Alfiq Banker and Merchant

Perhaps if the price was nearer to the price of a mount more travellers might be tempted no?

If they had been 3,000 crowns this one would have gladly bought them both. As it is just the banker for this one. Tythis finally gets to go and 'retire' at Farmer Puddle's Sugar Farm …

So this one overall spent less crowns than if they had both been cheaper. Perhaps they do not want our crowns after all?

    Agreed.

    If they were 3000 apiece I would've insta-bought both!

5000 apiece is just pure greed on Zenimax's part.

Well, I'm disappointed. After 3 years, I finally broke down and bought the banker on Saturday evening. Now ZOS released an Alfiq banker. Oh well, caveat emptor.

If you really did do this, I would suggest putting in a CS ticket and seeing if they will swap them for you, it's worth a shot.

I did that last night and was told "we are sorry but all crown store purchases are permanent and non exchangeable ".

    edit.
I responded to the Zos email about being "permanent and non exchangeable" with my displeasure that they would treat a long time customer that way. I got a quick response from Benjamin in CS who refunded me my crowns so I can purchase the new banker.
    Thank you Benjamin!!

5k for another banker/merchant? Not even a eso+ deal discount? No, thanks.
The majority of the players in this game already have both so, just a greedy move here taking a ride in the Elsweyr wave.

Yes think the 3K versus 5K is an huge barrier.

I might buy the banker I want to see it in action first.
Has an fear its hard to spot and might like to hide between legs of players with robes or other places

I bought the banker then it was down to 3K or 3500 perhaps.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

You are welcome to pop to Sugar Island and see her. Ezabi was last seen in the summerhouse by the bar eyeing up a bowl of noodles.

This one has taken her out and about and finds she is large enough to find in a crowd. She is also quite fearless and will rarely hide between the legs of other travellers even in the midst of a dragon fight.

Nice, as they are small they should not despawn on porting like the standard banker and merchant

Sorry, but imho if there is no added functionality over the old vendors, like a repair function, I see no reason to pay 5000 crowns for it. Even if they added an extra repair function, I'd expect them to fix the older vendors to have the same functionality.

ZOS probably could have sold both types of vendors in bulk at 1/2 that price, but it will be a hard sell at 5k. One must question if they really want to sell the majority items in the crown store, or just look at the prices and dream, because they are way too high priced. These don't serve the purpose of microtransactions at all. The point of microtransactions is for people to spend small amounts of money in the games. Sometimes they'll lose track and end up spending more than they expected, but when you have 5k-6k and 15-16k items costing more than a 100€ in the store, you just can't see them as microtransactions anymore.

    Because they are Veblen goods.

Why would someone pay for a Bentley, when they could buy ten Toyotas for the same price? They could be 20,000 crowns each, and people would buy them, and walk around thinking (consciously or subconsciously) "Look what I got, neener neener neener..."

I can only compare it to the other MMO I play, WoW. If you want to buy a merchant (not the banker) they come in mounts you buy for gold. You can buy gold for money with the token, at 165k per 20€ (the amount of gold varies, but it's around that). The cheapest of these mounts costs 20k, the second cheapest 105k.

Now, I know they have different business models, but still, the pack for 5500 crowns is 35€. That's too much to qualify as microtransaction, and too much for a basic game function. I will spend the crowns once I accumulate enough from the subscription, but I would definitely not buy them if I had to spend cash on purpose to get them.

......That is literally what I said. These are not microtransactions anymore and they are far too overpriced to begin with. I did forget to mention this part, but there should be options to buy these in game for gold.

Find a crown seller and you'll be able to buy them for gold. I know that's not what you meant, but it's a workaround for anyone who doesn't want to spend crowns on them.

(I understand the greater argument of not locking functionality behind real money, so, as the kids say, don't @ me.)
