No reason to not play on PC if you have one and are starting out. Basically everything is better on PC.

You can play on PC with a controller. You'll get to use add-ons. Not a make or break situation but there are a fair few that make the difference between some tasks being a chore or smooth/streamlined gameplay.

I play on both PC and PS4. Performance wise PC is far superior and stability of the game is better. So I recommend pc.

I have played on all three platforms.

PC. It has a larger player base and more options. There are less crashes, and the game plays at a higher frame rate. It is more beautiful.

I played PC in beta and was a day one console player. I played for years on console. When I swapped to PC I instantly saw things in game I had never seen before. I walked around as if a wide-eyed child seeing for the first time. Game textures and plants that were literally not there on console.

As far as ergonomics, PC is no different than console. If you prefer a controller you literally can use it on PC. If you want to use your tv as a display and play that way you absolutely can. Console limits your game play in ways PC does not.

Console 100%. If you chill dealing with machine differences, war of the add ON's etc would be beyond frustrating for me. And the doubt on cheats, hacks, micros etc etc

I switched from PS4 a month ago, my account was stacked on console, and I still have no regrets. It’s like playing the sequel. Add-ons, FPS, the UI, everything about the PC version is better.

Kinda miss VOIP in Cyrodiil though....

Normally I would say pc, but seeing prices have more then doubled on pc stuff the past couple if years, a console is a better investment right now. (17 inch laptop costing over 2000 euros now vs 700 a couple of years ago)

I play on PS4. I'm not a serious gamer; ESO is the only game I play, so I bought a dedicated appliance for it. My PC is busy doing big boy things.

I often tease certain PC snobs by pointing out that PC = Plenty of Crutches

But... I recommend PC.

For the add-ons, lol.

You will find that many of those add-ons will save you a lot of hassle-time that is better spent playing the content.

Gotta say the forums are mostly users of not so casual PC players, thus the majority voting on PC. Played on both but PC player base won't let you play it casually. You gotta download mods, tweak settings, do your key bindings, blah blah.

Never went back after going to console. Also HDR and big screen 4k is always preferable to any PC setup unless it is like 5 times more expensive than the console counterpart.

I'm primarily a console player, and the lack of add-ons is a major inconvenience. Map add-ons alone will make your time in Tamriel much more convenient and enjoyable.

are your consoles next to each other? in the same room? becasue the biggest draw of playing on PC for me and SO was that we have our PC's sitting next to each other so even when we play with earphones to avoid weird echoee sounds, we can directly look at each other and our screens, talk directly at each other instead of through microphone, etc. its just all in all a better playing together experience. we don't have the largest TV ever, and we do have 2 of them, but they are NOT both in the same room, so we wouldn't be playing next to each other. I don't know what your pc situation is, but if its anything like ours, vs consoles being in separate rooms? I would say PC hands down.

bear in mind, btw, that there is no cross platform play as far as i know, so if you have one of each console? you would NOT be playing together. only if you have doubles of the same console.

P.S. contrary to some claims, for casual pc gameplay you absolutely positively do NOT need to install any addons, or play a certain way. if you decide to group with other people, for veteran content? they may ask for some extras, but just 2 of you? play whatever way you please.

PC bc you dont have to pay for subscription to the console just to play it. I'm sure you already have those considering you already have consoles but still I would say PC. besides you can use controller on pc too. also addons. and an actual keyboard. Also cause if you also have a laptop that can run it you can play it on that and sit where ever you want in the house.

I recommend console for the ease of it. If you're casual you don't need the add-ons.
Just plug and play, baby.

Xbox population seems larger than Playstation, and I've heard PS folks complain a bit more about toxicity, but it could just be selective reporting.

I know a lot of lovely people on Xbox NA, it's good times.

But either way, enjoy yourself!

I am clearly a casual players and I play PC.
I not against console, but they are lacking some important features, like keyboards, battery-life, and good RTS games.

To answer, all platforms are good, but pc get the superior end of everything.

The choice to play with any kind of controls imput.
Addons are also nice. I am not talking about high-end game, but just regular questing. Minimap is a plus if you like minimaps in games, and it is only on pc. Better interfaces for stores, if not completely improved interfaces. Design flaw corrections. QoL improvement for "useless content" like costume management, RP tools if that's your thing...
Also, auto-craft for daily quest is a must. Human can't be faster than the addon, so you get the money faster, and then go back to your affairs, would it be questing, housing, or a simple walk accros Tamriel's landscapes with your family members and/or friends.

About the community, well, I don't think that there is a better one. There is always a mean to be bad with others, and always people willing to do so. I have really few problems on PC-EU.

Console (well base game lol) buff tracking looks like cancer... not sure if that matters if casual though. If you guys have good PCs there is really no reason not to play on PC imo.
