In a future patch during this PTS cycle, we will be increasing the total damage of any Damage over Time abilities that were adjusted in PTS v5.2.0 by approximately 20%
Combustion: This passive no longer has a cooldown in order to help the Dragonknight sustain itself, since it doesn’t have a class-based dedicated resource ability such as Dark Exchange or Siphoning Strikes.
Searing Heat: Increased the damage bonus to 33% from 10% to help distinguish the Dragonknight’s Damage over Time abilities as superior to others.

I would very much appreciate a new animation. Heck, I would appreciate if they made it a melee ability. ranged Dk builds already have the bow poison abilities available while melee poison builds do not have a spammable of any sorts. It would be really damn cool to see a poison spammable , preferably one thats melee instead.

That's why magDKs weren't using it.
Imo it's a good change but to be fair, DK's searing heat passive seems wasted.
They could have directly increased all melee dot by 33% as per standardisation and rework searing heat passive to give an execute flavor to DK and more identity.

How about instead of an execute a reverse execute doing more damage the higher the enemies health this idea fits better to the attrition style and flavor of a dk wearing the opponent down. Leave the execute to sorcs and nightblades I’ll take my execute from bloodthirsty jewelry.

Sure whatever, my point was that with all ZOS standardisation and audit talks, what they've done right now is not coherent, even though it's welcoming compared to the first patch notes. Searing heat is wasted imo and could be reworked, it was just a suggestion.
