I'd ride past you too. And I'd hope you'd ride past me if I was in your situation.

Either way, I suspect its answered by the same reason I ignore solo players when I'm riding: I've got an objective to get to and I'd rather not miss that fight/tick.

Try 10+ all rode past him, me being the stupid *** attacked as always and then 3 others rode past, 1 probably stopped to watch and another in sneak
They didn't want to interrupt 1v1. Looks fine by me. I won't put interrupting 1v1 near major fights as some crime in Cyro, but not interrupting is ok as well. Funniest thing when you 1v1 some long long fight with magsorc in the middle of nowhere, then some guy from your alliance appears to "help", you stop doing anything, sorc just nukes him in 3 seconds and you continue duel
And then you remember that you were like that nuked guy not long ago

Hi Maya! Sorry to hear you felt that way about your stay on AD. I've been AD since beta, with one recent exception.. an old friend of mine wanted to run a small group as EP for a bit, so I finally created an alt (you can faint now @Delsskia 😉) Delsskia was always telling me to create an alt.. but, this one I created to run as EP.. for once in all my years playing this game.. and honestly, I felt like it was about time I saw how the other half live.. I felt I owed it to myself to not be so one sided or narrow minded about the factions. Only ever seeing it from one side was limiting my view.
I have friends on all factions and it was actually really pretty amazing having this first time experience..
my heart has always belonged with my original toons in any game and in this case, it has been with Delph on AD (I never create alts, shocking I know).. but, I felt I owed it to myself to at least experience it at least once before I say farewell ...
I thought I would get so much hate.. I expected some major negativity from many players.. on both sides..
but, you know what? I didn't.. except one.. and that was from someone I never thought would say anything to me.. but, it wasn't really hate.. more of a snide comment "supposedly" meant for someone else, but quite blatantly and clearly sent to me so I would see it.. not at all an "oops, mt"... it was more of a "shame" tell than a hate tell... but, regardless, I really don't mind.. I mean, I get why she did it.. sometimes people really feel betrayed..
At any rate, what I did find was a very welcoming faction and I had quite a lot of fun. I had a hard time fighting my AD loves, so I mostly tried to stay up North and just defend/heal/repair/place camps.. and of course, I never stopped being a part of my faction.. but, I am truly grateful to both the EP faction for being so kind to me and my AD family for letting me go for a bit and have this new experience.
I am back on AD as my friend is not leading groups atm.. and my guilds and friends are still on AD.. as is my husband.
but, I hope maybe one day you'll reconsider and come back around, if anything, just to visit so I can run with you again..
or who knows? I still have my alt...

Dang filthy spy...
No Pizza for you.
You attacked a solo player and expected aid. Sorry but if it's a 1v1 I ain't helping you unless your battle is right near my objective, like a keep or whatever. You gotta remember that we aren't YOUR personal army, we are all working towards an objective on the battlefield.JamieAubrey wrote: »Try 10+ all rode past him, me being the stupid *** attacked as always and then 3 others rode past, 1 probably stopped to watch and another in sneaki've been Aldmeri Dominion since day one and I got a firm grasp on how the battle usually goes by now. So allow me to help you understand abit with this picture.mayasunrising wrote: »after nearly 5 years I've given up trying to figure out what AD thinks and switched to EP. Also for full disclosure: AD usually has 3 scrolls, which is why both EP and DC attack them so much.

No I'd jump in and help, always do, if you are in the path of a keep etc but if you are in the middle of nowhere I'll take it as a duel

And that's fine if you do. I'd respect that you feel it's the right thing to do to help an alliance mate, even if I prioritize the spirit of competition. But that's just it: I might not feel the way that you do, but I'd respect the way you play. I would ride by not because I have horse blinders or apathy, but because I see two people competing and since this is, RP jokes aside, a game first and foremost, feel comfortable in the decision to ride by.
If an alliance mate was low CP and low rank getting bullied by an experienced player, I would stop, but again my reason for doing so would be motivated by the spirit of competition, which I feel the bully would be violating.

I've been helped and rezzed many more times by low level randoms than the 810 Campaign vets that run around. Just change your scenario from AD to EP and it's exactly the same. I yell at my screen a lot of the time too about other Reds being completely oblivious to what's around them. Other times I think they're flat out ignoring you.

Far as I’m concerned pretty much anything is fair game in cyro. But interrupting a 1v1 is just rude.

This isnt an AD thing, its a human thing.
I have seen it countless times, people literally ignoring folk who need help. One of the most stark examples, I engaged a tanky DK trying to take a resource from us, went 1v1 toe to toe, was doing OK but struggling due to his tanky-ness... two alliance "team mates" ride up, see whats going on, then simply turn and run away. WTAF?
I lost that fight and the alliance lost the resource as a result. I mean its no big thing in the grand scheme of things, its just the principle, what were those to idiots doing? This isnt duelling, its pvp.

Attacking a solo guy while he's fighting NPCs at a resource is a big no no for me (unless a keep is about to get cut, or it's an important one). You want to wait untill he's cleared the NPC and only attack him while he tries to flip the flag.

This makes no sense. Its PVP. I have never seen an enemy let me take a resource, ever, much as I would have appreciated such a gesture as I try to gain AP and complete quests etc...
Its pvp, when groups are rampaging across the map attacking/defending keeps and resources, if I come across someone trying to take my alliance stuff, I will attack and expect to be attacked. We have to keep the links between keeps open to continue to engage the enemy expediently. I also expect alliance team mates to help each other!
I guess it is just human nature, a lot of humans are selfish & cowardly... and some are overly honourable lol.

The "spirit of competition" doesnt make sense in a mulitiplayer mode involving armies. A soldier doesnt come upon a friendly engaged and think "I'mma let them duel". They aid in neutralizing the threat so they can rally to an objective.
Joy_Division wrote: »
Im not a soldier and im not in an army. Im playing a game for entertainment.
It's in the middle of nowhere and not a contested objective, so ,yep, let them duel.
The dominion is weak.
