this if SOME OF the sets, the monster mask, and the mythic item didn't revolve around stam/tanking. At the very least the mask shouldn't be disease dmg. It should be magic damage....

I think it's because of how much they want vampires to rely on health. The issue with that is damage for every single vampire ability is scaled off max magicka and spell damage. So if a vampire decided to build into health the only way they'd have similar damage as before is if they hurt themselves.

I don't really like where ZOS is taking vampire builds as it doesn't work very well in practice, and managing my health to deal more damage feels more like a chore than a fun mechanic. Reason being is it's the one resource pool you can't have hit 0, ever. If it does that's game over.

It'd be interesting if they introduced a new resource dmg from health that works with vamp abilities.

But even then it wouldn't really work because vamps only have 1 damage ability.....and I couldn't see people building around just that.

Which is another reason why the whole direction is just rediculous. Funny to how they're trying to make vampires build around one damage dealing skill, and then they nerfed it. Also an ability stamina builds can't use.

This is also kind of wack, I feel. I wonder if eviscerate will even be worth taking if these exact nerfs go through? I'm giving up being a safe distance away to fight something in melee range wearing light armor. If I'm not doing a ton of damage, what makes it better than my class spammable? And why should I take vampire that makes my class spammable cost more?

Exactly! In my case I might as well just drop vampire and pick up Flame Lash again. Now there is an ability that can be comfortably used in melee range thanks to the heal and extra damage it can put out if I target an immobilized or off balance target.

I think this set seems pretty neat, maybe needs a bit more tweaking for combat efficiency. I’m using it as weapon and jewelry so I can get around the heavy armor

I'm a little late to this party, but as much as zos ruins my breakfast, and I could agree with several things said about vamps, I am enjoying my "blood mage" with the crimson set and earthgore procing all the time. But then again, the point of my build is to have fun, no way could I even approach best dps or best anything for that matter. And when I say "enjoy" here, I've given up on all my expectations. You guys need to relax and give up on anything and just have fun. [snip]

Had ZOS been smart and introduced major lifesteal into the line, slot of these problems could have been avoided. But instead of fighting like a vampire, it's now the bloodfiend simulator.

A painfully accurate bloodfiend simulator with a one time use steroidal boost! (aka ultimate)

I want vampire to work and I've tried every single combination with my Dragonknight kit since it came out. Even tried using Vampiric Drain in hopes of seeing if I could find a use in PVP and PVE, but the skill ultimately failed unless I had 40k+ HP and CC immunity. Without CC immunity one stun or bash and now your heal is put on a 3 second cooldown.

After the nerf to Eviscerate I can't even justify running Arterial Burst over Flame Whip since the whip actually gives better sustain at stage 1 than Eviscerate due to the flame status procs feeding my Combustion passive. And Race Against Time is a better getaway tool than Mistform... I think I've hated on this skill line enough. I should just move on :disappointed:
