I bought the boar back when it was released, i had to 😆 and i love the packrat, it's very cute. I was wondering if the bag slots stack and will i then have 10 extra slots in total ?

The line between p2w and not p2w is thin, and sometimes subjective. My personal opinion, that everything, that could provide any amount of convenience, but cannot be acquired by ingame means, is p2w. Since there is no way I could get 205 slots, no matter how much time I spend ingame playing, and since even 5 slots can be of need, if you finish all pledges in a row, rat is mild p2w.

Would be cool if every pet gave 5 extra inventory slots... the more you collect, the bigger your inventory.

PS: Inventory slots are just convenience, not pay-to-win in my opinion!

    Yeah no.

If it isn't making your character more powerful or more effective at their job then it isn't p2w. You aren't any more likely to "win" at any task in game by having more bag space. Those five slots will never help you clear a trial, parse higher on a dummy, or give you a victory you wouldn't already have earned in pvp. You aren't doing any more winning as a result of the bag space than you were without it.

Now if this were a hardcore survival game where your character might live or die by how much loot it could carry back to its base and convert into useful materials you'd have a point.

It's not a big advantage, but additional inventory space does allow you to carry a wider variety of specialized gear and consumables. This could then allow you to better optimize your loadout for specific fights.

Additional inventory slots also reduce the frequency with which you need to vendor (or otherwise manage) loot, which increases the rate at which you can complete content.

In other words, "convenience" is definitely a mild form of p2w. Whether it's an objectionable form or not is a harder question.

I can't even begin to imagine what sort of 12+ hour poop-socking marathon runs of bleeding edge content where you're changing gear for every fight but somehow not taking breaks betwen fights you'd have to be running for those five inventory slots to be impacting how quickly you're burning through content.

You won't believe, but it is often a real problem if your trial character is not another fresh-made FOTM toon, but same character you PVP on, trade, quest etc... inventory is cluttered with different "museum" collectibles, several PVP setups, several PVE setups... and prove of this is that there is ALWAYS somebody in raid group who asks to summon trader/banker.
12+ hours lol? Lol. LMAO. It is enough to raid for couple of hours to get even relatively free inventory filled to the top.

And how much extra time during that multiple hour run is 5 inventory slots going to save you? Even in an ideal situation where everyone in your group has those extra slots? And how often does that ideal situation actually happen?

Also "Lol. LMAO" at not banking your pvp gear before going into trials and not taking the time to turn in your museum pieces if inventory space is legitimately slowing your progress. If you are that bad at inventory management you're going to fill up those extra slots with irrelevant junk anyway.

Lol.. you can get 200 bag space for free by playing the game and people are complaining about that 5/10 extra bagspace you can get for owning a pet... grow up..

You can get what 210 inventory slots 480 bank space, + space in your house to store items, + alternative characters bag space? 9x200=1800 bagslots and if you get really desperate you can even make your own private guild and use the guildbank to store items.

There's plenty of space to store items, those 5/10 slots aren't pay to win lmao.

SOMEONE has to pay crowns for the pet, it's irrelevant whether it's your crowns or your neighbor's.

I really wish that optional bank space would be added by 10 per chapter. 10 slots once a year, at the same scaling price we have in game (so it'd be over 100k by now for that extra 10 slots), would help alleviate some of the inventory stress added with all the new mats, styles, gear, motifs, recipes, and fragments that come each year, but would be low enough that people would still need to be mindful about what they're holding.

10 extra bag slots = 1 extra round of Alik’r Doleman farming! More space to carry more crap basically.

Kind of nice on a solo build though I’m not gonna lie. Carrying the extra equipment to swap when soloing 4 man dungeons is a nice convenience to have when I need more tankiness, dps or sustain for certain sections. Not that I ever really go over more than say 180 items in my inventory at once anyway but when I had 100 bag space those extra slots made a difference.

Since mythic items only replace other gear and don’t have their own slot, I would say they’re as p2w as BoP gear locked behind DLC (Lokkestiiz, Relequen, False God’s, etc.). If that fits your definition of p2w, then all of that is p2w; if it doesn’t, none of it is.

While it’s true that you can now get access to those DLC with crowns or in-game gold, for two years running the BiS stam sets have been locked behind chapters that were cash-only for a year each (Summerset and then Elsweyr). Mythic items are not any different in that regard. They will have their year of being cash-only, and then they should be available for crowns/gold.

@heaven13 already articulated this point well - that's not buying pets with in-game gold; crowns are still required in the transaction. You can't get these pets without you or someone else being suckered into the cash shop.

I'll add to their remark that ESO also has no built-in marketplace for players to exchange crowns-and-gold with other players safely and risk free. Which is, quite frankly, unacceptable for a game of this stature. I and many other players will not participate in such exchanges unless the developer does their job and makes it safe and secure for both parties.

When we can actually buy pets for in-game gold that'll be a step in the right direction for this game. It certainly would make this rubbish of cash shop exclusive inventory expansions less disgusting.

It is definitely pay to win. There is no other way to acquire it unless you pay. You get extra carrying capacity that only those that bought the pets get. You are not increasing your inventory to the max available in the game by speeding up the process, but instead you are suppressing the max in game inventory. The max in the game is 200, while those that buy both of the pets have 5% more inventory. This is the definition pay to win. It may not change much in the game, but it is still pay to win.

If the same thing was applied to speed for a horse, where someone can ride 5% faster than the rest of the people in Cyrodiil (assuming they don't disconnect in the process)... would you consider that pay to win. This is the same thing.

As long as an injection of actual cash is required to obtain something, it is pay to win. Doesn't matter who buys it.

I think the P2W with inventory slots ship has sailed. Craft bag is unlimited slots if you pay the monthly sub. I’m glad to have the option of a few more, although 5 seems a little low, 10 would be a nicer number for a paid upgrade.
