playable daedric races?

Levi_the_Defiler
or better yet, a new daedric alliance? where you can have 3 different varieties of daedric races to choose from? i don't know how to pull it off but the concept sounds pretty dope to me..

It would be pretty interesting but I don't think ZOS would ever go that far with changing things up.

There are rumours/discussion of a new race at the moment because next years chapter would be another in the line of character based release items, also a recent survey had a question about what you want from expansions and one of the answers was a new race.

Well technically there is no reason why the Vestige could not be one, your already technically a Daedra as your body is made of Azure Plasm, i guess from a story perspective it would not make much sense but who cares.

It is not like all Dremora are bad, infact one happily will sell you furniture in Craglorn and he is in a room full of mortals.

How would this fit into the Main Quest? It wouldn't, Daedra are the enemy. You can't just shoehorn in content because you think it'd be "cool" without considering the wider implications.

If you want to play as a Daedra, grab the polymorphs from Imperial City.

different varieties of daedras fight eachother in the lore as well, also for the main quest the enemies are molag bal's daedra. and there are also daedras like Meridia's that are somewhat sided with the men and mer. and no, polymorphs are lame

please yes ive been hoping for this for ages we need daedric races to spice things up abit like maybe a dark seducer golden saint and a knight of order being a thing or playable dremora, xivalia, and xivkyn and throw in some Aurorans, Demiprinces, and skaafin not necessarily in the order i put em like say in one daedric alliance we have it led by xivkyn with kights of order under those and demiprinces under those and another alliance we have xivilia with golden saints under those and aurorans under those and the other alliance would have dremora with dark seducers under those and skaafin under those as a type of example

exactly, its time to stir things up and get the daedras some storylines of their own

As you would have to cut out such a race from the majority of the quest content or completely redo it for them to fit I'm going with no. The massive amount of work the devs would have to do to make this halfway work I'd rather see spent on something else, like story content for general players and not just a small amount of edgelords.

It wouldn’t work if the race follow along with the good ole molag bal questline, only if the developers are willing to take their time and make a new questline for the race I’m sure it would work out. And not all daedras are edgy, and I doubt all the people who want this are edgelords..

that's not true unless if by "technically" you're implying some type of relationship based off both races having horns or existing before mer

That's basically a completely new game.
    But I covered it before: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/422285/new-player-race-possibilities/p1 ;)

I mean, yes, it would be cool. Making a character from a selection of humanoid daedric race options, picking a dark master to serve much like alliances, questing in oblivion, discovering a dire threat to all creation, have excursions to tamriel where everyone is hostile, fight through both the mortal threats and even adventurer parties as bossfights...
    ...yes, it would be neat...
    ...but it is not ESO.

Agreed. The thing it, daedric races just wouldn't work with the ESO storyline setup.
To make it work, they would have to add a completely new game, with completely new regions, with completely new quests... and while that would be a cool game, it would not be ESO. In fact, daedra would make no sense at all with a LOT of the questings... since noone would actually trust them to really help. They -are- the "demons" in TES lore after all... ZOS would have to redo too much for all of that to work out without some really jarring suspension of disbelief...
    Anyron wrote: »

    Not even close.
Argonians have nothing to do with the powers of oblivion, and all to do with the powers of the hist.
The Khajiit have more daedric influence in their ancestry then the argonians. (since myth claims Azura had a hand in their creation)...

NPCs in Alinor directly call out about the dangers of the daedra. Not sure how that can be reconciled with a “daedric” player.

The only way I see a "Daedra" being added as playable, is if it had a permanent "criminal act" passive. It is the only way it can be added imho. Necromancer has some skills that trigger justice system. Same will be the case of Vampires & Werewolves. It should be no different in case of Daedra.

Also, imagine how funny it will be to see PvP Armies of 3 factions fighting over dominance in Cyrodiil, consisting mostly of Daedra (becouse it will be OP).... Or better yet in Imperial City... that is occupied by Deadra...

Sir, we have new conscripts ! And... they are all Daedras... :joy:

I'm not into the idea personally, I think it is not really sensible but if it were done I'd have it as you say. In a game called Divinity: original sin there is a character called Fane who is a skeleton but he can't appear in town or around npc's like that and has to disguise himself as a mortal of various races.

There are some people who are always dissatisfied whatever you do to them. You give them 10 detailed races to play - they want more. They want to play as the Dwemer, the Daedra, monkeys, battlepigs, whatever and they don't care a toss about the lore, the concept, etc.. They were given two new Tamrielic races to play, to fill in the gap, - the Orcs and the Imperials, they were happy. Where were they 25 years ago to demand to play as a goblin, a Daedroth or a monkey? They were given so many slots for character creation - but they need a hundred more because they can't simply create one character and play it, they somehow don't feel happy - they need a thousand characters. Instead of solving their mind problems they, like little children, demand to change the reality around them, they always want more, more and more and they can never stop and say "Enough, thank you much! I'm happy with it until the end".

Is it really so hard to understand that it’s a video game and people are *paying* for it to play and be entertained. Crap gets old, stuff gets boring. We always crave for new things no matter what, It’s pretty obvious that it is their job to keep new things flowing in and keep the customers entertained, not saying they’re doing a bad job but if ESO doesn’t have annually chapter expansions n new contents I doubt u would be still playing this game rather than modded skyrim.

Not a lore guy or RPG guy, but how would you make a Daedric race playable when every single current race in the game is out to kill Daedra? I get necromancers as a class because they can hide their skills, but I don't know how you would hide that you are a being from the netherworld. Perhaps a neat hat?

I'm not surprised it is really hard for you to understand the fact that it is possible to play the game irrespectively of new chapters developped annualy and that you can't understand at all that it is possible to play games without any mods installed, to play again TES I-III and other games you played in the 90s and that you do not understand some other things - your reply is exactly the thing I have written about up there, thanks for confirming my words.

If you only knew what game are you playing instead of running around and killing mobs recklessly, you would have known there are so many things still left to be developped within the existing content you wouldn't have proposed to implement the Daedra as a playable race. You seem to be completely unaware of how outstanding your idea is.
