What you speak of is not against the ToS. It is perfectly acceptable for one player to have multiple accounts and be logged into all of them at the same time. As long as they are not using any hardware or software to automate the activity of any of the accounts. It can be done all on the same PC or multiple PCs.

What if this player wants to discredit you like that as a leader, so permanently gives info of your movements during longer period, and with more and more loses your group becomes more and more suspicious that you are actually bad leader, that you might be spy?
Shortly, what if someone harasses you like that? *idea*

How is that exactly related to harassment? Is everything a harassment these days lmao? If someone takes the game that seriously I have to think it's more of the person's problem than the spy's.

Ofc that would be harassment, because a victim surely likes to play and likes to lead, and the other person is purposely ruining their fun.
Game is the part of the life too.
Also, if in-game harassment wouldn't be so serious, ZoS wouldn't have rules that punishing it.
And i consider using such intrigues even more toxic than usual zone chat trashtalk with names calling that ends in ban.

Yes, must be spies, because you're all as cunning as a fox that's been appointed professor of cunning at oxford university, as you march from Bleakers to Ales, flipping the farm on the way to the fd. OMG how did they know we were coming - A SPY IS HOW!

If you actually believe that people buy a second PC and account just to spy on your Alliance you should probably get off the internet for a while.

    Internet is serious business.

True. I know of no one who actually buys a PC for that purpose. However, I know there are people like myself that happen to have more than one PC capable of running this game very well. My old gaming PC is only 3 years old.

But you are correct, the situation OP describes is very limited. Most that will spy with an alt account cannot easily see the screens for both games at the same time since most only have one PC.

Well, that's true.... but for instance, I have two screens, and can open both my accounts at the same time, one on each screen. Now, I don't pvp, but hey.... I'm not someone "super special" - if I can figure out how to do that (and it's not new to me, I was running 5 accounts in WoW on two screens, split into "main" on one screen and 4 others quartering the second screen.... It wasn't to "cheat" - it was so that my main could haul the others along for loot into instances they couldn't access due to "no one wants to deal with sat lag".... it was slow, but my main could wipe the floor with level 60 instances, and that meant the other accounts got better gear....) anyone can.

There are, literally, people on this thread telling you they are spying and you are still trying to call paranoia on the OP?!

    Hilarious.

What are spies even going to spy on? on nocp eu everybody is stacked permanently ontop of the faction zerg and there are never more than two fights happening at the same time on the map.

    Thats very naive bud

No thats exactly how pvp is right now on pc eu nocp. evevrybody faction stacking and if you go outside the 2 main fights on the map nothing is ever happening.

Beside, the person that started this thread and others complaining about spies are leading groups that easily wipe to pugs half their size all the time.

But i guess its easier to put on your tinfoil hat and blaming spies running multiple accounts on differnet pcs than accept the simple facts op is really bad at pvp .

How do you know what OP is, or isn't?

...and even if s/he was bad at PVP, or at leading groups, what difference would it make in terms of this conversation?

Hurling around groundless and irrelevant accusations may be a hobby, around here, but it doesn't convince anyone with even half a mind of their own.

It's just another blatant distraction tactic.

You dont even need 2 computers to spy, you can be on discord telling your friend 'the spy'on the opposite faction information.
Discord is the easiest way to spy or family members or room mates that play on 2 separate computers. So many ways to spy in cyro and its ez.

I only pvp for one faction so i dont cheat but just using my logic here.

Ok, a small explanation to all those who started to complain about my thread: it wasn't a complain at the first place, only a simple question about ZoS policy and the way of dealing with people in such situations, because i simply wanted to know how they treat it.
    Why such drama... 😀

I am experienced raid leader for my alliance and already know the ways of how one could spy in such groups, tho one scenario concerns me: a player with 2 accounts at 2 computers/consoles (so IP unrecognizable!) who enters a raid with one account in my alliance and at the same time gives info about our movements via another account in enemy alliance at another computer.

How to report it, and how is it possible to track it by ZoS? That person could also have VPN with secure core possibility turned on at their another account at another computer, what complicated the monitoring system even more...

I think there's little ZOS or anyone can do, technically.

I'm all for sorting out cheating, I'm a faction lock fan for that reason and also play in guilds that boot anyone in Cyrodill on a different alliance toon. Etc

Thus you can try to mitigate by only playing with known folks and keep guild tight etc

But the lengths you describe, if someone's going to go that far well it's gunna be hard to stop them. Similar they could easily sit on WhatsApp telling another Faction mates what you are up to.

Cheating sucks but you also have to be pragmatic

Imagine playing in a non faction locked campaign then? And this is what some people are crying about bringing back. You don't even have to wonder about their motives. Yes, you want to be able to play with your friends. But isn't is possible to agree with them beforehand, which campaign to enter? And if you disagree, is't it possible to play with them next campaign instead? Great if people didn't take advantage of the possibility to exploit this, but people GREATLY did so, so it was necessary.

As for this multi account/Discord thing, you'll have to live with that. Some people are born cheaters, and can't imagine being on equal terms with others. It's just the way things are. Sad people.

I have no issue to play amongst such people really. If i had i wouldn't play Cyro anymore but i am playing.
Like i said somewhere above, it could even make pvp more unpredictible and fun when observing from the positive instance.
Just wanted to know how ZoS threats this thing. 🙂
