If they had the option for Lyris or Sai to turn up in this role then it would solve all of the problems.
If you sacrificed Sai then Lyris turns up.
If you sacrificed Lyris then Sai turns up.
If you sacrificed Varen then both are available and maybe you get a choice of who you would prefer to work with (or both).
that would be ideal. bonus points if they take into account if you encouraged them to admit their feelings for each so that it shows them in a relationship. (incurable romantic in me can only hope :P )

I expect that if a player killed Sai Sahan, they get some new NPC in his place. I am really not okay with them introducing a choice where you let someone die and then just bringing them back this way.
people actually acting like they didn't even think about the canonical events of the game when designing it. lol. I assure you they'll have a write around for it.

The red choices don't mean squat, except you could miss out 3 skill points at one quest which is probably the biggest impact for a quest choice for some people.
Probably nothing extraordinary. They might simply make a different diagoue option, saying that for example when Molag Bal died, Meridia restored Sai Sahan and all of the other companios etc. I expect something like that.So he will show up as ghost? Or he revived?
Now you know how I felt when Raz came back. Just stay dead already silly cat ...
But as for Sai, he was pretty big on his worhsip of Stendarr. Maybe the god of mercy has something to do with his return.
And I hope this sets a precedent for Lyris' return in next year's Skyrim Chapter

In one of the Reaper March side mission, you can choose to destroy a dangerous relic which cause the place where Raz was trapped collapse, leading Raz death. But at the end he manage to escape
If you choose to not destroy the relic, Raz will scold you.
