Terrible idiotic change literally no one asked for, same old same old for ZOS

There were people that asked for this for immersion reasons. They were soundly shouted down every time they mentioned it in the forums.

ZOS probably discovered that hardly anyone was upgrading the stamina perk on their horses & thought "we''ll get these hamsters back in their wheels!" I always priorities Speed upgrades first, then inventory & hardly ever bothered with stam upgrades... THANKS ZOS !@#$

In a patch full of bad decisions, I just want to highlight this gem.

"Like on-foot sprint, mounts will now stop sprinting when their Stamina is fully drained. However, we’ve decreased the Stamina cost of mounted sprint and greatly increased both base Stamina and base Recovery for mounts."

I am just tired of all of this. Just really tired.

It was always kind of stupid how you could keep sprinting after you ran out of stamina. So I'm not sure why so many people believe this is a stupid change. I always assumed it was a bug anyway.

No, it's not. End of talk.

Would've just made it so more Stamina equals more hits you can take before falling off, but when stamina is gone you can keep sprinting but any type of damage knocks you off. Maybe even a cooldown before you can mount again. Sounds like a 100% targeted money grab to me, since people are undoubtedly gona buy crown riding packs now smh

I see no problem. This is nothing but a plus for logic. How can a mount continue at a full sprint when exhausted? No living creature can do that.

Yeah, they lie. Its not the same recipe it was even 15 years ago, let alone 200. Read the ingredients sometime. They've put in numerous additives that have reduced the cost to make their chocolate while in the opinion of many lowering quality.

Or could be something similar to the real world phenomenon known as "Second wind / Breaking past the Runner's Wall."
Able to maintain cureent speed and stamina as long as you kept moving, when/if you stop where you become fatigued, drained and had to recover your endurance back to start sprinting again.

Kinda like what currently is in game, running on empty, but soon as you stop. Sluggish, and have to wait for at least 2-to-3 ticks to get back up to speed again.

Every time they change something to the base game they mess up 10 other things! It's madness to mess with something you don't have too. It makes me feel like ZOS is just changing stuff to look like they are doing something. But it's gonna take a 1 1/2 to fix everything that currently broken. Makes no sense

But back to ESO. I suggest you all take a look at this:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/490731/horse-training-with-cyrodiil-stablemasters#latest

Makes horse training a 3 month slog instead of a 6 month slog. Still long enough to sell lessons in the crown store for the impatient.

I actually thought this was how it was supposed to function when I first started playing.

Same. At first I thought it was a bug when my mount, Chicken Senchilada, ran out of stam yet kept sprinting. Felt like cheating. Glad it's now "in line" with how stamina's supposed to work.

It was never a bug. It was how it was designed from the start of the game.

Correct. Hence me saying "At first I thought..."

My second thought being "Well, I guess it works like this, even if it doesn't make much sense."

But it does make sense because the pool is meant to be the buffer between an enemy hitting you and you getting knocked off the horse. I can understand when compared to normal character stamina doesnt line up. But it makes sense that you shouldnt be simply dismounted because youre hit by someone or something. But if you deplete that bar and get hit youre going to get dismounted.

This change is absurd. I don't do a lot of PVP in Cyrodiil, but this will make travel in that zone even more aggravating than it already is.

On what occasion do you actually run out of 60/60 stamina though?

It takes me a full third of the Cyrodiil map (with rapids) to run out of stamina at full 60 stamina. That’s more than enough to get anywhere you need to go.

Best to test this on PTS yourself ... before posting more whines and jumping to conclusions.

Not really the point. Getting TO 60 speed, 60 stamina, 60 capacity is the issue. For years people have not had to worry about wasting all that time increasing stamina and could focus on speed, then capacity.

Now they make stamina more important, so you get to waste 2 more months adding a dot per day.

Hey, did you know they sell stam upgrades to your mount in the crown store?

Cool, change a feature to make people pay to bypass problems you created with that change.

Some of us play in No CP campaigns, so no help there. Perhaps horses can chew on a Templar's Shard when they run out or are low o.O?

Or perhaps a new crown store item will be introduced that lets one's horse "drink" while running and while the player is mounted Har!

Regardless of how it seems to perform on the test server, who in hell wanted or needed it?

Fixing an old "bug" eh? How about fixing that old unintended one you now call a feature, Animation Cancelling Zos or many of the still existing ones!

This was like a feature more than a bug at this point and I'd really prefer it they are fixing actuall bugs. I'm just thinking how slow i will travel in Cyrodiil with my secondary characters don't have much speed or stam at least i could infinite sprint before.

I just find it funny that there is so much complaining about faction stacking at keeps and when ZOS implements a mechanic that will reduce the amount of faction stacking by increasing the time to travel to a keep, everyone loses their minds.

Hmm. Doesn't affect me much as I've always done stam before capacity (I never carry much around as I don't do group content etc). Also, I'm never in a real hurry to get anywhere, AND I tend to sneak around so I don't have to kill my way across zones anyway.

I don't think I've ever run a mount enough to drain a lot of the stam bar. Still, seems like a very stupid thing to "fix"....

How far do you have to ride your mount to run out of stamina? Assuming stamina is maxed at 60. I have never ran out of stamina on my mount.
