SUPER Excited for Greymoor, BUT Wood Elf decreased detection radius passive, when???

It’s been more than a year since this change to the Wood Elf racial passive with the Murkmire Patch (if I remember correctly) and I have felt it’s impact ever since that change with my constant failed attempts at lockpicking the Bank of Mournhold Strongbox and Pickpocketing undetected.🙃 I just want to be that Lore-friendly Sneaky Wood Elf thief that I had initially created and mained for years that could stay hidden and do their Illegal endeavors (like lockpicking the Mournhold Bank Strongbox) without constant detection from everyone around them.

Since the passive change, I have never made use of that increased radius of detecting stealthed enemies, tbh.

Please Zos, let the Graymoor chapter return to the trend of past TES wood elf racial passives, and let me be that thieving Wood Elf that all the other races warn about when it comes to their coin pouch.

Agreed, it's a shame they turned their back on 20 years of TES stealthy wood elf lore, and gave us a very situational PvP only racial passive that absolutely nobody asked for in exchange.

The Bosmer people are true fighters are they not? To be honest I hope they succeed as my one singular Bosmer alt misses her sneak passive greatly.

I changed my Bosmer thief to a Khajiit namee Grumpy Ex Wood Elf. But I haven't really enjoyed playing him since.

That will be particularly annoying if it turns out that a thief build is good for the Antiquities mechanism.

We can always hope that someday they will hire a lore / combat team that values TES tradition, doesn't bring back sacrificed heroes to sell DLC, etc. But even if they don't, they will hear us until they turn out the lights for the last time.

One could only hope that those 2 races (Bosmer & Argonian) would see some improvements on PTS. They are the only 2 races that people seem to point out are underperforming and do not meet the original racial rebalance goals:

Maybe when they fix the fact that stealth reduction radius can be bugged to make you completely undetectable and work better than cloak.

Well, I guess Inner Light does the job, too, but then again it's a Mages Guild skill, and from what we know about Lyris I highly doubt she'd use one of those. Bearded Nord guy doesn't really look like that would be his forte either. And unless he didn't pull a skill that works similarly and activates by closing your eyes for a second out of his arse there, I think we can rule that out.

Other than that, whenever I see threads like this I'm kind of torn between being pretty sure that ZOS doesn't plan on changing any of the racial passives anytime soon... and still hoping against my better judgment that they might, if we keep being vocal enough about it, so I won't give up, no matter how futile it may be.

Edit: I just rewatched that trailer and it seems to me like those vamps are not even using stealth but rather Mist Form. Which would mean stealth detection would be completely useless in that case anyway.

Especially if they add a bunch of stealth related quests to the main story again like they did in Elsweyr (sneak into X, steal Y, don't kill anyone). That was just a thumb in the eye for losing Bosmer stealth.

Stealth detection remains useless in PVE and boderline useless (as well as bugged to be actually detrimental) in PVP. This has never been addressed. I will never let that go.

Also, Bosmer stand with our Argonian fellows!

I tried bosmer stealth archer.. I'm curious, where exactly are their awesome bow & stealth passives they should have? Not a fan of the evade for pen, doesn't make much sense to increase offense by evading.

Not to mention you're burning offensive resources to roll around, plus you aren't doing any damage while tumbling around on the ground, either (unless your're planting easily avoidable runes or doing minor damage rolling through enemies dumb enough to stand there while you roll around in your cheesy sub-par armor set.)

My idea for anyone who actually wants a detect stealthed enemies passive (haven’t heard anyone tbh) is that it is added as a Werewolf human form passive, since Greymoor is about both Vampires and Werewolves, plus Werewolves have heightened senses lore-wise so it adds some RP flavour to being a WW. This change I’m suggesting is assuming us Wood Elves get our Stealth detection radius reduction back

Ofcourse, this passive is without the old crit from stealth, since that would be very balance related and I’m purely talking about lore immersive elements and PvE Legerdemain activity.

And for my Lizard Brethren, I guess the reason ZOS is avoiding Argonian passives, because the passives in question are tied to combat balance. However, I do suggest bringing up a post about Argonian passives every now and again as the least it would do is constantly remind the community and maybe Devs that skim over forum topics about the issue.

Yes I hope they show some love for wood elves, they are sneaky they even have a rite of thievery or something like that, even the books you find around valenwood talk about how sneaky they are, that they are all day robing and we get a passive that just works in pvp and is just for bombers you do not catch anyway because they most likely use invisibility to approach the final meters, I mean very useless.

Even if that’s true, I dare say most of is couldn’t care less about that: it’s not about being bis it’s about maintaining the abilities and identity they always had in the lore!

That passive should be moved to the Fighter’s Guild skill line since the theme seems to be hunting down daedra, vampires and werewolves. I think it would be quite fitting and then people could take it or not depending on whether they do PvP, etc.

It was in Wrathstone, not Murkmire, but we started talking about it during Murkmire because of PTS.
Also, it's been over a year now. I'm sure if it hadn't been closed down, the thread would have reached 200 pages by now
