Premade BG groups and solo queue

Voice_of_Chronicles
How about instead of removing the possibility of queueing as a group, you allow for:

A: two different kinds of queues, solo and group queue ( I know this has been suggested several times and I wonder why they don't change it to that in the first place...)
B: at least allow for up to two players to queue together

Please consider this, because ....even though I very much look forward to these changes finally I can prove my mettle against a random bunch I know that most of the ppl actively playing BGs are the ones teaming up with at least one partner. And have been teaming up, in order not to get too frustrated when fighting 4 man premades. I don't have access to the numbers you have, but I bet, allowing for up two 2 players to team up will be more beneficial for BGs than, as the interest in them remains high, while you take away too much power from premades. Whereas by allowing only solo queue you take away the incentive to play for many of those you have teamed up with a buddy in the past couple of years. And don't forget that this is a game mode best to be enjoyed together.

Just my opinion...what do you think?

A: They won't do it because thats the worst thing you can do to destroy an already low population. Paywalling and seperating your queue is an awful idea. Have fun waiting for 10m+ for a match. This is most likely the reason they moved BG and IC to the base game, to increase the population sizes and offer a more enjoyable experience. It's also why many games have moved away from selling PVP DLC maps that seperates players.

    B: I like that.

Alcast said something interesting in a stream before U25 patch notes. He said to remove groups in queue, but to allow events or a weekend a month for group queues.

I think once a month is too little, events may be too rare. Perhaps every Friday night or weekends, but it would be the best of both worlds.

I do like just keeping it at a maximum of 2 players though.

See https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/509224/pts-update-25-feedback-thread-for-battlegrounds-solo-queuing for the official thread.

I do think there is desire for a group queue. I think:

    1) A solo/duo queue, where no team can have more than 1 duo,
    and
    2) A 4 man queue

Would be welcome. Yes, the 4 man queue will have a long wait. But many already have 20-45min waits as it is! So I think a 4 person queue would be fine, especially if it is on a different leaderboard, and perhaps only Deathmatch, or somesuch.

Problem with even that idea is this, I play bg with my wife most of the time (80-90%) as a duo que. If you tell us that we can only que one night a week in a gameplay mode that is not intended for solo play because it is a group activity, that just means for the other 5-6 days of the week we find another game to play together. Eventually we just stop logging in all together because the other game drew us in while eso pushed us out.

We are not the only ones with these feelings. I think you will lose a lot more people than you think with just duo quos alone. Think Everytime you gain 1 "solo" player and lose a duo team then you really lost 1 person not gained 1 player. I know a lot of people that only duo. To a lot of people playing a MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE game, we play it to play with other people. If I wanted to play solo I would be on Skyrim instead of a MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME.
