    Zos doesn't know how to lightly nerf something. It's gotta be either OP or worthless, there is no in between

    I like the Plague Doctor nerf better, with combination of the removal of Entropy 8% increase health, now all Health Tanks are useless mudcrabs

    Yeah, this is a problem ZoS often has when they 'balance' - the set went from useful to useless. No reason to run this over something else now, they might as well take it out of the game at this point. When you look at it alongside traits like bloodthirsty, swift, and infused, it was far from OP. Actually, about the only thing it might have balanced it against was the flat stat bonus. Now you might actually think giving up almost 800 stat isn't as good as using protective. Good job zos?

    It was barely over-nerfed. The mathematically balanced value should have been 1204. It's way closer to the mark than it was.

    It went from 5532 to 3570 when using 3 protective. That's almost 2k less than the live value. I think they overnerfed it a little bit, but in terms of balancing it's always better to overshoot (either overnerf or overbuff) and then correct later.

    660 armor = 1%, going from 8.38% with 5532 armor to 5.4% with 3570. 3% less armor.

    Anyone trying to argue that the % it lost isn't that much must not have thought it was that strong to begin with. If losing 1 or 3 or whatever % isn't that much, then having it isn't either. That argument goes both ways.

    Fact is, if the set isn't worth considering vs. other options, then it's not valued correctly.

    well protective is not a "set"in the first place but you are right, i never saw the hoopla about at best, 8.38% more armor, which is, in reality, a lot less damage mitigation then that because of the way the game works.

    So many crystals gone. Also, it was barely used in pve at all. Here I am playing this game that supposedly has pvp, but I can't even use it because of the lag, then my pve solo hm build gets crapped on because of pvp.

    This is too frustrating.

    Well, as a non-nord PvE tank (I'm a khajiit) who never could hit the resistance cap without serious tradeoffs as things stand, I can only say - thanks again, ZoS, for not separating PvE and PvP balancing; shows once more that I'm, as a player, is nothing but a money bag for you. ^^

    And some people are genuinely surprised in general section as to why forums are often so hostile and negative. The way company treats us, we treat the company, nothing to be surprised about.

    Yeap, not worth it by any means.

    You should equate the x3 jewel traits to a 5th piece bonus (aka brass for resistance or necro for mag) and 2.7k max mag is worth more than 3k resistance

    They put protective on par of other traits. Literally it is on par with all other bonuses. Only reason its seen as useless is because of how overperfoming and efficient are many othe resistance granting sets.

    I mean fortified brass is like 50% better than it should be. The single piece bonus on chudan helmet is 100% better than it should be and so on... If they finally reduced all of these tank meta would go away (or more probably find other way)

    Whether it was overperfrmoning or not, the point is now for me it's useless and all my transmutes I did for PvP is now useless.

    It's not emotional, it's just a fact, the defense doesn't outweigh the offensive traits now in PvP, so I have no need for it.

    Yeah my grind has officially come to an end if this goes live. Grinding nonstop for transmute stones and they pull some *** like this. Borderlands can’t come soon enough.

    Exactly. If there is no compensation given for this massive change to a PvP meta that was forced on mag builds due to healing ward nerfs for survivability im done with this game. Lol this has put me over the edge of tolerating the already laggy mess that is ESO PvP.

    For light armor users in pvp it was a staple. 100%. Jewelry crafting wasn’t the only change made in that year.

    This is the thing that absolutely sucks. To even compete rn you are running SOME protective- and it’ll all be nearly useless next patch?
