So this is why i didnt get my tickets and box. Wow ZoS you know how to celebrate an event.

Put auto-loot on, that helps not missing those drops.

During the Dragon Rise event, boss tickets were guaranteed in addition to the random chance mods. So it only took a couple boss kills to confirm that you'd missed out on your tickets and needed to contact Support.

Not hours of grinding with no certainty about what happened.

Ok wise one. Please list one believable reason that builds a case for the shift from guaranteed tickets to a full RNG system.

The ticket RNG may not be the worst of it.

According to some, the strongboxes - which apparently have a poor drop rate beyond the first per day which is guaranteed - only have a *chance* to contain the fragments needed to create the mementos for the event. I can neither confirm nor deny this at this time. What I can confirm is that the fragments are not tradable, which is a significant departure from previous events and far more worrying. Combine this with randomized fragments for the mementos and we get a situation where players are straight up unable to earn all event rewards by actually playing the game. I mean, we all know (or should know) by this point ESO is a play-to-pay game, but... really? I mean, really?

This might be my last year putting up with the BS from $enimax corporate. I'm just so damn sick of this crap ruining what is otherwise is a fantastic game.

I got 1 green 1 blue saleable treasure out of my daily strongbox no fragment at all so no they dont have an guaranteed drop in every box

Thanks. This is very unfortunate. Pretty much corroborates that this event is designed to inconvenience customers and shove them in the direction of the cash shop if they want all the rewards. We don't know the drop rate for the strongboxes, but the house will always stack the odds in its favor as a general rule.

    *sigh*

I would have rather they just put the pet and grave stake memento in the cash shop at this point. At least that would have been transparent.

Believable reason? Well, ignoring the part where no reason will ever be "believable" to the "OMG, it's a conspiracy to force us to buy tickets!" crowd.... they want to encourage people to actually play the event zone, not just pop in, kill one mob, and go away.

And it still didn't work, given that many people are getting their tickets & box in under 6 mobs.

What they managed to do, instead, was to kill the incentive to group up until after you've got your tickets.

Which is just bizarre. In nearly every other zone event besides Dragon Rise, players want to group up to share delves and world boss dailies. Now? If you group up before you get your tickets, you risk losing your tickets on a group member's kill and you'll never know about it because there's not even a guaranteed drop to check.

This is an MMO. Grouping up shouldn't risk missing out on your daily reward.

If ZOS really wanted to use special event rewards to get people to stay and play the Zone?
    A. Make tickets drop from doing a daily quest, like the Anniversary, Orsinium, Morrowind, or TG/DB events.
    B. Increase the drop rate on the strongboxes so that players actually feel like there's a point to grinding for them.

I've farmed the thing for 9 hours, got 6 strongboxes and 1 fragment.

I am really not happy right now. I don't need stuff to drop like confetti, but at least up the drop rate a bit and make it tradeable so that I have a chance of getting the 14 pieces that I need for both collectibles in the 13 days of this event

I tend to avoid doing things in groups, in this game (even though I did inv people, today, to share), due to the quest item bug that seems to affect almost everything.

People, invariably, run ahead and if they loot even one quest item, before you get close to the area, it won't register for you, the item markers will disappear after you have collected 3/4 and you will always be left one short.

This bug has been in the game, roughly, since dinosaurs roamed the earth and yet, no one ever fixes it...

Worst thing is, you don't even know it's bugged, until you have tried to collect all the items and then realise you don't have one of them and (in the case of boss quests) this is often after the group has killed the boss, or (in the case of delve quests) after you have run through the entire delve.

...and now we, apparently, also have the possibility that you miss looting the one mob that has your tickets for the day...

Better to do everything on your own, sadly.

Not very sociable, but there you go.

I was in a group with my spouse (S) and friend (F) the moment the event started. We were doing the delve quest called "The Weight of Words." "S" has a bad habbit of running ahead as if the rest of the group doesn't exist. S got 3 tickets and a stronghold box after killing the delve boss (way ahead of the rest of the group). This also caused my quest to bug out and I couldn't get the tablet of the destroyer. "F" and I got no tickets at all, and the only way I'd be able to complete that quest was by abandoning it and picking it up again. I eventually repeated that quest successfully, starting over alone, and got no tickets. I looted everything! I spent 9 hours killing everything in Murkmire that I could find. Just a moment ago I read this comment:

"Be careful of grouping, though, because if you miss looting even one mob that someone in your group has killed, that might have been your tickets for the day."

Can anyone officially verify this? Is it now impossible for me to get my tickets today? I knew better than to group up with "S", as "S" frequently causes questing issues because of running ahead...However, I didn't expect it would cause me to loose my tickets for the day. I wouldn't have spent 9 hours trying to get them had I known this. Hoping I still have a chance of acquiring them. I invested too much time not to have received my tickets.

This is just stupid. Getting tickets for daily quests worked just fine, why did they change it?
And I hate the fact that we cannot trade memento and pet parts. Feels like they just want us to buy tickets, very manipulative.

The parts aren't tradable? I know the ones purchased from the Impresario aren't, but I would have assumed that the ones that drop from the strongboxes would be.

No, I looted one from my daily strongbox, and it was automatically added to my collections (where indrik feathers are).
And apparently I was lucky, they're not even guaranteed to drop from these strongboxes.

If they want people to play the content and engage with the wider community, they would have encouraged people to group and trade amongst themselves.

However, grouping is an active detriment. The second you group up, anything anyone in that group kills could have your tickets on it, and you might never see it.

You can’t trade or sell any fragments you get, it auto unlocks with a low af drop rates.

You can’t swap daily quests because grouping had a good chance to ruin your abilities to get tickets.

We’ve seen plenty showing the double rewards are plenty incentive to keep playing the area during an event, sticking every event exclusive reward behind RNG did nothing but frustrate.

I don't expect to see those tickets, I just know know to do them alone for the remainder of the event. You do know most games companies do, routinely, rig the system, to encourage sales, right?

You have seen the videos where a speaker tells other devs exactly how to do it?

It's not, in any way, a far-fetched idea.

I'm not saying they are setting out to do that, here, in this specific situation.

I'm just bemused that anyone would liken it to conspiracy theory, given what that description has been manipulated to suggest.

Even though there, clearly, are some actual conspiracies going on in this world and so, people talking, or theorising, about them is only to be expected.

Also, they could have given you the fragments and then let you decide whether you wanted to trade them, or add them to your Collections tab.

It doesn't have to be either/or and yet, it is.
