Thanks vm. Why is it always EU?

The PC-EU server is our most popular and highest population server and also has more condensed prime time hours compared to the North American servers (mostly due to time zones). Prime time is also earlier than in North America, so on launch days like today, our European players are usually the first to encounter and call out issues.

Are you planning to maybe create 2 servers for EU? EU West and EU East for example. (Like League of Legends does it)

Cause we have a crappy server since forever! When will they actually consider EU as a real client base....let someone else manage EU in EU perhaps ;)

Probably the "Vampires of Skyrim" ate all the "blood" from the EU server and gave it to ZOS to make the vaccin to cure the infected EU server with Coronavirus"

I hope the vaccin will be available soon.

that and the other issue : too many contriess assigned to this server why not create another one..we would be happier ...and you guys too with less complains just saying..

Every release, every event... the same issues every damn time over again. ZOS will you never learn? will you never listen to your player base?

What good is fantastic new content if we cant even log in to enjoy it. PLEASE invest what needs to be invested to upgrade the server capacity asap?

I know the Covid situation hasn't made things easier on you and you cant be blamed for that. But insufficient server capacity was an issue long before that hit us. And I cant imagine you cant put two and two together and realize when a new release like this is launched, that will drasticaly increase server load. So it cant possible come as a surprise that we are having these issues UNLESS you actually invest in some increased server capacity! Or whatever it takes, split the EU playerbase up into multiple servers if that's the problem.

I can only conclude that you just don't give a flying hmm duck but keeping your shareholders pockets flowing.

I am already regretting I bought the damn chapter :(

So, if we are the largest population, we are not some, those who cannot play. Don't get me wrong, I am not desperate and I understand the problems but the words have power, and I think they are not entirely sincere.

Today it's actually my four month aniversary since starting ESO and have sort of hoped spending it playing the game. It's half past nine pm and I have to be up at six for work tomorrow :( . Won't bash anyone, since stuff happen, but can't help being kind of disappointed.

    Thanks for replying.

On the previous occasion, after the last update, the exact same thing happened and I remember a request for info.
I've posted some, but did you see that post? It's over here:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/6782425/#Comment_6782425

If so, is that useful, do you need more or different information?
In short, can we help in any way?
If you need information, what kind, can you give us a sample of what kind of response would be useful?
Obviously people are frustrated and disappointed, but if we can do something about it, that might help.
Otherwise people will just vent and that might on occasion be funny, help give a feeling of at least I am not alone, but it'll not actually make things happen faster.

This is, btw, a big problem.
It is not some players, most of my guild is affected and many have already given up.
When I was in game, people were CONSTANTLY complaining about this issue.
And it is not the first time..
That this does NOT happen on NA has caused some people to go there to diddle around, which isn't very useful as it accounts for nothing on PC EU.
And it is weird, isn't it? Should be comparable infrastructure, everything, yet NO issue there at all?
When Alyennnah is not here, she's probably crafting. Quite possibly at Alyennah's Crafting in Wayrest. Or maybe she's out there, looking for new materials, recipes and styles to use in crafting. She wants to craft all the things.

Ok, 52 min loading screen was all I could handle. I'm a bit disappointed honestly but not surprised. This is nothing new for me as a steam PC-EU player on launch day. I'm off to a nice hot shower and bed where I can at least dream of an ESO that works. I'm sure that as more of us fade with our time zones, the die-hards that wait into the wee hours will be able to play under the reduced server load as always. SNAFAU :/

This is a known issue. Everyone on EU knows this. ZOS knows this... but the issue keeps occurring.

Which suggests that either: (a) it straight up can't be fixed, in which case ZOS needs to be looking at ways to attenuate the issue rather than telling us it is going to get fixed.... or (b) it can't be fixed for whatever money they could get to fix it, in which case look at case (a).

I mean this issues annoys people on a regular basis. Even the people defending the problems seem to be doing so on the basis that all games see it to some degree. There's got to be some bright spark somewhere who can find a way to make this less horrible.

So why has there seemingly been no attempt over all these years to remedy this? Maybe set up a seperate server for the Russians? More server capacity for the EU server? Just... *anything*!

Instead, we regularily get to watch the NA players stream and play while we sit here with our login issues and lags and whatnots and twiddle our thumbs. Basically we hand over our money and then get told off... At least that's what it feels like...

...The PC-EU login issue is the #1 priority right now, for everyone.

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom
mind telling us why is it that every major update lately (like, a chapter, for example) brings us the same situation over and over again? like, server issues, endless loading screens, things of that nature. you put a major update out, then you need to do additional maintenance because your servers don't work, then your servers still don't work, rinse and repeat. would you happen to think about upgrading your hardware in the future? so this doesn't happen? or hire some good programmers that know what they're doing? because, you know, we pay for your product and you don't deliver. that is the issue here..

Well, how about WE SPLIT THE EU SERVER THEN?
Server too popular to even stay up? SPLIT IT!

Offer free transfers and show server % loads so ppl can choose where to stay. Make one for West EU and one for East EU

Where is the problem in that?

Edit: Or, if splitting is hard, make an Asian server, I'm pretty sure that will take the load off too

I've not been playing very long(first for a month and a half last summer and then on a hiatus until about a month ago), and I've already seen issues like this with the PC EU server many times. It seems astounding to me that ZeniMax hasn't by now expanded capcity to avoid these peak time issues, if there are enough people playing to cause these issues then that suggests to me that there are enough people playing to justify increasing capacity? I don't get why these issues are still going on after such a protracted period of time.

well that cost money... why to care when the issue is only for events and prime time... rest of time servers are OK :-D

What's going to happen is, most people are going to give up trying for the night today, so the server load will decrease and the problem will temporarily go away. Nothing will be fixed.

Next time there is a big patch this same thing will happen. Screencap this.

FYI the PC/NA server is mostly working but is also sometimes giving VERY long load screens when rezoning - don't assume gameplay will be perfect as soon as the EU server is up, sometimes it just allows the next layer of bugs to appear...

It is a little disappointing that given the PC-EU server is the most populace therefore it seems most profitable that nothing is done to ensure a smooth experience.

Most times there are patches it is to cater to US time zones making it early mornings for them into the day and all through the day for the EU. The if something goes wrong it can be fixed in time for US prime time but good luck if you are EU seeing the new content on launch day.

More than this perhaps is the disappointment of the long load screens as the server capacity doesn't seem to cope, and when we do get to the zone hordes of players empty zone and camping the spawn to complete the quest no doubt in part to too many players in each instance but also cause you have bottle necked everyone waiting to get in for the last 16 hours or so.
