50% damage nerf on EVERY META ABILITIY

    At first glance the changes to necromancer are a complete joke.

    - Boneyard already didn't hit hard and now has DECREASED damage even further... no way this goes on my bar in any situation.
    - Frozen Colossus saw this nerf coming, idk how this changes things.
    - Shocking Siphon... DECREASED the damage... just lol... again, not going on my bar
    - Skeletal Mage- They made this ability useful in Scalebreaker, it was great to use. Now... DECREASED the damage by a lot... so... yeah... again not worth slotting most likely.

    What in the world are you guys doing with necro? Making them the crafters?

    I can't speak for PvE, but in PvP this is once again just another example of "Improvise. Adapt. Overcome."

    if this didn't happen every patch I might actually show a little alarm, but just give it 3 months and things will change again.

    That actually lowers their dps even further. For example. If the standard direct damage ability dealt 10k damage then a DoT would deal 25k over 8s, or 3125 dps. Now that dot should deal 12500 over 10s, or 1250 dps. It further reduces the dps if ZoS is using total damage of the DoT for their standard instead of dps

    As frustrated as I am right now I do agree. I honestly have to figure out what my magcro's bar is going to look like but we will see. My adapt, overcome might be just playing another class for PvP until necro is a bit better. Warden looks great so, I might try that again.

    Ground dots usually have their tooltips written as "x damage per second for y seconds" where single target dots are "x damage over y seconds."
    This means for single target dots you are correct and for ground targeted dots you are incorrect.

    Yes, so if something ticked for 2,000 damage (just using an example) every second for eight seconds you got 16,000 damage (if it wasn't purged after the first tick in PvP). Now, you will get 1,000 damage a second for 10 seconds for 10,000 total damage. And the best part is, you are going to pay 30% more to get LESS damage.

    They are going the complete opposite direction they should be going with things here and I don't see it letting up anytime soon. The skills in the game are more of a mess now than they were when Summerset released. Things keep getting worse - not better.

    There was too much power creep. I'm fine with these changes. Some content might need to be adjusted though.

    Those players benefiting least or not at all from Power Creep will be the ones affected most by these changes.

    It's the same old thing with these guys. Try to affect the elite few by nerfing everyone else.

    I understand the damage nerfs to DoTs because DoTs have been crazy over-performing with their current damage plus with the sheer amount accessible to everyone but what I don't understand is the INSANE cost increases to these DoT abilities. Aren't the damage nerfs enough to discourage the use of so many of them in place of direct damage attacks? But now you have make some of them cost a metric ***-ton to use? What?

    This is actually pretty terrible.

    Why remove an entire viable meta and reduce the game back to "DoTs are crap, DD or suck" - thats the exact opposite of creating more meaningful choices in game.
