Wait, are you actually saying you want Crowns as a daily log-in reward? You do realize that, in a way, that would mean real-world money, right? Those are log-in rewards, we're talking about - they're a nice (or, admittedly, oftentimes meh) bonus on the side that you get for playing, which you would do anyway I assume, bonus or not. Wanting Crowns just for logging in is taking things way too far.

I, personally, am always happy about cosmetic stuff, especially the pet. I know a lot of people don't care about them, but I can never have enough pets and mounts. My favourite thing to spend my Crowns on.

Its not in frame but when i reinstalled my game to a new drive yesterday the disc only had less than 40gigs of that 107gb total on it.

For those of you who were actually kind, concerned, and made suggestions - I just begged a friend to send me his install folder again. He's happy to do so. I just hated to ask him again; but even with better internet, it's still satellite, and my one month allotment isn't enough to cover 80+ GB - and to have enough to download the game (without getting up at 2 am for every day for over a week), it really would cost me $150 US, and then not leave me data to even check my banks etc.

Satellite really sucks in a lot of ways, though it definitely IS better than dial up! In any case, I'd far rather pay ZOS some ungodly amount for a stick of the entire game, than have to buy it from the provider and run short on data anyway.

But hey, gotta be happy for friends. And I am.

Are Console players going to be downloading the new client in February? Or will we be getting a partial month of rewards and then be required to download the game in March while everyone else gets a full month? Or will there be multiple partial months?

It would. I'm aware that this is the 21st century, and it should be logical to assume that everyone in the US and other developed countries must have fast broadband with unlimited data. And of course, those in metroplexes around the world do have exactly that. However, in the US for instance, many millions of people live outside of cities or even larger municipalities, and service in those situations is marginal for many.

I love where I live: cheapest water and power, cleanest air, fewest neighbors anywhere south of Alaska's North Slope. But satellite "broadband" is all I have - because I live in the wrong end of the valley: those who live 2 miles east of me have that really great fast internet, but there's a huge ridge between my house and the towers, so no LOS.

When the monthly rewards first came out, someone from ZOS said that they would not require logging in every day to max out. Then at some point, they switched from about 25 days per month to every day. Then later, it switched to every day, but the "big" reward was in the middle. It's nice to have it at a reduced rate, tbh (assuming this implies that the same amount of rewards are spread over a shorter span).

I don't mind this as it means I don't have to play every day during an entire month or I miss out on stuff. Maybe I have to travel or it gets too busy at work. Whatever the reason I like the leeway to miss some days and not to lose out.

That's what I thought too. Additionally, I think the Research Rolls are great for newer players, who might not have researched everything. Though I didn't think, last month was bad either. Since I am currently making new glyphs all those Tel Var stones came in handy. (So, for me, that's two very nice months.)

It will literally take me most of a week. I live on a nature reserve in south east England. Stunningly beautiful, and I love everything about my house except for the slow-ass internet I work from home this time of year so can't download during the day, or it prevents me using the Internet for work. I have to leave my PC on all night, multiple nights in a row, to download new games these days.

It's the reason I haven't bought RDR2 yet, despite looking like my kind of game. 100+GB? Literally an entire week's download for me And I know there are people out there who have it even worse than I do.

Doesn't matter how fast your internet is when the other end botlenecks which is the likely outcome of this. I see ZOS management being prepared to just $weat it out rather than $tart extra capacity to keep things ticking over smoothly.

Rough for those with Satellite , I mean mine is super fast (even has acceptable latency) and I pay a small fortune for it, but at the end of the day that doesn't matter. After 40gb it's throttled down to like 128kbps lol. This essentially means I'd be downloading it for 2 months.

Just a matter of geography, a lot of people do not live near big cities. Currently I'm looking at my friends lists to see who I can bribe with $50 irl dollars to send it to me on a USB stick.

a 128Gb stick is about $18-$20, if ZoS wanted to they could negotiate a bulk purchase and probably get them for $10-$15, I mean legit Sandisks or Samsungs, not cheop trash ones. Load the game, sell it in the Store, and profit $35-$40 with zero work but buying a USB duplicator machine ( very very cheap on eBay) and hiring an intern for an hour a day. Something to think about @ZOS_SarahHecker

Yes, I do wish they could go that way. I've already got a friend who's going to send his install to me on stick. I dunno - probably get here faster from him than ordering from ZOS anyway.

Ahh, awesome, thank you! Because I play on PS4. Never have had a PC good enough to accommodate an MMO very enjoyably. Way back when, before console launch, when I was on that platform, had to have settings Low and Off, and performance was still only around 15 FPS for me.

So for many PC looks better. For me, it was night and day better when I shifted to PS4. I just can't afford a multi-thousand dollar computer. ^^' I grew up a console gamer anyway, and am right at home with it. Glad we are being thought of too~

Lets say ZoS decided to sell the USB sticks, what might the math look like?

Say they negotiate $15 their cost per 128 stick, and say they aim to sell 10,000 at $50 which is what I would gladly pay. That's $350,000 right there. Now, you'll need a hardware USB duplicator and someone to load them. An Accutower is about $2k or used Systors are $500. Lets call it $2k for a quality unit. Hire an intern for 8 hours a week for 6 months, about $3,500 in salary or so. Let's say postage to US addresses in $3 for a USB stick, there's $30k.

That's still a free profit of $314,500 USD for ZoS.

Of course, they would add in the shipping costs on top of the $50 like any other business. They could probably get the bulk USB sticks at $10 instead of $15.

This would bring the free profit to $394,500 USD for ZoS.

@ZOS_GinaBruno i advise having someone on your infrastructure management team comb through Zeni’s MSA with Akamai for metered monitoring details, before you set everyone up to have to download the game. All of your efforts will be for naught if they throttle the throughput “on your behalf”. I wish I could say more.
