I never used Steam and have the same problem not being able to log in or having huge lag and disconnects, so it is definitely NOT a Steam issue.

However, I would be very interested to see if the issue is disproportionately affecting players who have been around for years...

That might be a case of reporting bias. My main guild which mainly newcomers like me (ie, people who has been playing under a year) and none of us can log in but so far I'm the only one who has reported anything on the forum.

What I'd give to be able to join a trial and not have to give up due to issues with the server...

At least usually it's just endless unplayable instances. Now I can't even sign in.

I bought on steam as i'm sure many did. Tried manually logging in using the eso64 exe too, nothing works, you just get pointed right back at signing in from Steam. So s.o.o.l on all fronts it would seem!

Same here as well. No login through steam, but using eso launcher I can login fine.

Free ESO+ and PTS launch of new chapter content was always going to put a strain on the system

For some reason PC EU performance is always shockingly bad during PTS testing, it’s almost as if a large chunk of bandwidth or processing power had been removed to aid the PTS server.

Another free play offer only adds to the problems as there will probably be twice as many DLC dungeon instances as non-subscribers leap in to snaffle up the shinies.

I am getting a good ping of 180 on EU servers. I am on a PC client in Central US time zone.

Came back to this game after a few years out due to the shocking server performance and constant bs from Zenimax, last nights patch notes prove they don't have a clue or won't fix the problem. Buffing non combat pets ? Nerf skills which no one uses ? Change old content which we have already spent years grinding. I was enjoying the last weeks in isolation leveling my Necromancer and I did enjoy myself in the latest dlc. But wow hitting bg's and cyrodil after all this time away reminded me just how bad the game servers are in this game.

Without server stability there is no ESO. Zenimax you might as well just delete pvp from this game and let the role players bank roll your game.

So folk think this due to the free ESO+ week? possible, but as a paying ESO+ member i can honestly say that to bring in this week severely makes me think twice about whether as an existing customer the 3 month rolling sub i'm going to pay will be worth while when you take downtime into account. So you want to encourage people to get ESO+? then make the game stable during these events with the right infrastructure to cope with it. Not RAT OFF the existing customers who bought into this.. not to mention crown spends that do not carry over to your alts in terms of riding skills/bag space etc.

Talk about one big huge attempt to grab yet more money.. well at the other end of this is your paying customers on ESO+ the people already on it, getting nothing but poor service due to your grab more money promotions.

Consider that please.. because customers do end up voting with their feet!

Ping spikes up to 999+ in dungeons, noteably Scalecaller Peak and Falkreath Hold. People get random disconnects.

It is PC EU for a reason.
"EU" also stands for Errors Unlimited
