When he used the Totem of Tiber Septim to break the Dragon known as The Warp In The West, he ascended to become God Of The Necromancer and The Necromancers Moon appeared in the sky.

All the Liches in the past learned the secrets of Lichdom from Mannimarco. Mannimarco actually learned how to become a lich from himself. This is because the Necromancers moon appeared even in the past he was influencing things

Akatosh couldn't undo his ascension, but he did weaken Mannimarco by leaving a weak mortal for of him on Tamriel that is later killed by the Champion of Cyrodiil in the late 3rd era. This actually just returned Mannimarco to full power.

During the time Mannimarco weaker self roamed Tamriel the Ideal Masters were cut off from Tamriel but that was ok because of Mannimarco and the Shade of The Reverent.

Its thought during the Warp in the West Mannimarco fused himself with the Ideal Masters creating a much more powerful entity, powerful enough to create the Necromancer Moon in spite of the divine.

Of course Mannimarco is just one of the many personalities that make up the Ideal Masters, but since his ascension he has been the dominant personality
