BSOD/CTD

There is no need to write anything other than BSOD under this post.
I am simply going to post BSOD every time I crash.
Unless you want to log your BSOD here, in which case you are very welcome to respond with your own BSODs
But no other posts, no other words, just BSOD every time you go down.
Haven't been able to play much today so I have only crashed out three times (Wednesday it was nine) so the first three replies will be BSOD from me.
Please do not post anything else or I will be sad.

P.S. as an ex major ESO fanboi you cannot imagine how hard it is to post this.

A BSOD does not indicate a game issue, it's a hardware issue. The chances are that it's a component that is failing, perhaps the graphics card. Be sure also to run a temperature monitor so you can see if the machine is overheating.

Can be a driver issue, or a BIOS issue too. In the end, the BSOD gives them a cause. Using that can at least set people on a path.

Simple things are like, make sure the PC and all the ports are clean. A stray spec of dust in the PCI-E or RAM sockets can do fun things. Keep the thermal past fresh. If you installed a new driver, try rolling it back. If you haven't, try checking for a new one. After all that you get into the motherboard, GPU, CPU, and PSU testing.

It can be frustrating though, even if it is only one program triggering it. Still need to check the rig for errors until you fix it.

It seems you are aware of what they are suggesting, that the issue is likely a local issue not related to the coding Zos has done in Maryland.

The first step is restarting your machine but I expect you have done that already since that is such basic information. If you do not have the required tools to test for the other things then I suggest opening a ticket with Zos as there may be something in the Game Consultant report that will tell them what is going wrong with your PC. Maybe.

BSOD forces one to restart the PC.

Going to ZOS for help is probably the least helpful avenue.

I would go to the PC manufacture, motherboard manufacture, Windows Forums, or something like Linus Tech Tips and Tom's Hardware forums where there are more savvy people. Start off by listing your specific error message and PC specs.

LOL. Yea, was not thinking that BSOD essentially shuts down the PC.

However, going to Zos for help on this issue is probably a lot more productive than creating a thread to type BDOS every time your CP craps out. Especially since doing so seems to make it look like you are blaming Zos because you have a hardware issue.

But heck, if it helps then go right ahead.

I updated my Windows 10 to release 1903 yesterday and it was BSODing when I launched ESO afterwards. Tested and it was other games too and ended up being caused by the Duet program which I use for connecting my iPad as a second display. So it’s not always ESO causing them.

Mind replying what error(stop) code you get when you BSOD?
    It will look like "0x00000004"

Due to the way windows is built it's very difficult for a video game to ever directly cause a BSOD. They can be triggered by the stress the video game puts on the system but that just highlights a previously existing issue.

If you post the error code I or others might be able to help you narrow down the issue.

Does BSOD occurs only when you play ESO or when you play other games too ?

Try using some Blue Screen analyzer tools like "WhoCrashed" or "BlueScreenView". (Those tools you dont necessary have to install as they come in portable versions. )

Those might give you an answer what is causing issue. This is simply a guessing game without analyzing dump files that each BSOD creates. It may be a driver, software or even hardware issue.

Alternatively, you can try "Windows Event Log" - it is build in windows tool that tracks various bugs & errors and you can see some older BSOD and possible cause. On Windows 10 just type in search window (near start menu) "Event" and event log should appear.
