Why lock event rewards behind horrible RNG? It helps no one except those willing to pay.

I don't want to be handed everything on silver platter, and I don't want to get all my rewards on the first day.
But it seems like I have 0% chance of getting either of the two items from the Murkmire event despite doing dailies on 13 characters, running dungeons non-stop all day, and farming bosses for hours.

No. Thats not unlucky. Unlucky is finding out the fragments aren't tradable after opening the only one on an alternate account. Unlucky would be getting 7 of the same peices and not being able to trade any of them.

This is unacceptable.

They're killing it, alright. And trolling the players while they're at it. There is no rhyme or reason to what can and can't be traded, what can or can't be stacked... Guess you'll just have to farm those boxes for the next two weeks and inflate their active player numbers, or pony up for the extra tickets from the clown store.

I always thought it was like the Molag Bol fight in the sewers. If you want loot be in the top 12 damage dealers.

This is a test, probably. To see how many customers they can sucker into the cash shop. Don’t fall for it.

We will only see more of this from here unless by some miracle they don’t sucker as many players as they projected.

Thats a pain, but its not really an issue for me. The problem is that there are practically 0 strongboxes dropping aside from the first one and the only way to possibly get all 14 exact different pieces out of the 13 boxes is $$$$$$$. The extra RNG strongboxes might as well not exist.

I was hoping on getting one or two every few hours of them dropping, and then trading the extra pieces for the ones I needed. I have been massively disappointed in almost every aspect of this event.

Killed a salamander today and got three tickets plus a grave stake fragment on my main account ... after reading the Event details (twice) and noting the grave stake collectible memento would appear in fragments.

If all you want is tickets, and not enough fragments to actually make a pet or a memento, then yeah I guess everything is fine for you.

and yet again, you are here misinterpreting the issue.

here. let me explain.

fragments are NOT a guaranteed drop from strongboxes. you are only guaranteed one strongbox per day - the one you got. fragments are NOT tradable with other people.

so. you could be reading the event details (twice), getting your tickets and strongboxes every day.. and STILL not ending up with enough fragments to make both pet and memento. and before you say anything else that is pithy and in defense of ZoS. fragments. are. not. tradable. they. are NOT. a guaranteed. drop. they cost 5 tickets each. you need 70 tickets to buy all the fragments. you can only get 39 tickets through entirety of the event. you can ONLY store 12 tickets on account so you can NOT wait until the end of the event to buy only the fragments you are missing, in hopes that you got at least some of them to drop during event. there is NO way to predict which specific fragments may or may not drop for you, so you have to spend tickets blind. picture getting clearer yet?


currently, the ONLY way to guaranteed that you can collect both memento and pet is crownstore.

10 hours of farming and getting nothing means that either I'm the unluckiest player in the game or for 99.99999% of the population, 1 per day is realistically all they are getting.

yes. have you read people's accounts of how OFTEN those strongobxes drop? have you tried farming them yourself? have you considered that even if you farm for hours and actualy manage to get a bonus strongbox - you are STILL not guaranteed those fragments? have you?

Yet I have had no issues getting g what the event promised. You just need patience and a bit of luck. Ppl need to stop expecting things to be handed to them like zos is their mother.

I know and understand what their system for this event is and ill tell you that after 2hrs farming everything in zone nothing is dropping the exact boxes at an acceptable rate to for see getting everything done it took killing 1 wb no drop and 1 add to get 1st box yet after 2 full hrs killing everything looting everything picking everything mining everything not an 2nd box drop i did everything on an toon thats never been in zone but yet is now 100% done there while getting NOTHINGNESS for the event thats going on in that AREA

Did you begin the event in a group? I've been told that grouping is the reason some of us aren't getting our tickets. If a group member runs ahead , kills something, loots it, gets tickets and box...but you are too far behind or away to loot that same pile of remains, then you will get nothing for the day...

Told myself I was going to get the Voriplasm pet on day one. Got the pet on day one. It was cute for about five minutes.

I'll re-cap my tickets and be done with the memento a few hours before the Update 25 download. Going to lose 20-ish tickets because I could get up to date on the Spectral Indrik berries but don't want to.

Zero fragment duplicates received. Strongboxes can have more than one fragment in them.




It's just too early to say the event has horrible RNG. It would be like calling the results of the Super Bowl four minutes into the first quarter. Let's re-evaluate ten days from now, which would be about six minutes left in the fourth quarter.

If we could trade the fragments I would agree wholehartedly. But for all my millions of gold, the only thing I can do is beg someone to trade me some tickets so I can purchase the event rewards.

Good or bad, RNG still means that lucky people get the rewards and those who grind get nothing. And I'm certain you didn't magically find 7 voriplasm fragments in your first 7 extra strongboxes.

it seems like more people are reporting getting NO fragments. you are the only person so far to have gotten doulbe fragments.

when you assembled a pet - did you farm strongboxes? or did you just buy extra tickets from crownstore.

last but not least, I'm sorry, but what you got, given experiences of other people, me included being reported? is an equivalent of getting radiant apex mount from buying a single crown crate. is it impossible? no, it has happened to people. but is it actualy probably and reliable let alone demonstrable of actual drop rates? NOT even remotely.

and so are the box drops. its not like you can go on each and every alt and get some boxes. you get one box per account and then hope that rng takes pity and .. maybe gives you another box or two after hours of farming and then MAYBE you will get a fragment from one of those boxes

Not all boxes give fragments my 1 today gave 1 green and 1 blue sellable treasure thats all and i have zero fragments of both pet/memento and after 2hrs of trying to farm for another box and getting NOTHINGNESS i just stopped but hey i did get an other 100% completion for zone on an different toon 😆 😆 😆 good event

you literally got the equivalent of getting a radiant apex mount from the free crown crate, back when we still got free crown crates. the fact that you got enough boxes to drop (how long did you farm?), that they not only gave you fragments but DOUBLES of fragments and the ones you needed no less. this is NOT the experience of well.. everyone else.

Sure there is, anything that can generate more income for ZoS cannot be stacked. Anything that will generate more income for ZoS will have a terrible drop rate or will be locked behind having to endlessly farm for hours on end, even though this is suppose to be a game for casual players.

Not being able to trade the parts for the memento is so that you pay for event tickets to purchase the parts.

Or a better way of thinking about it is like this. Anything coded outside of actual bugs, that frustrates you is in some way connected to ZoS farming us for more money. There are many things coded to cause frustration, aggravation, negative feelings and emotions on purpose to drive that ever present need to squeeze every penny they can from your pockets. If you are frustrated and there is an easy payment method out of that frustration, many people will take that route, and that's what ZoS hopes you do.

Thankfully I don't really care what mount I ride, or the mementos or how long it takes me to accumulate enough tickets to obtain them, so I will never pay money to buy them, and I refuse to grind when the drop rates are so stupid low. I am not going to be manipulated and tricked into spending more money on a game. I will however gladly pay for excellent content with few bugs. I think game developers who present the very best efforts should be supported by the player base, but if they are coding for frustration to cause you to pay money to relieve that frustration, phffft, I'll move on to another MMO that treats their customers with the respect and dignity they deserve.

And I'll end up doing exactly that eventually I suspect. The feeling I get is that ZoS is only interested in squeezing it's game player base for every entertainment penny they are able, while providing substandard fixes and creating more frustration. It's sad. Imagine how much more enjoyable your free time would be if the game you played was all fun and no purposefully coded aggravation.

I wholeheartedly agree. That is why I only picked up ESO because they were allegedly committed to a subscription model (having had bad experiences with other MMOs that went F2P). That is why I was worried when they walked back on their word and introduced optional subs and the clown store. The decrease in content quality and increase in player aggravation as a way to monetize frustration, alongside a year of empty promises regarding performance fixes, is why I've already been away from the game for over two years and why I've now cancelled my sub again and have only logged in for the events for the past few months. And that is why I'm waiting for a new game currently in development, hoping that, unlike ZOS, this developer will keep their word about having no in-game store.
