I've played since Early Access (beta before that), and have like 7 characters. Each has thousands of hours on them and can fulfill any role in the game I want them to with a simple switch of equipment and skills.
I understand roleplayers liking the alts, but I'm also legitimately curious on how much time you have on each of the characters?

With the current character slots you can make 1 of each class dps for both stam and magic, a healer, a tank and still have 2-3 slots left. That is more than enough.

One mag dps of each class and one stam dps of each class is 12. One tank and one healer is 14. There are crown store slots on top of that, that get you to 18 characters. You can have one of every class in both damage rolls plus a tank and healer or multiple and STILL HAVE SLOTS LEFT.

As you can see, I'm still missing a male Nord. I have a Hlaalu, but no Redoran or Telvanni, let alone Dres. I have only one Breton and only one Altmer (two, technically, but one of them is really a Maormer), zero Reachmen, no Weyress. I could also use another Orc, and I'm definitely lacking an Imperial necromancer guy. And to be honest, with that red skin released in the lastest crate season, I feel like I urgently need to roll a Daedra. So... gimme about 12 more slots, please!
(In Wildstar, I used to have 30 slots. That was just about enough for me...)
Sorry if this has been explained or clarified. Altoholic and 18 is not enough.

Nope im missing 6
Stam dps×6
Mag dps×6
Tank ×6
healer×6
Total 24

Again, quit assuming that what is enough for you is enough for other people. You don't know how others play, you don't know what they're using those characters for. Do people really have to be told such a simple thing over and over? Do people not stop to think there are uses for characters like mules for people without ESO+ or people playing across all three Alliances for PvP?
It's enough for you. Stop making the decision for others it's enough for them.

Right? It's like some people don't understand that others like to roleplay in a role playing game.
No, that doesn't always mean standing in Riften and talking about how many Argonian maids' tails you lifted this week. Most of the time it just means an update gives you the urge to play a Reachman Dragonknight or Dunmer Werewolf.
Likewise, with Greymoor, people might want to create a new Nord or Vampire character, or an explorer for the Antiquities system. Or maybe just a new character in general because they like the leveling experience and they want to see the new tutorial.
Seriously, why do people have to justify wanting to play the game?
