shoutout to Lady of Scrolls youtube with awesome lore videos on the redguard (others have videos too)
I really like the redguard, probably my second favorite race now (or at least tied for second) I like the lore of the various waves and the overall lore of them pretty much resisting and winning every war / invasion that happened, they even 1vX the aldmeri dominion of the 4th era after the empire crumbled.
I also like their preference for small elite mobile sword singer / knightly orders devoted to combat and war rather then a conscript standing army, as its both interesting and how they have effectively held off invasion and continued to fight.
I don't much care for the "oh don't kill undead" thing, but that is more specific to their own dead, rather then undead as a whole, so whatever.
but there preference for skilled martial, tactical, and mental prowess and disdain for illusion and "cheesy" magic and tactics (my words not theirs) really spoke to me. where as imperials and Bretons are very classic and boring, and nords while Viking are often portrayed as brutish drunk "argggg lets go die wahhhhh!" warriors, redguards seem slightly based more on Japanese combat style and mastery. preferring the style of "if your going to be a swordsman, devote yourself to it and be the best."
I also love classic fantasy deserts, as they invoke a very warm and adventurous nature to them.
