A Server Just For Cheaters

I know there are cheaters in the game. I've seen some of them make videos in Cyrodil and BGs and post them on youtube. The ones I am referring to are using some kind of cheat engine type hack and simply don't care if they get caught. Some are even selling their hacks on the Internet for many types of games.

But using Macros just isn't going to work due to all the different scenarios. Some players are simply just that good. They can animation cancel quickly and pop skills off with light attacks between each skill in what seems to be a mere few seconds or less. I've watched many people parse on the Dummy's and their characters look like they are having spasms they are moving so quickly.

No Macros involved at all. Now I cannot do as well as they can and usually get about half of the DPS they do. My old fingers just ain't that quick! LOL.

Yeah macros don’t make any sense in this game really feel like players just blame macros for something they don’t understand, which may actually be someone using a real cheat engine or just a player who knows how to animation cancel very well. I suppose to the untrained eye it could seem like either.

Going out on a limb here & possibly looking foolish but what is "animation cancellation"? Are they some how able to cast quicker then the animation? I can keep hammering the same skill but the animation just keeps slowing me down so is this a cheat or an addon or what?

Basically the game is designed to "weave" light attacks in between spells. So you cast a light attack, then use a spell, then another light attack, then another spell, rinse and repeat.

What happens is that when you cast a light attack, because weapon attacks are on a different cooldown than abilities, you can hit the ability immediately after the light attack. This causes the light attack animation to not happen, and the ability to go off.

So the net result is 2 attacks in the same span of time. This was not intended, the devs even said so. It is an exploit that they could not fix, so they embraced it.

So that is what "animation cancelling" is. You are casting abilities immediately after the light attack. This increases your DPS output. Sadly many use the DPS offered by animation cancelling as being normal or accepted but bad latency can affect this making folks with bad latency not be able to perform animation cancelling properly, which leads to lower DPS, not BAD DPS, just lower...but the folks who accept animation cancelling and the DPS it affords as being normal/accepted will often see the DPS of one who does not animation cancel as being sub-par.

It's something the devs should have fixed long ago instead of embracing, because it is not an action all players can perform in game.

I fall into that group, during prime time I might as well not even bother as my latency seems to bop between 130 (not bad) to 999+ (somewhere in the toilet) so many times my bow attacks won't fire off at all as what I see is not what is happening - I no longer even bother with pvp during prime gaming time but I miss out on the ap that can only come from a big battle :(

Thats not true, thats just an excuse. There are many players who have latency upwards of 500+ who can constantly hit 100k+ on a dummy or top 10 parses on esologs on vet trials. The only thing affecting light attack weaving and APM is jitter which is unreliable latency or ping spikes. If you have a constant and steady lag there is nothing that will make you perform worse than a player who has a 150 ping. If you're in Cyrodiil however the player who has a lower ping is going to destroy probably every time you try to engage them, which is why some of the best PvPers in the game are next door to their servers like SypherPK was when he played the game.

And just because you got destroyed by someone in Cyrodiil it doesnt make them a cheater, just like any other online game. I've been playing this game since beta weekly and in and out of Cyrodiil and I have never encountered a cheater except for seeing some people in some youtube videos who are flying around or something.

I am fed up of dealing with cheaters in Cyrodil - you know the ones, they are OBVIOUSLY using macros in combat & exploiting bugs ruthlessly

Because Zos cares so little about the law abiding players experience in game & only care about the money - I have a suggestion: Once someone is caught cheating just throw them onto a server with other cheaters. If they want to cheat then let them play with others who have as little regard for playing fair. They can cheat to their hearts content but then they can't cry foul when another cheater out cheats them!

    Just a thought.

I can totally get behind this. If ZOS is afraid to lose them as players, then by all means give them their own server and let the rest of us play in peace. :-)

Some are more obvious than others, Last night I saw a Sorc just vanish while being attack by ME and one other, I saw it twice so it wasn't a random encounter and it wasn't an invis pot, its like he Streaked away without the animation

He might have ported to IC, Porting to Cyrodil is an common tricks in IC to get out with lots of telvar. Once activated you will port out even in combat, its more fun if an whole group port at once :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The only people who are happy to play with cheaters are probably cheaters themselves - cheaters are people who purposely use exploits in game to get an edge as well as those who use cheat engines. Add the lag & why bother with cyrodil?

If people think they are good enough to take on cheaters then by all means use the cheater server & get your participation trophy.

No, he was coming back in the same area ~ 10-30 seconds later. Can't remember exactly because that was 5 month ago and you picked up a very old post....

As a non-pet sorc since 2016 the U46 Patch Notes sound like: "Those who do not wish to interact with the pet gameplay can now replace this skill line eso as a whole."
