From the notes:
In a future patch during this PTS cycle, we will be increasing the total damage of any Damage over Time abilities that were adjusted in PTS v5.2.0 by approximately 20%

and..
Combustion: This passive no longer has a cooldown in order to help the Dragonknight sustain itself, since it doesn’t have a class-based dedicated resource ability such as Dark Exchange or Siphoning Strikes.

Especially interesting since Searing Strike and morphs gives a guaranteed status effect now.

also..
Searing Heat: Increased the damage bonus to 33% from 10% to help distinguish the Dragonknight’s Damage over Time abilities as superior to others.

On top of the +20% that all dots will be getting!

Seems like DK might be looking okay after all.

    Very true, but the animation though. Even if the skill is useful, or even BIS, I don't wanna be a stamDK that throw turd at my enemies.

    Well its definitely a step in the right direction. My only complain right now is that stonefist still has that very ugly animation. I'll be brutally honest Its probably the worst looking ability on the entire game for me. I know there are like 2 people left on the planet that enjoy the looks of this ability however Dks always had very cool and iconic abilities like wings, claws, leap, spiked armor etc. So this looks like a downgrade you know...

    I would very much appreciate a new animation. Heck, I would appreciate if they made it a melee ability. ranged Dk builds already have the bow poison abilities available while melee poison builds do not have a spammable of any sorts. It would be really damn cool to see a poison spammable , preferably one thats melee instead.

    But hey, thats probably the opinion of the vast majority , so who cares, right?

    So will stamDks be using stonefist over dizzying swing now? I can't think of a better way to make people regret asking for a class spammable.

    DK changes im very happy with. It's just a shame we cant test the depth of these changes without the game-wide DoT adjustments on the PTS

    Pretty sure its gonna shine in melee builds...doesn't say anywhere that it is ranged only or loses strength if used close up so yea.....it'll be fine.

    Imo it's a good change but to be fair, DK's searing heat passive seems wasted.
    They could have directly increased all melee dot by 33% as per standardisation and rework searing heat passive to give an execute flavor to DK and more identity.

    If I understood correctly notes said they're looking forward to improve Stonefist's visual for a future patch cause they don't have enough time for this cycle.

    Sure whatever, my point was that with all ZOS standardisation and audit talks, what they've done right now is not coherent, even though it's welcoming compared to the first patch notes. Searing heat is wasted imo and could be reworked, it was just a suggestion.

    ironic - magdk's that usually carry destro staves get up close and personal in melee range to use the iconic whip. meanwhile, stamina dk's that usually carry melee weapons like swords/mauls have a ranged rock throwing ability.

    it begs the question: is anyone awake up there? why aren't the magdk's throwing molten fire and stamdk's using poison whips.

    Solid changes, they are definitely going in the right direction. DKs having the strongest DOTs will strengthen class identity. Stone fist also looks viable now, but yeah, the animations is... urgh.

    Imma still use dizzy in pvp until the visual rework of stonefist. Overall though it's looking good for dks. Better sustain passive. Our dots are intact. I'm good with these change.

    Hey , that would be basically ''poison whip'' :P and I would love it.

    Could even be a 12m gap closer, nothing too absurd, but still helps DK's closing up and not letting go of the target.

    I hear ya I was just throwing out a suggestion as well. I didn’t mean my comment earlier to sound snarky. Execute would be nice but when you look at execute window being typically 25% or less a reverse execute would be a lot stronger and paired with blood thirsty you only have typically a 25% gap between end of reverse execute and execute.

    just been on pts testing a bit, just wanna say, it may seem like a buff, but it really is just worse than on live.
    Volatile's dot component is stronger than engulfing flame and ember (with the initial hit) dps wise if used on CD even if it should get a 20% increase next patch.
    And banner is apparently bugged and not affected by searing heat
    Gonna make a post later
    Also the 2s added duration to Dot's coupled with the extra 2s from the passive further takes some strength away from the dot. 12s on live vs 14s dura on pts and it's currently still 30% weaker than on live and also costs much more. There is also something weird about combustion, but i am gonna do some more testing later.

    Yes it looks okay

    12 second DoTs were perfect, 14 seconds are too long.

    6k AoE DoT cost is still laughable to say the least

    The sustain is welcome but I will still have to slot spell symmetry at this rate.

    I can't test the buffed DoTs until they drop so this week will be more waiting.

    But hey, step in the right direction, you get part of my approval :wink:

    I want to say yes... but I don't remember; can you test and let me know :3; if not I will test when I get home, I know it can if you use force pulse/elemental weapon, but for skills it's a bit muddier in my head and I can't remember.
