Hey , that would be basically ''poison whip'' :P and I would love it.
Could even be a 12m gap closer, nothing too absurd, but still helps DK's closing up and not letting go of the target.

It's good they are upping the DoT damage from the previous level, which will make them slightly better than they were in U22 (for example, something that did 10,000 DoT damage in U22 got upped to 13,770 in U23 then with initial 5.2 down to 8,630 and upcoming will bring it to 10,350). However, considering that means they will do a tiny sliver more than in U22, they still haven't addressed the astronomical cost increase of it.

Pretty sure its gonna shine in melee builds...doesn't say anywhere that it is ranged only or loses strength if used close up so yea.....it'll be fine.

ironic - magdk's that usually carry destro staves get up close and personal in melee range to use the iconic whip. meanwhile, stamina dk's that usually carry melee weapons like swords/mauls have a ranged rock throwing ability.
it begs the question: is anyone awake up there? why aren't the magdk's throwing molten fire and stamdk's using poison whips.

Imo it's a good change but to be fair, DK's searing heat passive seems wasted.
They could have directly increased all melee dot by 33% as per standardisation and rework searing heat passive to give an execute flavor to DK and more identity.
How about instead of an execute a reverse execute doing more damage the higher the enemies health this idea fits better to the attrition style and flavor of a dk wearing the opponent down. Leave the execute to sorcs and nightblades I’ll take my execute from bloodthirsty jewelry.

just been on pts testing a bit, just wanna say, it may seem like a buff, but it really is just worse than on live.
Volatile's dot component is stronger than engulfing flame and ember (with the initial hit) dps wise if used on CD even if it should get a 20% increase next patch.
And banner is apparently bugged and not affected by searing heat

Also the 2s added duration to Dot's coupled with the extra 2s from the passive further takes some strength away from the dot. 12s on live vs 14s dura on pts and it's currently still 30% weaker than on live and also costs much more. There is also something weird about combustion, but i am gonna do some more testing later.
This should be an ability that both mag and stam get but as an ultimate and replaces leap and keeps the range of leap and the damage. Because it looks Cool AF. I've wanted it since they firsted added it in DSA. We'll keep our dragon flair because wings, it can have a stam morph too but it shouldn't be poison, stamdks need that awful green crap taken away and given FIRE but scaling as physical not elemental.

It looks nice when used once. But now imagine spamming it. That would just look silly especially if You would stand like 2 meters away from enemy.

Passive like the one You've described already exists on sorc.
It's not looking bad and stonefist might actually be okay now, but no matter how good that skill can be i refuse to be seen throwing turds at people. Also, even if it gets a visual rework, it still has nothing to do with the dragonknights theme, it'd be better to just get rid of it completely and add something that fits in
