Admin changed my password? Zos were you hacked?

Why else would an admin change my (and others) password? I rotate my passwords randomly on my own but in the years I've played have never HAD one changed. Have our accounts been compromised? Just the forums or game too? Shouldn't this be something we should know?

    I think it was a glitch as I was able to log into my website account without issue. However, it is best to choose a different password. Do not mess around.

    This just happened to me too.

    Would be nice if we could get a response explaining why this occurred.

    Had the same issue, now I would really like to have an answer of ZOS, if someone hacked my account, or anything else that would lead to that I want to know that.

    Same happened to me, however when I changed my password, I still needed to use my original password to logon.

    They probably did an account soft-reset or something similiar

    It would be unusual for such a change to be made without an announcement ahead of time or a follow up. Certainly unusual from a professional standpoint.

    My PW has been the same for all of ESO since 2014. When I changed it on the website it changed for forums and game.

    I had the same issue. An aministrator changing my private password? :o
    Really? With such a weird message, I also thought my account was hacked.

    btw: today's news say Disney+ was hacked and thousands of accounts were stolen...

    Yes, the same happened to me. I had no choice but to change my password. I do have some security concerns. Can anyone provide more information please? Thanks.

    Since Forum Account and the player ID are connected with each other, someone could possibly used that connection to get data. Names, even home address (if you gave the correct one) and not so important, but also not nice access to your game account.
