They seem to have 0 spacial awareness, an enemy could be next to them and they wouldn't even know, so many times I've seen 10+ ride past and do nothing, NO I'm not dueling I'm trying to stay alive long enough for help

I'd ride past you too. And I'd hope you'd ride past me if I was in your situation.

No I'd jump in and help, always do, if you are in the path of a keep etc but if you are in the middle of nowhere I'll take it as a duel

I've been helped and rezzed many more times by low level randoms than the 810 Campaign vets that run around. Just change your scenario from AD to EP and it's exactly the same. I yell at my screen a lot of the time too about other Reds being completely oblivious to what's around them. Other times I think they're flat out ignoring you.

I'm a little confused. Did the AD ignore a fellow AD player who was in need of help? Or did they ignore an enemy who wanted to fight?

Either way, I suspect its answered by the same reason I ignore solo players when I'm riding: I've got an objective to get to and I'd rather not miss that fight/tick.

Plus if you do interfere a lot of the time they cry in zone about you not respecting the 1v1. If you ride past them they cry in zone that you didn't help.

They didn't want to interrupt 1v1. Looks fine by me. I won't put interrupting 1v1 near major fights as some crime in Cyro, but not interrupting is ok as well. Funniest thing when you 1v1 some long long fight with magsorc in the middle of nowhere, then some guy from your alliance appears to "help", you stop doing anything, sorc just nukes him in 3 seconds and you continue duel :D
And then you remember that you were like that nuked guy not long ago :D

Far as I’m concerned pretty much anything is fair game in cyro. But interrupting a 1v1 is just rude.

Hi Maya! Sorry to hear you felt that way about your stay on AD. I've been AD since beta, with one recent exception.. an old friend of mine wanted to run a small group as EP for a bit, so I finally created an alt (you can faint now @Delsskia 😉) Delsskia was always telling me to create an alt.. but, this one I created to run as EP.. for once in all my years playing this game.. and honestly, I felt like it was about time I saw how the other half live.. I felt I owed it to myself to not be so one sided or narrow minded about the factions. Only ever seeing it from one side was limiting my view.

I have friends on all factions and it was actually really pretty amazing having this first time experience..
my heart has always belonged with my original toons in any game and in this case, it has been with Delph on AD (I never create alts, shocking I know).. but, I felt I owed it to myself to at least experience it at least once before I say farewell ...

I thought I would get so much hate.. I expected some major negativity from many players.. on both sides..
but, you know what? I didn't.. except one.. and that was from someone I never thought would say anything to me.. but, it wasn't really hate.. more of a snide comment "supposedly" meant for someone else, but quite blatantly and clearly sent to me so I would see it.. not at all an "oops, mt"... it was more of a "shame" tell than a hate tell... but, regardless, I really don't mind.. I mean, I get why she did it.. sometimes people really feel betrayed..

At any rate, what I did find was a very welcoming faction and I had quite a lot of fun. I had a hard time fighting my AD loves, so I mostly tried to stay up North and just defend/heal/repair/place camps.. and of course, I never stopped being a part of my faction.. but, I am truly grateful to both the EP faction for being so kind to me and my AD family for letting me go for a bit and have this new experience.

I am back on AD as my friend is not leading groups atm.. and my guilds and friends are still on AD.. as is my husband.
but, I hope maybe one day you'll reconsider and come back around, if anything, just to visit so I can run with you again..
or who knows? I still have my alt...

    No Pizza for you.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

You attacked a solo player and expected aid. Sorry but if it's a 1v1 I ain't helping you unless your battle is right near my objective, like a keep or whatever. You gotta remember that we aren't YOUR personal army, we are all working towards an objective on the battlefield.
after nearly 5 years I've given up trying to figure out what AD thinks and switched to EP. ADs primary foci seem to be never pushing north (so they constantly have to defend), and being toxic with each other.
i've been Aldmeri Dominion since day one and I got a firm grasp on how the battle usually goes by now. So allow me to help you understand abit with this picture.
    4568569.png

Also for full disclosure: AD usually has 3 scrolls, which is why both EP and DC attack them so much.

Just goes to show how different ever region/platform/Campaign is from the other.

My AD enemies always go Ash to Rayles or Warden or Glademist, they never go to Aleswell. They never attack EP. They will avoid BRK and Arrius like the plague.

So you want 10 AD to come zerg down and stop your fair 1vs1 duel? If i was in your position i`d wish they just let me/us battle it out without interruption.

    My personal "rules":

    1. I never interrupt a fair 1vs1 fights. Rule-breaker situation is when clearing a Keep after a capture, so if there is some still inside, you know - the usual NB gankers and some tower runners (yes, i do both of those myself too) who hides inside and tries to gank and/or bomb while people repair gates or go after people who afk looking map after thought battle is already over - i`ll "zerg" them down inside the keep with the rest just to clean up the house. Clean house is nice.

Addition: Sometimes i just watch if some friend (in enemy alliance) is inside the keep and see how they do against the cleaning zerg.. yeah, if it is a friend i might just leave doing something else. Human nature to leave friends alone if they are already being zerged lol. But, if they wipe out the possibly small minizerg out, i might then go after it duel with them and chase them out of the keep. (our duels most often end up in a long battle and then mutually decided draw)

Addition nr. 2 That never interrupting a fair 1vs1 rule is broken when i see someone who has done that same to me in the past (i remember everything..) so, they earned their payback so while they think they are having a duel, out of the Cloaky shadows comes a Magblade combo saying "hello, remember me?" And yes, i watch and hit just when the target is either near Execute range or if they seem to be winning my alliance sister or brother.. so i`ll do a Soul Harvest combo on them to help out and putting them down. I`m such a nice person, right? Same goes if i see someone who has sent me some rude whispers, rude people deserve to be put down. >:)

    2. Often if i see an enemy alliance 1 person being zerged by enemy alliance nr 2.. i`ll go "help" the solo person by attacking the zerg, possibly bombing (Tether/Proxy det, you know) them if see an opening, will draw their attention to me.. but, it gives me always joy when see some lonely player escape a zerg. Little joys in life. :)

And that's fine if you do. I'd respect that you feel it's the right thing to do to help an alliance mate, even if I prioritize the spirit of competition. But that's just it: I might not feel the way that you do, but I'd respect the way you play. I would ride by not because I have horse blinders or apathy, but because I see two people competing and since this is, RP jokes aside, a game first and foremost, feel comfortable in the decision to ride by.

If an alliance mate was low CP and low rank getting bullied by an experienced player, I would stop, but again my reason for doing so would be motivated by the spirit of competition, which I feel the bully would be violating.

The "spirit of competition" doesnt make sense in a mulitiplayer mode involving armies. A soldier doesnt come upon a friendly engaged and think "I'mma let them duel". They aid in neutralizing the threat so they can rally to an objective.

Whenever I come across a mate in trouble, I’m placing myself in stealth, often in a bush or under a tree, so my comrade can see me. If they need help, they’ll come running and if they are playing solo-soldier with a friend, they’ll draw the fight away from me and I’ll be on my merry way.

It’s not that complicated to be nice to others

This reminds me of the time I saw a guy fighting another. It was 1v1, but I was new. I jumped in to help, and several guys appeared out of the shadows and walloped me good.

As I rez back at a base, I read the chat. The guy was telling me not to interfere, and it was a dueling guild having a tourney. I sent him and appology, but got no reply. But I learned my lesson. Check the situation before engaging.

This isnt an AD thing, its a human thing.

I have seen it countless times, people literally ignoring folk who need help. One of the most stark examples, I engaged a tanky DK trying to take a resource from us, went 1v1 toe to toe, was doing OK but struggling due to his tanky-ness... two alliance "team mates" ride up, see whats going on, then simply turn and run away. WTAF?

I lost that fight and the alliance lost the resource as a result. I mean its no big thing in the grand scheme of things, its just the principle, what were those to idiots doing? This isnt duelling, its pvp.

Attacking a solo guy while he's fighting NPCs at a resource is a big no no for me (unless a keep is about to get cut, or it's an important one). You want to wait untill he's cleared the NPC and only attack him while he tries to flip the flag.

This makes no sense. Its PVP. I have never seen an enemy let me take a resource, ever, much as I would have appreciated such a gesture as I try to gain AP and complete quests etc...

Its pvp, when groups are rampaging across the map attacking/defending keeps and resources, if I come across someone trying to take my alliance stuff, I will attack and expect to be attacked. We have to keep the links between keeps open to continue to engage the enemy expediently. I also expect alliance team mates to help each other!

I would not describe a resource required to keep fast travel open to a keep, as "in the middle of nowhere", if that is what you are referring to.

All those advocating to let folk fight 1v1 (& potentially let alliance resources fall closing fast travel options to keeps)... you know that scene in Saving Private Ryan... the one where the coward lets his friend fight that German on his own, ultimately dying a slow and painful death... thats YOU, letting your team die... dont be that guy.

    The dominion is weak.

    and dc is trash.

    see how easy that is?
They seem to have 0 spacial awareness, an enemy could be next to them and they wouldn't even know, so many times I've seen 10+ ride past and do nothing, NO I'm not dueling I'm trying to stay alive long enough for help

You want to wait untill he's cleared the NPC and only attack him while he tries to flip the flag.

    maybe in a perfect world.

i've been wrecked numerous times by a group while fighting resource npc's.
