Shorter Dlc Dungeons?

    Yes
Yes, please. It seems every time I queue for a random dungeon I get stuck with a DLC one (usually White Gold Tower but a few weeks ago I got CoS multiple times in one night) and although I'm fine with those dungeons I'd like 1. an eso+ opt out and 2. some DLC dungeons that are a bit shorter in length but still harder than regular dungeons. I don't always have time for longer dungeons, especially in PUGs, so variety is a good thing.

I like the DLC dungeons as they are, especially the two Imperial City dungeons. I like the story and atmosphere and exploring them. :) I don’t mind shorter dungeons, but I like there to be more to them than only the boss fights.

    Nope.

I would like all dungeons to be like DLC, I hate the concept of running in, taking the loot and running out.
    Not fun at all.

But I want to see less toxicity in the community, and people to decide if they want something hard, because it was their choice- and their choice to have fun that way.

    Well I mean.

If you base it on these forums, then everyone last patch started DPSing at around 80K and burned every single encounter in the game. With no mechanics even appearing, even in DLC dungeons. So in theory, nothing needs to be "fixed"

The only thing needing ‘fixing’ is players attitude. Either play to get better or don’t que for random with dlc access.

This game teaches little and when anything puts up a fight it becomes a cry for nerfs or single player only etc....

Better players being berated for being better is sooooo last year.

Ps I play a melee Templar with sweeps and a 4 button rotation

I'm pretty happy with the dlc dungeon length, though some could use less trash mobs between bosses.

A couple of mobs/mini bosses is good, but some have too much trash (I'm looking at you maarselok)

shorter like fewer and lair style add pulls? sure

shorter like made to be shorter with shorter fights and fewer bosses? nope

frost vault is the ideal length dungeon, with ideal boss fight difficulties and difficulty ramp ups (if you count hardmode as the real last boss).

I think DLC dungeons should be taken out of Group Finder though for the daily random dungeons, and especially if your character isn't at CP level yet

I really like the DLC dungeons so I did not want to say yes, lest I give the impression that I don't like the DLC dungeons, but I wouldn't mind some "shorter" or "easier" new dungeons to give some variety for leveling alts and those of us who help new players. Not at the expense of getting "DLC" dungeons but in addition to.

I was in LoM in normal, to farm my Z'en gear, and halfway through some of us just kind of said "gee this dungeon is long." Not HARD, and actually I really like that dungeon, but sometimes you only have 15 minutes to run something and it would be nice to have other options besides the "oldies but goodies."

Plus, shouldn't Maj al-Ragath and Glirion the Redbeard get some new content? Why should Urgalarg get all the fun?

I think a mixture of both would be nice.

They normally always release 2 dungeon's at a time, so I would say have one long and the other short.

This depends way too much on the group's dps and skipping.
I think 30 minutes are reasonable.

So I think its hard to say "shorter" or "longer", since time run through one varies quite a bit with randoms.

cp dungeons should have a min. cp requirement or be taken out of the random queue

and the lair dungeon is WAY too long - its fun the first time but not if you have to farm it for 50 times

OR make 2 versions of a dungeon - the same way guild wars does it, have one easier, longer, story version of the dungeon and then a faster grind version

@Nemesis7884 I assume you mean DLC dungeons should have a minimum CP requirement or be taken out of the random queue.

All vet DLC dungeons have a CP requirement and they do not get added to what is available for a random queue until the player meets that requirement. Pretty sure Zos made the adjustment to the requirements sometimes last year. It has been awhile.

If you are in a social guild with a new player leveling up their first character ask then what dungeons are locked when they hit lvl 50 (CP 10). Pretty sure they can even see what CP levels each get unlocked at that point. We cannot see that after we pass that threshold.
    Really, idk

The boss fights are epic in many cases- 10/10 - but they could definitely lose a trash pull here and there.

They really add nothing to what are otherwise great dungeons.

    Please not.

We already have enough dungeons where you sneeze and you're done. These dungeons feel more like a chore than actually playing the game (most groups will burn through the dungeon anyway, so there is no real gameplay).

    I like a balance.

Some dungeons definitely feel/are longer than others and often the sense of longness comes from lots of repetition rather than the actual number of encounters

Selene’s Web - long, boring, zero fun
Fang Lair - long, I feel I have run for bloody ages by the time I get to the final boss
CoA2 - very long, just very, very long

Some seemed long, but then didn’t as I got used to them

White Gold Tower - so many levels... yet now seems very short

The new ones are tending to be longer because they are filled with tedious chaff (LoM, where there is a whole middle section that serves no purpose)

I would like a balance. I don’t mind a dungeon being very short or very long if the boss fights are interesting and challenging.

I guess the real thing for me is when I’m asked to join a group going to a particular dungeon I don’t want my first thought to be “that’s going to take a long time” instead of “that’s going to be a real challenge”.

Not every dungeon needs to be finished in 5-10 minutes...

Would you like dlc dungeons that dont take as long to complete? I feel like the newer dungeons we have been getting are all on the longer side as far as time to complete. Around like 35-40 mins in my experience. I would like some dungeons that run like 15-20 mins to complete.

Note that shorter doesnt have to equal easier.

Yeah I think we need a mix. I very much enjoy the longer dungeons, but sometimes you prefer a shorter, get in get out kind of experience.

Last night I queued for vet Lair of Maarselok, got a pug group of randoms... one of them goes, "nah sorry I am not sticking around for a 45 min dungeon" and leaves... The 3 of us left did it in 25 mins (no healer), lol.

    No.

The newer dungeons should hold better rewards, though. I like how they've been adding Motifs to the DLC dungeons so that's always a good means to earn some quick cash in the guild store.

If they were all Fungal Grotto style, people would wonder why they are paying for them.

I think one should be large, the other should be medium sized.

Ultimately, DLC dungeons on normal are fairly quick unless your stuck with muppets.

I just had this conversation with my buds last night. After 5 years we are just tired of being almost forced to do dungeons for various reasons. Then add on the pointless long dungeons, it’s draining. 20 minutes is the exact time we settled on. New players and casual players would still net 30+ minutes out of the content.

We would even be happy with 1 boss group fight “caves” that have crazy HP and raid style mechanics that make killing the 1 boss take 15 minutes or more. Kinda want this for overland content as well, like the dragons, but even better.
