Just how it looks and what it's called.
The outfit station was added to the game much later.
The dye station has the basic look from when dying was introduced to the game.
I guess the outfit one would be for RP'ers that want it to specifically say outfit (and look nicer) vs. just a basic dye station.
I thought the dye station just lets you dye the clothes you are wearing at the time.
The outfit station allows you to dye any clothes in your library.

This ^ and a outfit station lets you change any style and whatnot.
If you did have a dye station before the outfit station, they were retroactively changed (other than appearances), and any dye stations bought after the release of the outfit station is only a dye station hence the price difference.

All dye stations, regardless of when you acquired it, behaves the same as an outfit station.
The only reason to get an outfit station instead of a dye station is the aesthetic appearance of the station. They are always functionally identical, and it doesn't matter if you got it before or after the introduction of outfitting.

I just noted that Rolis Hlaalu sells dye station for 35 writ vouchers while Faustina Curio sells outfit station for 500 writ vouchers. It seems both have same functions, so I just wonder what's the difference between them?
