Ok wise one. Please list one believable reason that builds a case for the shift from guaranteed tickets to a full RNG system.
The ticket RNG may not be the worst of it.
According to some, the strongboxes - which apparently have a poor drop rate beyond the first per day which is guaranteed - only have a *chance* to contain the fragments needed to create the mementos for the event. I can neither confirm nor deny this at this time. What I can confirm is that the fragments are not tradable, which is a significant departure from previous events and far more worrying. Combine this with randomized fragments for the mementos and we get a situation where players are straight up unable to earn all event rewards by actually playing the game. I mean, we all know (or should know) by this point ESO is a play-to-pay game, but... really? I mean, really?
This might be my last year putting up with the BS from $enimax corporate. I'm just so damn sick of this crap ruining what is otherwise is a fantastic game.

Believable reason? Well, ignoring the part where no reason will ever be "believable" to the "OMG, it's a conspiracy to force us to buy tickets!" crowd.... they want to encourage people to actually play the event zone, not just pop in, kill one mob, and go away.
And it still didn't work, given that many people are getting their tickets & box in under 6 mobs.

I was in a group with my spouse (S) and friend (F) the moment the event started. We were doing the delve quest called "The Weight of Words." "S" has a bad habbit of running ahead as if the rest of the group doesn't exist. S got 3 tickets and a stronghold box after killing the delve boss (way ahead of the rest of the group). This also caused my quest to bug out and I couldn't get the tablet of the destroyer. "F" and I got no tickets at all, and the only way I'd be able to complete that quest was by abandoning it and picking it up again. I eventually repeated that quest successfully, starting over alone, and got no tickets. I looted everything! I spent 9 hours killing everything in Murkmire that I could find. Just a moment ago I read this comment:
"Be careful of grouping, though, because if you miss looting even one mob that someone in your group has killed, that might have been your tickets for the day."
Can anyone officially verify this? Is it now impossible for me to get my tickets today? I knew better than to group up with "S", as "S" frequently causes questing issues because of running ahead...However, I didn't expect it would cause me to loose my tickets for the day. I wouldn't have spent 9 hours trying to get them had I known this. Hoping I still have a chance of acquiring them. I invested too much time not to have received my tickets.

And I hate the fact that we cannot trade memento and pet parts. Feels like they just want us to buy tickets, very manipulative.
The parts aren't tradable? I know the ones purchased from the Impresario aren't, but I would have assumed that the ones that drop from the strongboxes would be.

I haven't really paid much attention to all this and the event what do you actually get? What's the prize at the end?

It's pretty far-fetched to try to accuse anyone, who thinks a business might be trying to maximise profits, of being a conspiracy theorist.

There's another Indrick Mount (translucent one), a Wooden Grave-Stake Memento and a Voriplasm Pet:

It's the difference between "they're open to the chance to earn some profit there" and "they're maliciously rigging the system to force us to..."
Hopefully support helps you out.
And if my husband pulled that while we were grouped, I’d dutch oven him daily for like a week. Maybe flush the toilet while he showered too, for good measure.

(and it's honestly a no-win situation. People who don't care about the Indriks keep posting "hey, can we have some other options to spend tickets on?" threads. But when they do add other things, the "Must Get 100%" people start screaming that they're just doing it to screw people over & make them buy tickets, )
edit: and just like the whole "fragments get auto-added to your Collection" can be seen as either "hey, they're responding to our calls for more storage, by making these things not take space! Excellent!" or "dammit, they're not tradable/sellable/etc, they did it to ruin things for us!" Depending on if you assume an adversarial relationship between players & devs, or not.
