I can support them removing the conditions from the crown store plus the cure especially the cure since lol its like 800 gold in game by going to an npc in the mages guild in Bangkorai, Reapers March and The Rift. Cure shouldn't have been there to begin with.

But I do not support the removal of players being able to give other players bites. Plus the uproar over this would be legendary. Its a very bad idea one of the worst I've ever seen. Because being bit by a player is the only real reliable way to get either condition. The Npcs are the worst way. Why the spawn times for the npcs are horrible and if you kill them they don't re spawn that is why I have never been able to get it from an npc version only by players.

and back in the day when bites were like 20k guilds would send people to camp the spawn spot of the npc and kill it so no one could get a free bite that way.

Well, that's just outrageous. I hope they all got reported and banned.

How about go play the game and quit begging.

You can turn off chat if the rare request for a bite bothers you this much. It is not a big deal and seems like something petty to try to argue against. Based on your argument you seem to be a new player so I will leave it at that.

I'm just jumping in to say "lf vamp bite" is not rare in Zone. At all.

Seriously why do you have the scrolls for vampire and werewolf in the crown store then allow players to bypass that for free? You need to remove players being able to infect other players as well as the crown store scrolls and make people go play the game...

You have to play the game (socially) to get a bite from another player. Even if it's just yelling incoherently in zone chat.

Console has always had issues. lol. Why I no longer play on consoles. At that I do not pay attention to zone chat as half of it is trolls and bad trolls at that.

The fact that the very first person could not sit in a zone begging to get bit and had to go play the game proves my point to everyone in this thread trying to defend their argument with Bites have been in the game since launch or the crown store. Not too mention you couldn't even get to WW/VAMP until you hit level 50 (Which was at that time end game content)

You cannot use bites always having been in the game as a counter argument without the frist bunch of people had to actually work to get it and was not handed to them.

If you don't buy it from the crown store you're stealing money from Zeinmax (It does not matter if Zenimax did that to themselves) using other players means you want everything haned to you and don't want to play the gamer and do any actual work.

Either way you're all trolls trying to make excuses to ignore the issue.

"Blood-Fiend Vampires are known to spawn only at night (usually around midnight ingame time) at several locations in level 37-44 zones of each faction, but it has been done by some players at only Level 15. So these non-player character (NPC) Blood-fiend Vampires (game-generated enemies), definitely spawn in the Rift, Bangkorai and Reaper’s March."

That goes all the way back to when zones had levels so your level fifty argument is disinformation.

Early in the game there was a bit of an uproar because a few players that had vampires were camping the spawn sites killing the NPCs quickly so nobody else could get a bite. That way they could demand higher prices to provide the bite. That was the only time in the game really when it was hard to get a bite from an NPC. Three of my characters got Vampire by accident. Took me about a week of checking in zone during the appropriate moon phase to get the bite on the character I wanted. In all maybe an hour of game play definitely less than two hours. In a guild I was a member of it was kind of bragging rights to be able and claim you were bitten by the guild leader. Not that she ever refused to bite someone if they asked and she had a bite available was more just a quirk of the guild.
I don't mind bites being available in the crown store but I don't see any reason to go that route given how easy it is to get the bite in game.
And if we took your argument to its obvious conclusion once we level our first character we are stealing from Zenimax if we then don't purchase skill lines and sky shards for the rest of our characters from the crown store.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Doubt it as they used the mechanics designed by Zos. Also, they were not very good at it and it did not last long. Though the vamp bite did cost plenty for awhile but those who were smart asked in guild chat since guild mates often give it to friends for free.

A lot of players give them away for free now adays so it isn't hard to get a free bite. Very easy in fact. Some might sell them but I doubt maybe bite since they can just get someone to give it to them for free. Crownstore isn't free and I do recommend players not getting it there. Because well its a waste of crowns.

I'm basically repeating what has already been said, but I've been around back when the crown store bites were not even in the game. If you wanted to be a werewolf or vampire you had to get it from an NPC or another player. The whole idea of getting rid of the ability to turn other people is ridiculous as it even comes with a 7 day timer!!!

Yes, we should be able to get bites by playing the game. But that would require vampires and werewolves to be actually infectious - which they aren't. I dare you to go to Camlorn and get bitten from Faolchu. Too easy, you say? Okay then, go to March of Sacrifices and get bitten by Balorgh. Then come back and tell us how it worked to you. :p

They are, you just need to get the right werewolves or blood fiends. (No idea why the ones that turn you into a vampire aren't called vampires). They're in Bangkorai, Reaper's March and The Rift, but only on certain nights. It used to be linked to the phases of the moon (in game) but isn't any more for some reason.

Oh, I must have read an older version then. A good IRL friend actually got accidentally infected by a blood fiend in The Rift (IIRC), and has chosen to continue to play as a vampire on that character. She hasn't had any luck finding a were yet for a different character.

Oddly enough I had the opposite problem. I decided I wanted to get a character infected by a bloodfiend and went looking for them (in Reaper's March) and found infectious werewolves on 3 or 4 different nights before I saw any bloodfiends. Although I couldn't be in-game during every night because a day in ESO is something like 6 hours long, and I still had to work, sleep and do other things so I assume I just had terrible luck and kept missing the bloodfiends.

Slightly worryingly I also spoke to several people who insisted it's not, and never was, possible to get infected by an NPC and you had to buy it from the crown store or get a bite from someone who bought it from the crown store. Of course they claimed that meant you should pay for bites because it's not fair to get it for free when someone else had to pay. Some of them apparently didn't know it had been possible to be a vamp or werewolf before the bites were added to the store (and some didn't know there was a time when the crown store didn't exist), others just told me I was lying about that to try and scam free bites.

Ouch. My sister and nephew (as well as my daughter and younger granddaughter) all were in the open beta, and while daughter/granddaughter weren't (and still aren't) interested in TES (unlike me), sis and nephew played for a couple of years, and have returned off and on since.

Sister and nephew both got bites early on (during the moon phase in game situation most likely); daughter/granddaughter didn't play long enough (and neither care for that sort of "change" in any case - like me). So with the IRL friend now having done the same, seems as if it must still be a fairly common thing.

iirc the moon phases don't matter anymore. (If they ever did to begin with, im not 100%)

Its almost like there is a DLC that will involve Vampires being released soon or a Vampire rework for the base game, nah that can't possibly be the reason for the rise in people asking for a bite in zone chat.

I usually give away my Vampires free bite to guild mates first, if there are not takers to people I see in zone, never charged a single gold coin and always made sure to let them know if they change their mind and want to get cured they can go to an NPC in the mages guild to be cured for gold not waste their crowns.

I see nothing wrong with free bites, you can only bite someone every 7 days after all, not like your turning your entire guild or everyone that wants to be a Vampire or Werewolf in one go.

And before OP goes off about me ripping off ZOS etc.. I was one of the idiots that bought my bite from the crown store when I was starting out and didn't know better. Everybody I bite for free makes me feel a little better about wasting the crowns in the first place and saves others doing the same.

As for research scrolls you can get those off the writ vendor or from other players via guild stores.
