For what? That isn't why people play the game. 90% of there content can be beat in hours and then it just becomes lack luster to even want to run it again.

The lack of mythic items surprised me. I won't waste skill points on skill lines for a small chance to get 1 of a half dozen items. I honestly don't care about the 'treasures' whose total worth is 300k gold either.

yea they destroyed the class and have not changed anything. they also introduced stahn which is going to make all stamina pvp play around off balance proc. honestly id rather quit the game then play a gutted class that i have to play around damage windows activated by roll dodge and drinking pots. eso is going down hill anyways. i don't expect it to last more than another year or two.

Imagine spending months working on the art, design, combat, general software of a game, and then some random posts its the most dissapointing thing they've ever seen.

    Speech 100.

I respect your opinion, and it is a valid point, but this is more of a dig against leadership and the combat design and balance choices being made.

Ive actually always loved this game, and to a degree still do, but compared to their past work its just underwelming. And with it being the chapter around vampires myself and many others had very high expectations.

Nightblades in particular (if you hadnt guessed im a nightblade main) have been getting the redheaded step child treatment for awhile. At its inception the class was the stand in for both vampires and necros (in the early days zos didnt want necros or vamps playable because theyre the baddies). With this new chapter, being passed over during the class balance and identity audit, and especially because much of our strength and identity was given away during said audit, we were expecting at least a little love to synchronise and synergise with the vamp overhaul. No such luck.

So no nightblade love. Fine. Vamp Not really good for the class? (At least when looking at the bigger picture In fact, the vampire changes might make me and others drop vampirism if anything) Fine. No new sets worth talking about. Okay. Fine. Were going to have to regrind for arena gear that we already earned? Fine. New relic items that come with a high oppurtunity cost to run? Cool, but not exciting.

The whole patch is a series of minor negatives with a single minor positive.

    Edit:

There is usually at least one thing to get super hyped up excited about even if nothing else.

This patch doesnt have that. In fact what i get from this is that ill be buying this chapter. . . To grind. And not really much else. I was already doing that before.

Did ZOS say somewhere that Update 26 was going to be a major overhaul for class skill lines and combat?

Because I didn't see anything like that in ESO news or social media in recent months.

No, but way back when, when they started the class audit they did state in a couple of posts what their plans were, and summarizing here, they stated the order they were handling each class, they started with dks and sorcs, then templars. Nightblades were last in that order. But we never got anything. In fact they ended the audit by giving better versions of key parts of our class toolkit to others. They didnt really announce the end of the audit and instead just started on to the gear audit. Having tracked this i kind of expected something to be tacked on during the chapter but no such luck. Instead we get a vampire overhaul that ends up making vampire less universally desirable. And with the removal and change of passives acts as an indirect nerf to magicka classes.

Class balance should always be ongoing with minor changes to begin with. After all this time hitting everyone with a jackhammer just to not do anything at all with everything still so lopsided, its a bit disturbing. That they think this is balanced is disturbing.

I define myself as a casual that likes to push a little harder. I do my research & fit out my characters. Then the equip changes. More research. All the numbers make little sense to me in a practical sense. This stat versus that stat. It is all becoming a bit too complicated and overwhelming.

I'm glad im not the only who feels like that. I was waiting for these patch notes all day, 50 pages this and that. And after reading all of them my reaction was : well thats it? Ok vampires are cool, I anticipated that for a few years now I'm happy about those, no complains here, vampire is a fully fleshed out playstyle now, well done.

But that's it. Some monster set changes which don't change anything, since you will always want to use a monster set anyway you will pick one that's best amongst all the nerfed/buffed versions anyway with little to no playstyle changes. And that's basically it, some new sets like every expansion.

What? If they fix the games performance at least up to the point where it was before update 25, okay fine. I'll buy the dlc either way but vampire and performance changes are on the base game lol.

Half the problem isnt even numeric stats. Its hidden or unstated cast times, projectile travel times. Blockability/reflectability/dodgeability of various skills vs others with no clear reasoning or standard favoring some classes over others. Or in pve, the difficulty of certain class rotations over others vs their payoff. Numeric stats are the easy part. Just plug in the meta and practice. Tweak from there too see what works better for you. Its the under the hood mechanics and their inconsistent application that really causes problems. This patch does nothing to address that.

Im surprised mag dks arent raising a huge fuss right now as a lot of these changes make for some indirect heavy handed nerfs to them.

With a patch with so many major changes and additions.

At the end of the day this patch does nothing that motivates me to play again.

Vampire changes still feel like a net negative for nightblades since everyone has access (they should, but the new abilities combined with everyone havsing access to invis combined with the natural consequence of everyone running detect pots is just bad for business)

The vampire changes in general feel like they were intended as a handout to nightblades that synergises with gankers but not all Nbs are gankers and now everyone has them.

Other than that vampire changes just feel. . . Underwhelming.

Looks like gear is getting nerfed all over the place.

The trial gear is thoroughly unimpressive unless your a heavy attack sorc. Now people will drag them along to every trial as a buff bot.

Eso really needs SOMETHING to get its older players excited again, and I for one dont think this patch is it.

Been playing game since launch on PS4 then switch to PC 2 years ago, playing till today. Only thing that makes me playing eso is new wrold not out yet. Feel burnt out of the game, too many changes up and down without regorads to player voice. 4 years stamsorc and I see my class just keeps on fading away, nightblades are following the fading train as well. People asked for class balance and they get moster sets nerfs, nobody even talked about bolargh being good or bad, why change it? More sets are becoming obselete. It just point, I hope zos just wipe out all classes, keep classes skills and passive, make them avialbe to everyone, let me biuld my own power fantasy ***, don't force me onto something broken or imbalance like stamcro.

They didn't even do a proper job at balancing other classes as welk, I mean look it mag and stamsorcs, day and night different. Magcro blastbone is was good before they changed how blastbone work, they still left magcro blastbone on purpose as it is, most useless morph. Zos might have missed the blastbone problem, but every magcro was crying about, zos reads the forum and I'm 100% sure they are aware of blastbone problem, they still ignore it and left it as it is.

Actually, most people play the game for that very reason. Just because you and your fellow 2% of population are OPed nerds with max. abilities doesn't mean everyone is. I'm a veteran myself, but gawd how those ego-driven, bad-tasted or smartassing posts make me cringe.

That's all fine and good, but not more than a Q4 DLC.

What does this update feature that makes it a chapter? The silly convoluted treasure hunt for 3 reskinned motifs?

agreed this isnt a chapter, it is a good dlc that should be 2-2500 crowns.

Vamps are for rp and ganking now unless something gets changed - buts its Zo£ and we know how good they are at playing their own game!
    WW buffs are good
Chapter is not worth the asking price
Mythic items are a joke - grind them just to say you have them, thats it

Scroll running with the speed ring, orc , steed mundus and proper sets will be fun

I’m always on the fence about the sub, but this expansion is the first I have no interest in and that is weird for me. I don’t know what to do with this game. I don’t like the direction they’re going, but I can’t seem to find another game to replace it with.

    It’s Stockholm Syndromes
