I miss my major expedition on magnb

Why did you have to remove it? Magnb was so nice with major expedition on its main dot, you could actually move. Now we are forced into rat which isn't nightbladish at all. I'd like my identity back zos. Please. Don't take this away from us.

I think it'd be fine if Path of Darkness+Morphs gave 4 seconds of Major Expedition after leaving the path.

I think it'd be fine if Path of Darkness+Morphs gave 4 seconds of Major Expedition after leaving the path.

It would still not find a spot on my bar and on the ones of many other competitive nbs. The heal is bad, the skill is expensive and it shouts out loud yo your opponents in what direction you are headed. Not only, it also keeps showing them where you are if you want to recast the skill to gain expedition, whereas with cripple and double take you could be a lot more discrete.

Moreover, crippling grasp is still bugged in pts and does not root. And let's not talk about shadow image...

It does that on PTS, but is still bad. Bar space is too tight to slot an expensive skill solely for lousy 4s of Major Expedition (the healing isn't noteworthy if you move out of the path).

Oh, good to know. I must have missed that change in the patch notes.

Too little too late. Not enough threads in this pts cycle mentioned this issue. I didn’t realize how bad it would be until I removed cripple from my bar and yea... wow it’s bad.

It’s honestly a direct nerf to mnb survivability. If there could ever be such a thing...

The days of choosing to run shade or not are gone Af. Shade or die.

I opened 4 threads that all mentioned this issue besides many others. Unfortunately there aren't many magnbs left, and the few left that actually care or play a decent level of pvp are even less.

I'm stamina player, mostly sorc and dk, sometimes stamblade, and even from my perspective I don't like what they are doing to mag nb. I really see no reason why they removed speed from cripple. Nobody in their right mind will use this version of path for speed buff.
I don't know what magnb should do to survive now... keep bow stack at 5? lol

Well it’s no surprise being that EVERY other spec is easier to play open world.

Took the Stam sorc out for a test drive recently.... Zzzz... Warp speed, major protection, easy dizzy swing combos, aoe execute in group play.... magsorc funnier yet.

Thank you for understanding, I now know why you don't work at zos. What a sad story the one of magnbs, such an amazing class destroy because...well...there must be a reason I guess?

It’s also not REALLY about major expedition. I’m going to get it from rat no matter what... BUT that PASSIVE expedition made the class play much less like static slow easy to hit mag classes. Which makes sense considering you are a NB after all.

It also severely affects ranged to melee blitz builds which was what I played primarily. Moved to nearly pure ranged after I felt the cripple nerf by removing it to test. Game changer for mnb. Cripple was a pseudo gap closer, combo opener, defensive repositioning and Stam pressure skill. It’s a *** dot with a 3 second cooldown now.

I like RaT as it doesn't pull you from Cloak. I'll still use it on my damage MagNB.

For my healer MagNB I like Refreshing Path + Double Take (new morph for snare removal).

Yea rat def has a place on the bar, but that doesn’t replace the passive expedition.

Sorry for the loss mate. I guess it's time to switch mmo tbh. Or pray that a magblade main becomes a dev. I've lost all hope for magblade.

I don't get why they would even want to limit a buff that doesn't stack with itself to one source within a class. I thought the point of the buff system was supposed to be that you could choose between different skills for a similar purpose.

Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

What about my damage. I wouldn't have any burst if I did that. My burst is already lower because I'm forced to run armor master. I can't cut my damage and sustain even more by running Swift glyphs

Yea man I’ve tried that. Even tho I don’t really care for concealed on the bar even as a blitz build. Unless you are running a proc set to amplify dmg by a metric *** ton, this is gonna result in noodle burst.

Yeah should have specified it's with Caluurions.

My build has both ranged and melee options as this seems to work with the direction the class is going.

I've been thinking I'm going to drop cripple completely for lotus fan. If it's not going to give speed it's basically just a dot. This will allow me to keep elemental drain on my bar. Cripple basically took two nerfs the passive root immunity/cooldown plus the major expedition. It seems kind of useless now.

Yea I more or less already did. I don’t like how lotus works currently on live but I might force it back on the bar to try on the next patch.

I'm figuring Cripple to be one for the single target DoT rework. I don't miss Cripple's Major Expedition because I never had it be reliable enough to feel worth building around. I do actively tend to avoid "target selection" because usually I can learn something about technical play by attacking a better player than me or not avoiding an unfavorable match up. There are a lot of better players than me and a lot of bad match ups for magblades so I feel like I've had a lot of chances to learn recently :D.

(I do gank but when I do I go all out. If I'm going to skip fair combat I'm going to really skip fair combat. Makes the kind of painful run away for (rarely) up to 10 minutes game that all the NB haters make you play much more worthwhile. That game is another time to work on getting better at defensive technical play so it isn't worthless. How way too often it doesn't come down to smart play but to AOE snare the magblade who can't run vampire as that is even worse than not having snare removal. Or even more commonly, pop a Detect pot and delete the fool who can't dodge the single target attacks. Medium stamblade in that spot at least only eats AOE spam and maybe a Torug's channeled heavy during a roll.)

Even though it is what the single largest single target DoT tooltip that isn't an ultimate.... funnily enough on PvP magblade it and the other skills really don't offer enough real pressure to secure combos by using pressure to cause mistakes. That's not the only way to play the class, and now that Assassin's Will might actually hit after a CC or even without a CC if (I'm real lucky) means that it'll be easier to execute bursts by playing decently and not requiring mistakes.
Magsorc has the ability to land burst via pressure while building quite tanky. Probably because not all of their pressure is counterable by a dodge roll or blocking. Curse isn't countered by either which is really something.
The fact that I might now be able to combine Cripple with the Lotus Fan DoT means I have another DoT application skill than could be ticking while I'm trying to apply Cripple or vis versa. That's tempting if still awkward because neither skill is precisely great. Especially because I'd really prefer to remain at range during the DoT application phase in most cases.

Given my memories of spending minutes trying to fight other swift users during the swift meta where neither of us could actually hit each other due to how it broke the combat system due to a myriad of subtle unintended consequences.... I don't really support a return to that even if it generally was a lot more fun than the current meta.

Any changes away from that direction even if it hurts otherwise good skill options I kinda support tbh.

A tiny unique speed buff on Cripple would arguably be stronger that Major Expedition... and yet would keep that buff impractical to keep up and Major Expedition would be harder to use to consistently reach game breaking speeds with.... without Crippling over-investment. *bah dum tish*

Game breaking speeds are fun to play with when you're the only one playing at those speeds. Turns to boringly game breaking when everyone makes a minimal investment to reach them.
