    Bosmer nightblade forever.
Is it the class you played the most?
Is it the class you started the game with?
Is it the class you have more fun to play ?
Is it the class you like more aesthetically?

    All

and because my playstyle is totally bosmeri + nb, sneaking, rolldodging a lot, with bow, moving fast and jumping everywhere. I like everything about bosmer & Nb, culture & shadow martial art

I never had an actual preferred class or role in the single player games. I would just pick a race, then build around the strengths of the race to min-max the best that I could.

Then when ESO came along, I played a couple of the invitational Beta sessions, and the semi-closed beta before launch. Each time, I rolled a new class. First was Nb, then Sorc, then Dk. Something just resonated with the Dk. I chose that for launch, and played it for the first month. Game was way too buggy for the wife and I, at the time, so we unsubbed and quit.

I came back to the game May 2018, and I picked a Warden since it was new to me, and I loved it. It was the first class I made two of - one for pve and one for pvp. Still love it. But I also rediscovered my love for the Dk. Second class I made two of.

Now I have one of every class maxed out, and play them all pretty equally. I probably put more love into my Dk Tank, even if I do play him the least. Everything I farm, I farm for him.

First toon since a month after launch.
    Bosmer: 2H/DW Stamina Sorc (solo)
Mainly used for all Overland and Story/Quests, WBs and occasional bits of pvp.
    hTwv1ML.png?1

2nd toon (week after Morrowind launch)
    Argonian: 2H/Bow Stamina Warden
Mainly used for occasional group content and Overland/Story and more for pvp.

Only really use two characters - though I do have plenty of other race/classes close to being as important (mainly my argonian necro would be next - just waiting for that perfect skin, costume and mount) already set up. But, those two will forever be my main loves. The gear set up, the Motifs used when not using the Costumes - all deeply thematic to me and my cheesy playstyle. I will spend days thinking about a character and how they should look, so much so, that once I start doodling drafts of them prior to creating them I will stick with it.

Ironically, the detail, planning and themes I planned out just for the two would do wonders in the RP community - sadly though, I support and love to watch RP'ers. I hate actually being apart of it. Doesn't fit well with in my concept of my characters, and would greatly obscure my cheesy animatic comic that I been drafting up.

Long time ago, back in 2014, when the game launched. I created my 1st (and main) character and picked up a class based on in-game class description.

...Right now this description does not fit at all and is very misleading lol.

Chose templar because I was always good at healing in the other games I played. Made characters for the other classes, but I have never looked back. Templar was my first, and will be my last, main character.

Although, I will say that magcro dps is hard to beat for pure fun.

The same way I always do.
Every game I play, I have my two favorite archetypes in mind, the sneaky backstab-from-stealth assassin-type and the physically weak but strong in other areas (depending on background, that could be magic, the force, psionics, biotics, or tech wizardry) long range caster. And then I look what that particular game has in ways of mechanics to make those, usually one boy and one girl, as my "mains".
For ESO that was Leskandera the stamina Nightblade, and Kelasendar the magica Sorceror.
    ...
    ...
...I have no idea how Kes dre-lana managed to become a character I consider a "main" too, she was supposed to be just a crafting alt... I don't generally like the "heavy armor warrior type" nor "holy magic" of most backgrounds... but... somehow she grew on me.

Nord Nightblade since that's the character I've been playing in all TES games. It's a tradition of sorts for me. I do have other characters in ESO but I do quests and get achievements almost exclusively on my main.

Templar was my first, and will be my last, main character.

    .

    Same case here.
Actually I came to the Templar through the race.
In ES games and especially in Skyrim, I was a Nord and I liked their looks, culture, lore and history.
But what class makes sense for a Nord ?
Fast eliminate Warden, Nightblade, Sorceror. As Nords are warriors that leaves Templar and Dragonknight.
But Skyrim is a land of cold and ice and that didn't resonate much with a fire breathing Dragonknight.
Also in EQ I played a paladin (even if they were generally considered as not very "efficient") and Templar sounded a bit like a Paladin.
So I choose a Nord Templar and he is my main and most developped character still today even if I discovered later that Templars are really not very good warriors in ESO.

i have 8 nightblades, 2 sorcerers, 2 wardens, and one each of dragonknight and templar. I started out with nightblade and still love this class, even it got changed quite a lot over time and I had to adapt play style, gear and skills. My nightblades play quite differently to years ago, but they are still fun and my preferred class, followed by sorcerer and warden.

What i like with my nightblades is that I can build them so, that I can do staff and 2h both about equally well, even i min/max attributes. i just have to drink a different potion and swap bars and they do the other kind of weapon equally well to before. With other classes this is not as equally possible - or I just didn't figure out yet how to.

In former times all my characters were archers - nowadays most of them use staff and 2h, but just my nightblades do them equally well. Bows are not that much fun as they were before - who the hell came to the idea to let them auto-fire after I have fully drawn them? Before I could hold them fully drawn and shoot the arrow by invoking the poison arrow skill - was an amazing weapon with high burst damage - wonderful for a nightblade with hit and run tactics - but nowadays not much fun anymore. Now i have to tank my nightblade, whereas they should be glass canons - high burst from stealth, kill and disappear unseen again - but ZOS just messed this up completely.

Yep, that is a pretty good description of my main character. I rolled a Nord Warden when I started the game and she is the only level 50 character I have. I currently see no reason to switch to anything else either, although I have tried other classes non of them seem to have the right style.

Magicka sorcerer with pets, has great utility, excellent solo class and very fun. Played it in late alpha then in early beta after reroll and have mained it ever since.

Only thing that comes close for fitting my play style is Stamina Warden, though I also find the Necro's work well for me.

    I'm playing 3 months now, I have 3 lvl50s/CP350+ characters:

    - Breton Templar healer (used to be Imperial but changed her for racial passives),
    - Nord DK tank (1st character) and
    - Breton Warden (best looking).

Tank is easiest for dungeons - as I am in the farming gear phase - but with current specs it's a limited option for doing other content even if I use dps gear on her. My healer is the most played atm as I find tanking a bit one sided, a one trick pony while healing spell damage also carry over to damage abilities.
Levelling was most fun on bow/2h warden, though but I struggle to find a good and fun setup for her now. Also being Breton and using stamina weapons doesn't fit very well. Generally I find wardens a bit more difficult to play with their numerous delayed skills (after 3 seconds X happens .. after 6 seconds ..Y happens).

Also levelling some other characters (shared CP once you reach lvl50 definitely helps), not sure who will end up as my favourite character. In other games it also took a while and often my favourite character is only the 5th or so because in every game it's quiite different how the roles play; in WoW a holy/disc healer coudn' t do a lot of farming for example while in ESO that's perfectly viable. GW1 didn't even have skill trees and such so you could swap role, skills and even secondary profession quite easily.

Started a Bosmer Templar at launch that was never intended to be my main. Just wanted to jump into the game, heal, and use a bow. He started as what we would now call a hybrid, and has changed his focus many, many times. Currently, he's a magplar.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

I went into the game blindly as a stamblade because I like the stealth archer in single-player games. I didn't realize that the class has a learning curve, so I struggled a lot at first. With a lot of work I was able to do pretty well on the class. I made a magblade after that to try vMA on and was never able to full get the hang of it. I tried taking it into vMA and struggled a lot due to the lack of "oh [snip]" heal, so I scrapped that.

I made a magden on a bit of a whim because it seemed like a good class to try vMA on with the shields and heals and has a Goldilocks moment. I took to the class immediately. I don't know exactly what it is about it, but it flows really nicely to me and the rotation is so much smoother than Magblade or Stamblade. Plus, I find it a lot of fun to play, which wasn't really the case for magblade or stamblade.

I understand why you changed - but I think nightblade should be a high burst damage glass canon, an assassin, not a warrior type. Attacking from stealth, killing and disappearing in the shadows again - unfortunately ZOS had another idea about it.

My absolute favorite has been DK since the dawn of time. I spent a couple years on my drunken zombie stam sorc, and now that she's a GO, I'm working on a brand new DK for Cyro and super love her already. So I either want to be in your face and live a while on my DK or I want to be a pita and stop you from doing whatever it is you thought you were going to do with your group on my stam sorc. And for PvE stuffs, its always my not meta Bosmer DK although I am branching out a bit with a healer and some other characters I have had sitting for a while now.

Is it the class you played the most?
    Right now it is.

Is it the class you started the game with?
No, but it was my second character.

Is it the class you have more fun to play ?
    Yes.

Is it the class you like more aesthetically?
    Yes.

Your main switched from a class to another for any reason? Nerfs, buffs?
Wanted something else and I ended up liking it more. My original main was a DK and I didn't want to be a guard, lol

My first character was a stamblade, picked it because I enjoy playing stealthy characters in MMOs and be able to ignore trash mobs most of the time.
It by far the class I've played the most, nothing comes even close. I also have 6 other NBs, 2 mag, 3 more stam and a pacifist NB who's essentially a hybrid NB.
I play them because I enjoy them, both in terms of their style (shadows and blood basically), and also because cloak exists. Really enjoy the fast explosive "do lots or damage in a short amount of time and try not to die"-style Don't really care if they're the best performing class or not, I will play them way better than any other class which might be technically better.

started playing eso little bit before one tamriel patch.
TES III morrowind was the game I grew up playing, so by playing eso wanted to create a dunmer character, didn't care much for what class, at that time dunmer were magicka based race, so my class was supposed to be magicka.
tried magsorc leveled up to cp 160 something, but realised I didn't liked ranged class.
dislike dragonknights, because dragons = skyrim = watered down version of RPG genre game that I like.
nightblades as a stealth base class didn't appeal to me either, so rolled with a magplar and since the racial changes I switched to stamplar.
