I don't see monks as fitting to ESO as bards would for example. I think bards should be the next class coming next year hopefully

So which class would get nerfed into obsolescence in order to boost sales of the new one? Templars got it back when wardens came out and nb's when they introduced the necromancer. Sorc's or DK"s this time around?

Bards in combat are a real thing. even if they didn't actively take part in killing people real militaries had drummers and music people to boost morale.

Also the Dwemer are long gone by the 2nd era when ESO takes place.

Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Maormer could be a potential playable race, yes?

Why bother with a monk class when we all want to NECRO THREADS all day.

Tbh tho I do want a pugilist skill tree with WWE moves full of knockbacks to use on people in cyrodiil. I will pay zos in kidneys to drop kick someone off the side of a keep.

Considering that the classes we have now are imbalanced, i think adding a new class anytime soon is not a wise move. But i do understand where you are coming from and while i don't like Monks as a class in any game. I think having more classes is never a bad thing. But for now, i think they should just stick with what they already have and maybe add in a new race, since we haven't had one in like ever

New race is NEVER, ever going to happen. This is not a normal MMO. No other races have ever been playable in any of the TES games.

I would bet real life money that they never add such.

If only I would get paid for every single thing which didn't exist in TES and it's present in ESO...

Hand to hand classes used to be a thing a long time ago in Elder Scrolls games, but they seem hell bent on phasing it out along with spears and spell crafting systems... I wouldn't expect them to make any class like that anytime soon, if ever.

I don't think it could ever be unarmed in the game. Need some Penetration to be on par with everything else. But, Hand to Hand? Brass Knuckles or even Batons or Blackjacks, Darts etc would be fun.

Quarter Staffs would be a fun way to play. Of course these are more weapon lines than Classes.

That is the underlying issue in this game is the seperate weapon and class lines we have, where a Monk class would need them combined
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

    Bards!

War Chanting (debuff/tanking), Instruments (healing/support), Swashbuckling (DPS).

    Give it.

So no, Spellsword is not a build, it is a class-in-waiting, same as Monk.
    Nope.

A "class" in ESO has by the very structure of the game system fulfill TWO main points...
    • Not be tied to any -one- weapon choice
    • Viable for both magica and stamina builds
Monk is right out as class, since the whole idea of the "monk" premise for fantasy roleplaying is "punch your enemies!"

And Spellsword... is just a hybrid build using sword and sorcery in equal measure. Yes, back in the days of classes coming with weapon skills, it was a class in TES games. But in ESO, classes and weapon skills are -seperate-; so any "class" can be done with a "a little bit of both" setup between spell and sword.

Also... new classes are evil! EVIL I say!
Sure, some people who have not done many characters yet might enjoy them... but the ones who have been playing for four years and more, who already have several alts, and face the two great vexations that come with new classes due to the fact that unlike pretty much everything else, classes -cannot- be refitted to existing characters... yes, I am once again talking about the vexation at having to play through all the too-familiar content for the sixteenth time or more to enjoy the new class because we alreeady made all those characters back in the time before new classes; and even moreso the aggrivation of seeing a new class released and thinking "Why the [censored] was that [censored] class not [censored] available back at [censored] launch, it [censored] would have made so [censored] much more [censored] sense for that [censored] main character backstory of mine! [censored]! [censored]! [censored]!"
    :p;)
Hopefully not.... I’ve got visions of Mortal Kombat....
You mean, starting to wonder if someone might do Scorpion as a dragonknight monk, or Quan Chi as necromancer monk, or Raiden as sorceror monk, or Sub-Zero as warden monk, or... or... or... ;)
Oooh a new race would be cool...
    Been there, posted that: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/422285/new-player-race-possibilities/p1
...the only race that might make sense is the Dwemer?
Actually nope, they would make no sense at all.
Cant remember lore wise when they vanished, but its the only other race known in Tamriel
Almost three thousand years before the events of ESO. (2802 to be precise - Dwemer vanished in year 700 of the first era, which lasted until 2920, ESO happens in year 582 of the second era... so...) Yeah, its been a while.
I'd definitely be down for an Unarmed skill line.
Been there, posted that too: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/371862/additional-weapon-skill-ideas-mk-ii/p1 ;)
Would love to see some bar brawls lmao
That was the general idea! :p;)

    1. Brawler, bar fighter, anything hands on, mugs, bottle, chairs.
    2. pit fight, endurance duel.
    3. shaolin master, cestus, katar, or main-gache (small bashing hand shield), regen ability.
