ESO Deities Poll Competition - FEEDBACK

Well everyone, it was an epic journey, but at the end of it all, despite overcoming all the other original fighters, Akatosh was struck down in the secret final boss round by Lore-god Supreme, Lawrence Schick.

As always, thanks to everyone who participated; it was a blast running this, despite my continued staying-on-schedule-related incompetence. I'd love to hear feedback from you guys - what you liked, what you didn't like, what you'd like to see in the future, etc. - so I can implement it in any future forum competitions. Just like last time, I'd also like to put out there that this thread isn't intended for gloating and/or sour grapes about the fight outcomes; this is just to get feedback for the future.

I know you'll probably get flack for having a secret final boss round, but I really enjoy your character polls. In fact, they're probably some of the better polls I've seen on the forum.

Anyway, fun subjects and a welcome respite from the usual nerf threads we see.

Enjoyed every poll on the way and your Ring-Mastership was terrific.
Poll even came with educational linkies, speed was decent. Looking forward to the next fight!

Favorite Head of State. Not just the 3 alliance leaders, include the Mane and whatever Argonians have.

Yes I will be voting for Bosmer King Camoran over anyone else.

Could do a short one on favorite Undaunted member.

If you have the time to research, maybe best tavern? Or a series of “would you rather eat” polls featuring some of Tamriel’s “finest” recipes and their in game ingredients. (Spiders eggs in Witches Brew??)

Mh, possible ideas for the next competitions?

I am thinking about a "Kings and Queens" Battle like @max_only already suggested. That would hopefully include people like the Mane, the Wilderqueen, the Silvenar etc. Not just people with the Title King/Queen. Maybe even the Jester Kings/Queen?😆

Another idea could be favorite evil character. By this I mean the bad guys from each zone like Molag Bal, Magistrix Vox, Baron Montclair, Faolchu and the Dark Mane maybe.
I like the first one better tho, most probably don't even remember the evil guys.😆

LOVE the competition! Really, any and all feedback should not overshadow the fact that this has been so much fun! Appreciate your efforts in running it and I enjoy participating in it.

• I like the fact that we aren't given an underlying reason as to "why" we should be voting. Reading people's reasons are half the fun.
• I feel that the deities were perfectly suited to this game. I did struggle a little with what felt to me as a fast turnaround for some of the voting. This is because unlike the first game, I am not a lore master (in fact most of my experience with the Elder Scrolls world comes from this game) and so often I had to look up one or both deities and read through the lore to decide. I did not feel right about voting if I wasn't informed, so sometimes when I was busy I didn't have time to do my "research" and missed a vote.
• Related to this, for the first game, I didn't like the super secret boss as much because I felt very invested in my votes. In the second game, where I had less of a direct affinity to many of my voting choices, I truly enjoyed the super secret boss fight. Intentional or not, I think the potential underlying commentary on how much we as humans influence or maybe even create our supernatural beliefs was a phenomenal twist. However what I conclude from this is that the potential "issue" with the secret boss fight is that the more invested you are in the progress of the game, the more it feels as if the rest of the game didn't matter if the secret boss wins. I think this feeling could be mitigated to increase the enjoyment for all with a wrap up summary/post which has not only the final winner but also a list of the winners per round so we all can see how each contestant climbed the ladder and get our gloating in that way: "I can't BELIEVE Lorkhan edged out Sotha Sil... he'll prevail next time!"

I will come back if I think of any good themes for another competition but I like the ideas max_only suggested of "best tavern" or "which would you eat"? The first could encourage us to go find the locations in the game world, and the second just seems fun. There are other things that could be done with this like best town, best quest involving a difficult choice, best dungeons, etc.

This was the most enjoyable thing on the forums in a long time, but I wish the lower rounds would have lasted longer. I’m on the forums multiple times daily from work and there were several that I missed. I’d venture that most people are on here far less than I am and that the rapid turnaround of threads kept participation low for some of them.

First, thank you!

Second - the lower rounds actually lasted a lot longer than they did for the Recurring Characters Competition; the lower rounds for that only lasted a day, but due to the feedback from that one, the lower rounds for this lasted for three days, albeit involved more than two fighters to winnow the field down a bit quicker.
