How did you choose your main class?

I went into the game blindly as a stamblade because I like the stealth archer in single-player games. I didn't realize that the class has a learning curve, so I struggled a lot at first. With a lot of work I was able to do pretty well on the class. I made a magblade after that to try vMA on and was never able to full get the hang of it. I tried taking it into vMA and struggled a lot due to the lack of "oh sh*t" heal, so I scrapped that.

I made a magden on a bit of a whim because it seemed like a good class to try vMA on with the shields and heals and has a Goldilocks moment. I took to the class immediately. I don't know exactly what it is about it, but it flows really nicely to me and the rotation is so much smoother than Magblade or Stamblade. Plus, I find it a lot of fun to play, which wasn't really the case for magblade or stamblade.

I understand why you changed - but I think nightblade should be a high burst damage glass canon, an assassin, not a warrior type. Attacking from stealth, killing and disappearing in the shadows again - unfortunately ZOS had another idea about it.

Yeah, my husband warned me that that was the case going into ESO but I stubbornly insisted on stamblade XD I probably would have chosen it regardless, however, because it was the most familiar class to me at the time.

    Yes. Sorcerer.

Yes - on PC-EU, which is where I first started playing ESO.

On PC-NA that's technically not the case, because there I started by making 8 characters right off the bat and levelled my crafter (a magNB) and mule (stamplar) to CP160 first.
But that was a purely utilitarian decision, just so that I could get off the ground faster on my Sorc main on a completely new account.

After having played all 5 of the pre-Elsweyr classes (but not Necro) in both PvP and PvE, I feel quite confident in answering YES.
IMO there is nothing really wrong with the other classes, they just don't fit my preferred playstyle nearly as well.

Is it the class you like more aesthetically?
Actually, I feel that Sorc has somewhat bland aesthetics - pretty much all Sorc abilities have similar looking blue or purple effects, and Boundless almost completely obscures my character's model. Also, Sorc pets are quite ugly and get in my own way an awful lot.
Still, on an absolute scale I find it quite OK overall.

Some other classes have much better visuals (DK especially so - except maybe Dragon Blood, which looks kinda lame, and of course poop fist), but in any case I consider the gameplay to be much more important than the appearance.

Your main switched from a class to another for any reason? Nerfs, buffs?
Somewhere around the time of the DoT meta, Sorcerers lost Major Sorcery due to changes to Power Surge.
That got me annoyed enough that I rolled and started levelling a Templar.
Another part of the reason was that Templar has a strong class purge, which was a valuable asset in the DoT meta.
But eventually I reached the conclusion that the Templar gameplay is not really my cup of tea - and soon afterwards Sorcerers regained their Major Sorcery (and the DoT meta was over as well), so that was the end of that.
Besides, looking back on it - I'd much rather be good at playing just one class, than mediocre at playing all of them.
