Changes I would like to see

1.) Mount speed. And this is includes when you first start the game. You can outrun your own horse on foot. Kind of stupid. Also dealing with mount speed, I think its ridiculous that it will take you 6 months to upgrade your mount all the way. That's insane. Think it should be account bound so you don't have to keep doing it over and over.
2.) For new players or when creating a new character. It always starts you in the latest DLC zone. Why not start us in the faction zone we select like the base game used too? For new players it throws them all over the place without learning your faction story.
3.) The Twitch drop crates are just stupid. Majority of the time its Poisons and potions with occasional XP buff. STUPID.
4.) Faction Swap. Its about time its available. Game is going on 6 years and still limited on these types of things.
5.) The crown store prices are just ridiculous for certain things.( granted I know ZOS has to make money, but geez)
6.) PVP..In the last 6 years we have had one big DLC for PVP. Not counting the battlegrounds. Open world PVP content is lack there of.
7.) World guild trader. I know this is a big fuss for many. It takes away the immersion of guilds. Their could be other incentives for guilds that could be introduced. Top guilds on the world market get a bonus of gold for players, Running with guild mates in content gives Bonus XP and gold drops, ect. ect.
8.) A damage and healing bored for dungeons and trials. Shows DPS and Healing stats for groups at the end of the dung/trial. I know about the save file thing they introduced, but a menu that pops up after or one you can access mid dung/trial by a click of the button to see where you stand amongst your peers would be awesome.
9.) Would like to see some in game pop up events all across the world at random locations. (Like how the dragons show up in Elswyer.) But be some sort of boss or Daedric enemy. Or a faction army invading your faction land. Something that would have a time limit on it and require groups of people to accomplish. Think it would be amazing. Could even give some good rewards with it due to the severity of it.
10.) Would like to see more bank space available.
11.) Take the cap off of Transmute Crystals. Have so many that I can't open due to full capacity.
12.) Would like to be able to fight Dragons in other parts of the world
13.) Something for RP that would be interesting would be the ability to purchase NPC's for your homes/guild halls. A drunk, bartender, undaunted guys, fighters/mages guild, waiters, customers, maids/butlers, slaves, ect. And they would interact like open world NPC's to an extent.
14.) Think we should be able to sell anything in the game we acquire. This goes from undaunted chests with keys to trial gear to store stuff. Think its silly we can't since we do the work to earn it. Should be able to sell it if we choose. Many players never achieve certain items and if they could buy them from a vendor it would change their game.
15.) Vampires/Werewolfves. Think that the vampire look could drastically use an overhaul. Maybe show the face deformity with big teeth and elongated ears, change up the ultimate to actually change into something you would see in a horror film when the batswarm is activated(sort of like how wereworlf actually changes into a wolf.)
16.) The ability to play any class. This goes back to a business has to make money, but new players that are trying out the game are not able to access Necro and warden which might defer them if thats what they had their mind on playing.
17.) Maybe some weather changes across the world. During our real life time of the year reflect in game in zones. Be cool to see it snowing in Deshan or Stonefalls.
18.) I know it will never happen but Flying mounts would be amazing. Dragons and creatures to ride across the sky would be awesome.
19.) On the note of mounts, maybe introduce small baby mounts about the size of a pet. You equip them while your questing and can level them up into a full grown mount at your disposal with the ability to keep and train or sell on the vendor. This could introduce a wide variety of mounts that could be unique to everyone in the game ad well as open up the guild market for players.
20.) Think it would be cool to see bank wagons rolling through certain parts of the world. This could lead to quests that introduce robbing them as part of Thieves guild. Also could allow players to access them just like they would if they were in a city.
21.) Maybe introduce a Mayor/Governor system for Cities and towns. Along with it would come a title. This could come from data collected for the highest player on the guild system sales. Other words, top player out of all the guilds in that city would be named Governor for X amount of time. Give incentive to get more players in the market and help guilds grow.
22.) Maybe have the Kings/Queens of the faction areas make in game appearances through royal march. Bare with me...Your standing in the middle of the capitol or other city of your faction and everyone hears trumpets sound. With that you begin to see NPC's crowd the streets as you see the royal guards and calvary escort the covered wagon into your capitol. They proceed to X location where you can go and watch as the King/Queen gives a speech to the people. If you attend you receive a small amount of gold. This idea is way out their but would be simply amazing to witness in game.

I could go on and on about the fantasy ideas that would be amazing to witness in game and participate in. I know a lot of the above will never happen but its just ideas I think would be great for the game.
What are some ideas you guys have no matter how far fetched they seem?

Hope to see you all in game PC NA @STEEL

I'm just gonna hit on ones I don't like (imo).
    3. Don't do Twitch Drops then; problem solved. A lot of us enjoy the free gems at the cost of doing something we would have already done.
    4. PvP's already a nightmare enough for them to fix/deal with, I don't want them to also have to worry about everyone switching to X faction.
    6. Yeah again let's have them fix the current PvP issues before we get to "Adding New Open World PvP Content."
    8. Get an addon; there aren't many (if any) MMORPGs that inherently include DPS/Heal meters because it breeds elitist communities and they don't want their player base getting shoved out of the game by ***holes.
    11. They've already said that Transmute Crystals were meant as an alternative source to obtaining traits on gear not as a primary one, if you have a stockpile of them delete some. You clearly aren't using it anyway.
    18. Flying mounts would be miserable since there would be invisible walls every 5 feet and completely unfinished maps in between zones.
    21. There is plenty of incentive already: it's called gold. You kinda need it to do things like decorate houses, buy motifs, etc. I don't see how this part of the game needs any incentive at all as it's literally end game at its finest.
    22. There's a war going on so I'm kinda impressed if my King/Queen has time to screw around and give speeches at random towns/cities. Or afraid, I don't know which term is more applicable.

Most of your complaints are things that are designed to be a pain in the butt. They create a mount and inventory problem so they can sell you the solution.

Inventory in this game is worse then 20 year old MMOs.

It’s just how the market has changed, and most the result of the free to play model. The model is trash.

I’ve always wondered how lag would be without all the free loaders. Plus without a monthly income stream from subs, it’s harder to rationalize a proper maintenance budget and the focus becomes pushing new content for sales rather then keeping the game working.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

Are we talking about the same game? I think you forgot this game is buy to play (initially), I'd say most people I know that play regularly are paying for a subscription too. Most people like picking up everything and most people enjoy the craft bag that is only available with ESO PLUS. Trust me, this game is making more money than you can imagine.

Sure there are some really great sales on the buy in to the game, but that stops a HUGE amount of players from even trying the game where something like "Ninjas Play Free" gets a huge amount of "free loaders".

Inventory is only an issue for non ESO plus.
Inventory in this game destroys inventory in Wow and FFXIV which are the only mmos worth mentioning, but if you want to go back to Everquest and Ultima Online the craft bag alone and the ability to access your bank from all characters is infinitely superior as well as bag space and upgrading them.

Then you have people talking about garbage like flying mounts? How lazy are you when you can waypoint pretty much anywhere anytime?

Twitch drops suck? They are free drops for leaving a screen open. Deal or don't watch the streams.

Nah. Mount speed is fine, and if it takes you too long... you are supposed to buy those crown riding lessons.
Which IS the "accunt wide" for ZOS - selling stuff in the crown store for "convenience"...

What IS missing would be a fourth stat... "persistance", that allows mounts to ride through water for a little while without poofing, since its -very- annoying if they go away when a puddle is just for one step too deep...
    Steel-256 wrote: »

And that is wrong, it should start -everyone- in colgharbour, and then... allow them to select their "drop-out point" as either the classic mainstory (starter isles) or one of the DLC regions for those who want to skip ahead (dropping you into their particular tutorial)
    Steel-256 wrote: »

    4.) Faction Swap.
Agreed - I said it before:
Though I still say, IF alliance change, then Done RIGHT!

And by that I don't mean some token that pops your character to a new alliance, I do indeed mean a whole guild-DLC sized questline with an cloak and dagger (Or since this is ESO, "hood and dagger", perhaps?) spycraft flavor and a "faction loyalty called in question" plot, where you get to make a big choice in the middle - stay loyal to your alliance and prove yourself, or turn your back on them and defect to greener pastures elsewhere...

With the second half (or two thirds, or whatever) of the questline being different depending on your choice - either uncovering the one who actually framed you, mobilize your old and trusted allies to gather support and track down the true conspiracy while dodging the agents sent to bring you in; or preparing your escape, dodging the agents sent to arrest you, courting your desired new friends while grabbing some juicy secrets on the way out to sweeten the deal, etc.

Such a story could have a neutral city as "spycraft" focal point (like vienna during the cold war, where spies and agents often went to spy hard between the two sides - for ESO it could be some place between the alliances, a former imperial town declared "free city" after the fall of the empire in northern nibenay, eastern colovia or western skyrim, perhaps, or even an post-anchorite-war isle of stirk...), but otherwise take you all over the old faction regions, possibly revisiting a few one-time-only maps with new mobs... and perhaps even meeting a few familiar faces (come on, wouldn't you love to slam a porticullis shut into Razum-dars face as you hop on a boat bound to Morrowind with thre adorable Naryu? ;) )

Such a questline could even have special titles depending on what you choose... "[original faction] Loyalist" or "[original faction] Defector"... obviously it would be a one-time only event, thus making serial defectors that change alliance depending on which one is currently top in cyrodil that some people always fear when this topic comes up an impossibility.

And it also might have drawbacks for PvP, like... reduced AP gain for several months, since noone fully trusts a traitor... or maybe having to re-earn all the AP up to your current rank before you start progressing again, representing your efforts to convince your new allies of your trustworthyness... and definitely increased AP rewards if a member of your original faction takes you down, because...
    Star_wars_traitor_gif_by_mrarcadium-daafqoh.gif
    :)
(there could even be a daily "hunt traitor" mission, and defectors from your PvP-characters alliance in cyrodil getting an visual clue while that mission is active...)

Also, this could be a option to add new factions to PvP.
And yes, those could be "crown store unlocks"...
Like... have options to not just defect to one of the other two alliances, but also "go rogue" and join a new "Outlaw" faction (...black color and jolly roger flag, perhaps? Would be hostile to -every- other faction in cyrodil, and spawn at some new but unsecured base, thus very susceptible to enemy raids - trials of being an outlaw in the face of organized armies); or an "Imperial Remnant" faction (purple imperial diamond flag, spawning in some ill-secured legion base somewhere, possibly at the nibenay border, and also fighting everyone else, but turning all the "imperial" NPCs in cyrodil non-hostile?), or a "neutral" faction that is "yellow" to everyone (green flag and incapable of capturing locations, spawning at various random merchant camps and such...)
Might be too complicated, but would still be interesting!
    Steel-256 wrote: »

Yes. They are, for some things. But that's what we have to live with.
(I still say namechanges and outfit slots should be permanently reduced to half price!)
    Steel-256 wrote: »
    6.) PVP...
First - you gotta count the battlegrounds too. And even the duelling options.
Second... they learned from the IC sales (or lack thereof), so... don't expect them to spend much on PvPlayers that complain more then they pay. But sooner or later, I am certain they will do something...

But it certainly will NOT be "open world PvP", since they have a -strict- policy of not mixing PvP into PvE regions... (see the once planned and then canned PvP part of the justice system)
    Steel-256 wrote: »
    7.) World guild trader.
Could come - with limitations. Personally I would wish for a marketplace in aome daedric demiplane where -every- guild trader in the world is mirrored... and possibly access to that being a perk for a future "merchants guild"...
    See: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/387560/additional-guild-ideas-mk-ii ;)

Wouldn't care about that, but... I guess some do...
Personally i want them to hide more numbers, not show more. But that's me. I prefer immersion over min/maxxing...
    Steel-256 wrote: »
9.) Would like to see some in game pop up events all across the world at random locations.
    You mean, daedric fissues??? :p;)

There is a reason they don't do that in older regions, so that people can quest through the story, and not be squished flat by some dragon dropping on their head unannounced.

They -do- have world bosses and events (dolmen, geysers) that take a group (unless you are good) but can be avoided, and they do have stuff that drops in your path, but can be soloed. And even the dragons land in seperate areas that people can go around (until enough peeps show up to make it a fair fight) The wandering world bosses in IC... were not that well recieved, though that may have been more an IC thing...

Though I am sure they will come up with something for the next bunch of expansion regions. I mean... we had Geysers in Summerset, Dragons in Elsweyr... there certainly will be soemthing, sometime.

    Steel-256 wrote: »
13.) Something for RP that would be interesting would be the ability to purchase NPC's for your homes/guild halls...
    Agreed, as I once posted:
It would make sense for larger homes to come with special "NPC servant slots"... not to place your NPC servants as immobile furniture, but to have them a completely new category, able to move around your home, with varying animations... so, a cleaning servant might sweep floors (like some we can see in inns for example), a cook servant may move from one kitchen table to the other and do the "cooking" animation, a guard servant might patrol, a bard servant might sing for a while, then stop to get a drink, then sing some more, a dancing girl servant might dance, then stop to rest and idle a bit, then dance some more... etc.
There even could be special classes of homestead NPCs... for those who really want an NPC waifu? :p;) (or children who greet their parent when they come home from their life of adventure?)

It would open up a entirely new range of things to sell in the crown store for ZOS, servant NPCs in varying configurations (like, the cleaning servant could come in every race, from breton serf to argonian maid... and possibly even in several appearance "ranks", from lowly barmaid in threadbare apron to fancy noble servants in silk livery...)

The possibilities for servant customization are endless as well, could be as little or as much as ZOS wants to code for us to spend crowns on... we could have a whole "servant customization" tab, where we could slot different hairstyles, makeup, outfits and professions (for the animations they will follow while moving around our homes - like, guard servant, cleaning servant, etc. - there could even be advanced professions as upgrades with limited interactions, like the basic maid just cleans and ignored the player, but the advanced maid profession would also stop their cleaning and bow to their "master" when the player character passes them in the hallways, etc.)

They could even make the basic servant purchasable (well, hire-able, unless you are one of those telvanni slaver scum!) with gold, in varying regions (hire a dunmer dancing girl from a random selection in ebonheart, or an argonian maid in stormhold, or a nord guard in windhelm, etc.) or attainable from quests or achievements (save the breton damsel in distress, gain an ever faithful servant? Purchase a manor and find it comes with a butler?) and then just sell the customization options in the crown store for those who want to have their servants personalized (and let's be honest, we all would want that, yes?)

...and they could of course sell extra servant slots in the crown store... they could also sell special servants in the crown store, like... hire the normal nord guard in-game with gold, but you can also buy the titanborn amazon guard in the crown store, hire the normal maid in-game with gold, but you can also buy the lusty arginian version in the crown store, etc.

It would be like the whole mount and outfit system bundled into one for sales, all over again!
    Steel-256 wrote: »

    Agreed.
End all "Bind on Pickup" for items (keep it for login and levelup rewards), let people sell all that stuff.
    Steel-256 wrote: »
    15.) Vampires/Werewolfves.
Vampire looks are fine. They could use some upgrading in their effects, but... I said this before:
Yeah, there is a lot that could and perhaps should be done to revamp those bloodsucking fiends!

Foremost is the justice system interactions... Necromancing is illegal so we have a mechanic for this... it would only make sense is simply being a vampire would also get the guards riled up, yes? So, make all vampire skills a "criminal act" and also add a "vampire detection chance" per stage, say, 20% at 1, 40% at 2, 80% at 3 and auto at 4, with a "kill on sight" bounty if they find out you're a bloodsucking fiend as the guards come after you with stake and torch, cannot use vendors who would just screech and cower in fear at the "monster" (remember how people reacted to vampires in those rivenspire questings!), etc...
...but also add a "masquerade" skill to toggle that will lower your appearance and thus detection chance by one stage while active - at the cost of one skill slot (meaning, zero chance and completely mortal looking when using that one at stage 1) - just like Count Verandis Ravenwatch obviously is using during the first meeting in Shornhelm!

And also, I would love to see a lot more of the good old vampire clichés brought into ESO vampirism, to make these characters more feel like the classics rather then "just another PC with an extra skill line"...

I would love to see vampires also have a chance of auto-attacking innocents when on stage four. Just a "overwhelming bloodthirst" thing if blood-starved... makes sense, yes? Or perhaps add a "stage five" where this happens, as sign that your vampire has their blood thirst drow for too long and is actually starving now, perhaps with some hefty penalties as well to make it impossible for people to just "park their vampire at S-4" to gain the game benefits without some effort to keep them there or risk sliding into the "bad end" stage...

I would love to see some reason for vampires to shy away from "running water" - it could be a annoyingly reduced swimming speed, or a steady, massive magica drain while swimming... hey, it IS a classic, is it not?

I would love to see a "charm" skill or passive, to allow them to nibble at civilians without it being all crime-ish (as long as noone else sees it, of course). That one -could- also be useful as CC in combat to momentarily daze opponents (although, in most myths this "dominating gaze" only really works if the victim looks deep into the vampires eyes, not exactly something combat-useful...)

I would love to see the vampire feeding to not just -stun- but also damage! In days of blade of woe, it could at least suck away half their victims HP, right? Also, while talking about that... is it not annoying that those two are on the same trigger, and sometimes you use the wrong one if the mob you target moves half a step at the wrong time? Why not combine them both into a "Bite of Woe" that counts for both feedings and assassinations?

I would love to see player vampires use the same skills like common bloodfiends! That shadowy teleport! Definitely should be added to their arsenal, wouldn't you think? Also, bloodfiends... why are those lowly creatures attacking their vampiric superiors? Should they not know their place and realize that this is not a meal, but another undead, and maybe all be "yellow" non-aggro towards player vamps?

I would love to see vampires get a special mount that is -only- useable by characters that are vampires, with some sort of "bat swarm transformation" visuals...

I would love to see vampires stop geting food buff benefits... I mean, should they not be incapable of those, yet get "recently fed" buffs instead? And possibly have the option of making special "vampire" drink recipes with -actual blood- as part of the recipe that gives vampires only special buffs?

I would love to see vampires get a way to store blood in alchemically treated vials for "later use" when feeding at "full" (to sip later for better stage control, or to use in the aforementioned recipes)?

I would love to see vampires have an "vampire sanctuary" where they can gather and sociualize with other vampy players, have vampire-themed gear & furniture vendors, and vampire-themed crafting stations, vampire-themed daily quests (like, "sneak into this nobles home and put the bite towards their nubile daughter to teach them not to mess with the rulers of the night..." or "go into that dwelve and ambush the vampire hunter somewhere in it" or "bring this gift to the vampire lord that lives in this place..." - randomly selected and all over the maps!) and pomme-se-sang NPCs to snack on... they -could- redo and expand the map for the initiation quest for that one, could they not?

Werewolves -could- use some looks adjustment in untransformed form. The cliché classics like unibrow or extra-hirsute body perhaps... maybe yellow eyes... etc.

    Would be neat.
Especially if the weather had effects... like, reduced fire damage during rain, but increased ice damage, and vica versea under the burning desert sun... cold DoT when swimming in winter regions, and reduced stamina recovery in hot regions... reduced range for ranged attacks during bad visibility weather, or reduced movement speed when rain is turning the swam to mud... that sort of thing.

It will never happen - that way. The world is not set up for it.

What -could- happen were "floating" mounts (same mechanic like any other, just with a "floating" animation, like broomsticks, carpets, whatever...) and "flying mounts" not as mounts, but as "free trip to wayshrine" option (Like: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/433317/suggestion-flying-mount-solution/p1 ).

    Eh. Maybe.
I don't really see much of a gain with that compared to other "thievery" options...

21.) Maybe introduce a Mayor/Governor system for Cities and towns.
Nah, that is not a player activity. Would be lore-iffy if funny player names were "governor" of in-world places...
Instead give us a "guildhall" system! But I said that as well before:
I could totally see that for guilds...

...have oblivion pocket planes of varying size, that first have to be conquered by the guild at varying difficulty (like, small planes might be public dungeon level, and could be soloed; medium ones might be geared for a full group of four with tank and healer like a proper veteran dungeon; and large planes might prove too difficult for anyone but a full raid group - so large guilds can conquer the large planes, and tiny guilds will have to make do with small ones)...

...have those planes then be build-able on; letting the guildmaster (and possibly officers, as the guildowner sets up in permissions) select which structures go where and in what style, planting the foundations... and then let the guildmembers contribute resources (loads of common resources, nothing rare, and no matter what level, so that anyone can contribute - like, say, 3000 metal ingots, or 2500 sanded wood or 5000 "ta" runes; stuff like that which enyone can collect and contribute without feeling having to choose between their own crafting needs and the guilds...); so any guild can build their "ideal guild city" on that plane, in whatever style they want, in whatever configuration they want; some will be small "guild villages", others might be small cities with everything...

...and then let people contribute furniture to the guild for decorating the whole place, again guild can set permissions who can move what (should only be allowed for those who you know won't mess things up!); possibly even including NPC servants to liven up the place a little... those could be customizable as well, either full outfit system, or just a few preset faces and whatever costumes the guildmaster has access to...

...and finally, allow guilds to set their planes as "PvP enabled", allowing sieges by rival guilds; that would mean the NPCs might get a combat setup option, and there could be special furniture like doors, traps and whatever... of course, only those who set their hall as attackable can attack others, and it should only be for "bragging rights", no stealing other guilds stuff... but still, I could see how it would be fun to try and design a well defensible guildhall... (and then give all your guild purpose to collect all the stuff you need for it, like gear pieces to give your guard NPCs and resources for your walls, traps and whatnot...)

22.) Maybe have the Kings/Queens of the faction areas make in game appearances...
They do already in the story, and might do again in different story intros.
But not at random, that only happens during peacetime, and if tamriel was like that... we would have nothing to quest for!

    1. You are not going to outrun your mount very long so not a worth point. Also, Mount leveling will not change. Get used to it or pay for instance leveling. Simple fact.
    2. Yea, it can mess up the uninitiated but I doubt this will change either.
    3. The Twitch crates are free. Do not like them then do not watch Twitch for them. Smart solution. Why didn't I think of that.
    4. Faction Swap is not going to happen. Zos said they have heard us and still have zero interest in offering this. This is well known by those who have paid attention to Twitch.
    5. Crown Store prices are what the market supports. If the market did not support those prices Zos would lower them. Vote with your wallet if you do not like the prices. Such a simple solution.
    6. Yes, Zos has only added limited PvP options but saying BGs do not count is absurd. Bedsides PvE pays better than PvP. Polls have even shown since this game launched that the player base is more interested in PvE.
    7. World Guild Trader is not going to happen. Anyone who paid attention to Zos before this game launched knows their reasoning why we have the current system and why it is so doubtful this will change.
    8. OP even says they know how we can save group data yet that is not good enough. Well, there are addons for that as well and that is as good as it is going to get so maybe deal with it.

I stopped there because much of the things are just not going to change and other things like the parse info at the end of a dungeon run are just petty differences between what we already have. I hope OP does not get worked up about these things because I really doubt there will be much change and they really did not provide sound reasoning for change.
