I was in a group with my spouse (S) and friend (F) the moment the event started. We were doing the delve quest called "The Weight of Words." "S" has a bad habbit of running ahead as if the rest of the group doesn't exist. S got 3 tickets and a stronghold box after killing the delve boss (way ahead of the rest of the group). This also caused my quest to bug out and I couldn't get the tablet of the destroyer. "F" and I got no tickets at all, and the only way I'd be able to complete that quest was by abandoning it and picking it up again. I eventually repeated that quest successfully, starting over alone, and got no tickets. I looted everything! I spent 9 hours killing everything in Murkmire that I could find. Just a moment ago I read this comment:
"Be careful of grouping, though, because if you miss looting even one mob that someone in your group has killed, that might have been your tickets for the day."
Can anyone officially verify this? Is it now impossible for me to get my tickets today? I knew better than to group up with "S", as "S" frequently causes questing issues because of running ahead...However, I didn't expect it would cause me to loose my tickets for the day. I wouldn't have spent 9 hours trying to get them had I known this. Hoping I still have a chance of acquiring them. I invested too much time not to have received my tickets.

Oh wow. I will certainly not be grouping up for anything during this event... Lesson learned the hard way :-(
Thanks for verifying. To everyone else who has been grinding all day to no avail, if you were in a group at some point and didn't get your tickets, give it up. You aren't getting them today! Don't learn as I did.
I hope everyone who participated gets their tickets, but this is clearly not the case...

And I hate the fact that we cannot trade memento and pet parts. Feels like they just want us to buy tickets, very manipulative.

for me it is just best event so far - 10 seconds and tickets are done
(and it is 39 tickets per event which i have nothing to spend on)
sad to know that such things as lost party loot can happen
Not victim blaming, you have all the rights to be pissed, BUT (nothing after these kinds of "but" is good) they did warn you to be mindful of grouping. Not the first event this happens either. Not the second. Prooooobably not the last. There's a reason that warning is there, there's a reason you read it. Following that advice would be the best thing to do. As of tomorrow, go solo for tickets, group after, is the best advice I can give. I had NO trouble in any events so far but simply reading the rules for the event and following the tips. Should be that simple, but it's ZOS so it isn't, therefore follow their guidelines.
And it's just 3 tickets... Much worse is that you wasted 9h on something you probably lost on the first 5 minutes and we have no way of knowing. That's the stupidest design flaw.

ZOS was warned well in advance grouping would short people of tickets with the way they set it up. They chose to do it that way intentionally knowing people would lose tickets. It doesn’t matter how much ZOS “warns” people when they’re the ones making the hazards when there is zero reason to besides attempting to boost their own profits.

If they wanted to short us, they would give us two tickets, not three. That's the end of this conspiracy.
Give me something reasonable, please.
Yeah that's a conspiracy to make you buy tickets. Earth is flat, too. And the global syndicate of pharmaceutical companies is spreading diseases to make people buy medicines...

Ok wise one. Please list one believable reason that builds a case for the shift from guaranteed tickets to a full RNG system.
