I can't speak for PvE, but in PvP this is once again just another example of "Improvise. Adapt. Overcome."
if this didn't happen every patch I might actually show a little alarm, but just give it 3 months and things will change again.

That actually lowers their dps even further. For example. If the standard direct damage ability dealt 10k damage then a DoT would deal 25k over 8s, or 3125 dps. Now that dot should deal 12500 over 10s, or 1250 dps. It further reduces the dps if ZoS is using total damage of the DoT for their standard instead of dps

Why not buff stuff that's underperforming instead? Game progression is already made in such a way that you feel weaker when you level up for the most part. And now this =(
There was too much power creep. I'm fine with these changes. Some content might need to be adjusted though.
